You were right! My friends at the bar really loved this game. Now, all I have to do is to show this to my friends at the library. I'm sure they're gonna enjoy it, too. Thanks, Agad!
Cellkist, I saw the line until the queen's check. I have 2450 elo on chess.com puzzle, my mind is very fast when it comes to calculations. to see the knight's move I just saw that it was the piece that could defend the pawn, and that the other knight was in a cage, so I would have won it later. The queen was still under fire, so if you catch and the opponent resumes, after my queen moves her tower will be on fire, and so will the queen. just to say, my iq is 140, tested when I was 13 years old as a professional, so no, I'm telling the truth.
Agad: find this only good move for Morphy. Me: OK, I’ll try. Hmmmm. Ten minutes later. Still thinking Me: finally after five hours I found it, it’s Qb5. When I check my move with stockfish. Stockfish says: you blundered your queen, noooob. Me: all my hard work, gone

On 11:28, what about black plays Qb2+, followed by Kb2 and RxE2, making room for the black King to avoid checkmate and escape on E8. Game goes on and black controls the E file, the rook beeing on E2?
Hey, am a beginner and i enjoy your videos. At 8:38 pause, i thought Qb2+ and thought no challenges here. Can you comment why that is not correct move?
I must say seemed like a complicated game I’ll probably watch again to understand a bit better some really lethal moves by Morphy the average player like myself would’ve been checkmated in half the moves it shows the great understanding these players have of the board and pieces fantastic Thanks Agadmator
4:32. I think I found the reason. If white plays G6 you have to capture in order to save your knight, but then you get knight captures on G6 forking the king and the rook.
I saw agadmator in my dream today! I saw a chess match, which took place some time in the 1400s, between a human and an engine (yes, an engine in the 1400s; dreams can be weird). Agadmator was explaining all the moves. The engine was playing with white, while the human had black pieces. In the end, the engine won via checkmate. Agadmator went into great depth explaining how this is a checkmate. Once he was done though, he told us that it wasn't a checkmate and described how it could have been prevented (the king had to be moved one step to the left) and that the person playing just failed to realize that and gave up, believing that he had lost! The weirdest part was that both kings were represented by a stack of paper plates, (naturally, a black stack and a white stack) and occupied nine squares (3x3)!
I was thinking the same thing and wondered what other people will say about it. I think the problem is ultimately losing the knight on h7 without any obvious compensation: 26. ...Qxb2+ 27. Kxb2 Rxe2 28. Rxf7+ Ke8 29. Rxh7 - what now?
Such a great game, in part because of the unexplored amazing lines of defense for black. Oh I wish Lichtenhein had found one just to see how Morphy would have reacted haha
At 6:31 , why is bxe4 not a good move? Lichtenhein just had a bad followup. After Morphy captured d3xe4 black should have played h7xg5 since he removed one defender of that pawn. So, now black is up a pawn, Morphy has an isolated e pawn (which is now attacked by the knight!), the knight also protects the f7 pawn now (so the shenanigans Morphy tried in his line won't be a threat), Morphy's knight is still trapped, the h3 pawn is hanging ... is there something I missed? Because damn, I found c6xef and just because Lichtenstein screwed it up I won't get my virtual win over Paul effing Morphy!
8:57 what abouth queen b2 with check and opening attack on Queen with rook so when we capture whites queen with rook we free a squer for the king so it is not a check mate
