This is one of your best explores, really interesting and something not many people have ever done, well done Matt the boat is coming into very good use to make content like this. 😉👍
You’ve definitely pushed the boat out on this one Matt, what a beautiful little island. Really nice to see the old homes and other buildings. The drone footage is of excellent quality love that zoom lens it’s so good zooming in as it’s flying. Glad you made it back to shore mate keep up your excellent work you do to entertain your viewers 🇬🇧🛸👍👍👍👍
Loved this one! I grew up seeing Flat Holm out in the channel so it was fantastic to see what's it's like over there. What a wonderful place. Caught a glimpse of lovely Clevedon in the distance too!
What an amazing explore ! I have lived in the area all my life and have spent countless hours gazing out into the channel looking at the islands . Always wondered what was on them . Keep up the good work Matt . 👍
Loooov'd it! Two or three of my childhood fantasies and memories all jammed into one explore! The tramping around in fields of flowers on a sunny day, interesting places to poke around, good bits of history for context and a rockin good time on the boat. What's not to love? Well done😎👍
I wondered, if you didn't have so many folk on the boat that there could have been serious problems. An excellent walkabout on Flat holm Island. Aerial view is amazing. Thank you.
Matt your a Big Kid Now Nice Big Boat better than Dora the Expora Yeah I was Working watching now!!!; )really great video Ian would have definitely got Excited over those Golden Gems on the Island!!!; )
Matt is the music in the drone footage matt? Some really awesome footage. Love your videos as well as the ones with Ian and Chris. Keep up the amazing work you do. Top notch
Very very dangerous stretch there all the way into the mouth of the channel. Wouldn’t tackle it if I was under 25ft. The tide is the second fastest in the world.
Really enjoyed this one matt, secret vault at its finest! good combination of exploring and military history plus a nice bit of banter. Your work is much appreciated! 👍👍👍👍👍
I remember the foghorn all throughout my childhood..... I was born 71. always use to wonder what the noise was. Sometimes it use to scare me. But as I grew into my early teens.... it was comforting sound. Then I heard it wasn’t used any more... I was so sad. Years past. I was working out at wick st Lawrence, delivering paper. In 2002. I swear on my life I heard that familiar sound......... then it could of been a big ship going up the Severn. Yes I do miss it terribly.
Another great video Matt!love all the content, especially the bunker videos, wish some were closer to me in Ceredigion,i would be straight in em,still some good roc posts around here to explore👌keep the good work up💪
Matt was amazing great video to get inside the building that housed fog horn’s as IKS would say? There’s so many Golden Gems to see in hear folks!! like the generations more than just one and seeing the pipelines and the workings equipment to make the horn work must have been brilliant hearing the sound close up and also the drone footage was fantastic see landscape below it was fascinating seeing the diagram of big massive gun that would have moved up and down on it’s firing power I’ve not see that system before until you pointed it out it just goes to show British engineering was far suburb in all of it’s equipment that was ever made and still is today 👍😊
Mat this is a fantastic video thankyou!! Like you I have lived opposite these islands all my life, I live on the top of Newport. Have always wanted to see them 😍 You didnt disappoint, and drone footage is outstanding. You have made my mother's day thankyou ❤
PRECISELY! I know the warden, he told us he was terrified when these clowns pulled up to his island and started breaking into shit. what they did was a crime
Matt, this was excellent! I was born on an island, my ancestors come from another island, so I’m a water baby. I’m most relaxed around water: river, lake, ocean, etc. soothe me. That island was pretty, so full of explores and history, which of course you were well up on. Exciting trip back, but you got it sorted, no worries! Loved the drone footage too! Thanks for taking us with you 💕✨
Great videos as always. Only a slight correction... There is no such place as Amity Island in the US... There is Martha's Vineyard through where they filmed Jaws.. Keep trekking and good stuff!
Brilliant work once again matt. I've not watched any of your films and felt my time has been wasted. Wish you could do 3 or 4 films a week. Have you ever felt like your running out of content, interesting explores you know thats going to get viewed and liked? I do wonder how you acquire all of these locations you document for your fans entertainment. Keep it up matt!!!!!!!!!
The Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia, Canada is well known for its highest tidal bore. The tide comes in so fast that it creates a wake that surfers ride on :) EDIT: Just like Sully Island, also in the Bay of Fundy is an Island called Moose Island. You too can walk out there when the tide is out. If you get stuck there, no problem at all. The people there had built a little cabin for just the occasion :) While you are stuck out there, you may as well go searching for their well-known deposits of amethyst :)
Really enjoy your channel and all your exploring videos! You’ve inspired me to start my own, I’m pretty new to it and still finding my way. Keep up the great work!!
Seen this on my old account though I would watch again Nice seeing the old gang together I remember the black boat Protect the President 😂 54:00 📌 The cannons are amazing Glad you all got to land ok
The highest tide in the world is in Canada. The highest tides in the world can be found in Canada at the Bay of Fundy, which separates New Brunswick from Nova Scotia.
Nah Butlins was flattened... and the theme park too. Now they have a slight theme park there again but its a temporary type they coulkd pack up and send on its way. Barry decided to self implode its tourism.
Gardner 3 LW Generators, (they do not come any better!).Reavell Compressors + Air Receivers. All top quality kit. The period between each blast identifies the location.
at about 1h13mins you said about the flat area. There is the same type concrete area at Hartland Point light house (North Devon) between the lighthouse and car park, I'm of to Lundy Island tomorrow but will pop down to Hartland Point as Im sure there is a sign explaining it. (I know Im 3yrs late here just blame the algorithm LOL)
When you guys were inside that Gun Pit . You heard the Gulls squawking outside . For a second I thought Jess was being attacked out there . Happy it was just the Birds .
Have to say watching your videos all the time now .you say it as it is .did like enemy explorers but now gone off them lately .no exploring with them ..I'll try and get photo of a nucluer bunker at landguard fort . May be you should film inside landguard fort .its open to public .massive place
The fact that the manufacturers seal (or royal seal) is still visible on the guns may well have to to do with the quality of iron or steal along with age as you commented on.
This is one of your best explores, really interesting and something not many people have ever done, well done Matt the boat is coming into very good use to make content like this. 😉👍
If we are not dead from boating in 1 years time it will have been worth it... LOL

