“I’ve known you all as men, but today, today you are beasts. Whether you fight for God, for Family, for Country, for yourselves, I do not care, so long as you FIGHT!!!!”
Robert the Bruce, the Common Good Fund. Gave me a bed and carpet when I came out of Foresterill hospital after surgery. Lands that he gave to the people of Aberdeen when he was an outlaw. Bon Accord was his password and our motto to this day.
Amazing edit my friend, Outlaw King is an amazing movie and you truly pushed forth the responsibility that rested on Robert’s shoulders! Its a shame this video isn’t gaining that much attention, it deserves so much more 👏
My ancestor actually captured his ancestor at the battle of Neville’s Cross. He then refused to hand him over to the queen of England because he had not sworn an oath to her. He had sworn to the king. It was a mess, but he came through it with a knighthood for his services.

Only problem I have with my history is that Robert was a stone cold traitor who saw an opportunity to become king after losing favour with Edward, but all the movies depict him as a noble, just, righteous warrior. I am glad they took back Scotland as my country would probably be worse than it is now but we have to remember that Wallace and Bruce were both deceitful and thieving men, just like every other great warrior story from history.
@@ianmacewan9416 ofc Edward and company were also complete pieces of shit but just because we’re Scottish doesn’t mean we sugar coat the truth because of our national pride
A good movie but like Braveheart a bit sloppy on the battles, Bannockburn was different than movie version and again my Family was ROBBED of it's part.

Im a descendant of his!! ❤️
A true king, one that I would gladly follow were he alive now.
Certainly not the current incumbent to the throne of Britain.
My king - one who I would gladly swear allegiance to in the present.
My ancestor actually captured his ancestor at the battle of Neville’s Cross. He then refused to hand him over to the queen of England because he had not sworn an oath to her. He had sworn to the king. It was a mess, but he came through it with a knighthood for his services.
The actor who played Ser Brynden "The Black Fish" Tully on Game Of Thrones was in Outlaw King.
And Stannis finally became King.
Stannis Baratheon as Edward Longshanks is so different but so on the same vibe

I want to see the film about the always ignored other Scottish freedom fighter, Bruce the Robert.
pre Braveheart film ; it was Wallace who was largely ignored - it was all 1314 Remember Bannockburn , and Brucie - Good Game , Good Game
Scotland And England Is A Marriage That Can Be Divorced Or Loved At Any Time
marriage is NOT AN OPTION; DIVORCE PERMANENT NOW AND FOREVER.

Robert De Bruce was a cutthroat

He didnt hang women in cages from castle walls.
And he baned the rape and murder of non combatants.
And he handed back most of the prisoners he took and did not keep them starving in dungeons when he had them.
What we have to remember is exactly WHO did that though.
