Just seeing how badly outplayed Lichtenhein is in this game is quite stunning. The players in this tournament were mostly all strong masters of the era and Morphy was far beyond them. Even Anderssen, whom I consider the de facto World Champion of his time (not Staunton), looked far below the standard of Morphy. That's saying a lot because Anderssen was one of the great players in his own right.

8:43 knight to g8 looks very interesting here too. It seems creushing bc you can pin queen on king after the queen checks on f7, if king just moves the pin is still there, the checks forcing black to lose queen or the game.
Whenever Morphy met an opponent, he said, "You can resign before we start to play, or you can be humiliated and suffer ridicule throughout the rest of your life."

At 4:30 , Why not just move the pawn to f6 if blocking the white bishops attack was so important?
Because that's the only defender of his light square bishop, if ..f6 then Rxe6+ (with check)
If black plays f6 then the e6 Bishop becomes undefended so white simply plays R×e6