Had a hole Sunday watching "Matthew Williams" bliss baby.....
The flat area of concrete at 1:13:40 is rainwater collection to provide fresh water. There is one visible at Hartland Point.
It's called the Victorian water catchment area.
Superb Drone footage and accompanying music Ten out Ten Sir.
Sigur Ros ?

I grew up fishing those waters, your crazy going that far with a little rib like that. Impressive 🤣
When I was younger I went out too far in a dingy in brean sands and the tide started going out and got rescued. The sea is lethal this part of the uk.
Very very dangerous stretch there all the way into the mouth of the channel. Wouldn’t tackle it if I was under 25ft. The tide is the second fastest in the world.
Yeah neap tides from now on..
@@mattstercheif6075 25ft.... thata big boat. Guess we will have to go on neap tides when the water is slack.
It’s the unpredictability of the waters :) saftey In size! Keep up the good work

Some of those paths has been mowed..
yey !!! an adventure 💕defiantly heard a cat 😻 seagull bones, there must be foxes on the island🦊
The Biggest tides are in King Sound Western Australia, 45 feet/13.7 m that a good 2 meters higher than the place you at.
Great explore. 👍🏻
Really interesting video as always
Love your videos Matt, xx
The highest tide in the world is in Canada.
The highest tides in the world can be found in Canada at the Bay of Fundy, which separates New Brunswick from Nova Scotia.
Such an awesome explore! Don't know if I missed it, but wasn't there a public slipway available?
On weston the tide had rushed out too far. On the island we didnt reach the puiblic slipway as tide wasnt high enough.
Fantastic adventure! I was wondering, where does the fresh water come from?
A deep well, or is it brought in by boat?
SWP stands for safe working pressure on the tanks in the foghorn house
What a cool island. Is there still a Butlins on Barry island, used to go there on holiday many time as a child xx
Nah Butlins was flattened... and the theme park too. Now they have a slight theme park there again but its a temporary type they coulkd pack up and send on its way. Barry decided to self implode its tourism.

Mmmm Kelvin K2 Diesel engines. Made in Glasgow. They make lovely narrowboat engines.
Hollow bricks, lighter to transport maybe?
Cracking Vid lads
surprised no ones mentioned it but this island was used as a set piece for an episode of torchwood
The highest tides in the world can be found in Canada's Bay of Fundy at Burntcoat Head in Nova Scotia. Canada 🇨🇦 look it up.
Correct.

How was the light house powered inbetween candle light and battery technology? Was there a generator on site?
