Do you want to remove a bathroom faucet? Want to know the best tool for the job?
You could use a basin wrench. Heck I've been using one for years. But the Ridgid Faucet and Sink Installer tool is awesome.
Here are 3 great uses
1. Remove and install faucet supply lines (without getting bloody knuckles)
2. Turn off stubborn faucet and toilet shutoff valves
3. Loosen faucet retaining nuts from underneath the sink
It costs about $21 with tax.
You don't need to remove the sink to remove the faucet or supply lines. The Ridgid tool will fit up underneath the sink and be able to access the supply lines and faucet retaining nuts.
This really comes in handy if you want to update your bathroom by replacing the sink faucet.

I have the Ridge Faucet & Sink tool for years but hardly thought much about how useful it is until now. I can use its metal removal wrench to remove the corroded bathtub drain. Great video, short and to the point. Thank you.
I've had this about two years and just went old school instead of using this because the instructions on the package wasn't very clear. You just saved me a lot of time, thanks a lot. Don't know why I didn't check youtube for help sooner 😞
Jeff I did it!! I purchased the Ridgid as well as the Basin wrench. The ridgid was great from the supply lines, but the Basin Wrench worked for the stubborn rusty nuts holding the faucets. Soaked with WD40 over night. Had to put an adjustable wrench on the faucets on top to stop them from spinning while I worked below. The first not would not loosen by hand at all had to use the basin wrench the entire time! The 2nd one took me 18 minutes to remove. Yeah I'm a pro now...and now for the fun part...installing the new fixture. Going from tiny little separate hot and cold faucets to one big one, with a stopper no less. THANK YOU!!! People this took the patience of a saint and some visualization. LOL

After seeing what this tool can do , I'm definitely buying one because I have to change out a faucet at my brother's house , Definitely much better than a basin wrench which chews up the faucet mounting nuts and the supply line nuts because a regular basin wrench has teeth the same way as a pipe wrench , The Ridgid Easy change faucet tool is the basin wrench reinvented and the price is really good for a tool like this

I just bought one too and I used it when I had to service the faucet in the master bathroom at my older brother's house and The Ridgid Easy change faucet tool more than definitely made the job easier , Especially in tight places because the sink in the master bathroom , I could barely fit in there and because of that tight space under the sink , There was no way I could get both hands up there to position a regular basin wrench
So this tool was a huge help to me and I was able to use it one handed in which I had to because of the tight space , So for all of you that are gonna service or change out a faucet , Get rid of the old style basin wrench and definitely get the Ridgid Easy change faucet tool , It's definitely a must have in your plumbing tool kit , After seeing and using this tool , Well beforehand I lost my basin wrench and now it can stay lost , It cost me 20 bucks and that's the best 20 bucks I spent

ridgid tools are amazing!! the people making the tools actually seems like they are tradesmen
This is the kind of tool that every DIYer should have. My only problem was using it on a deep well sink. The shaft was just not long enough to clear the bottom of the sink. An extendable tool shaft would be a nice feature.
Excellent tool. I paid 19.99 at the Home Depot. Made my job of removing a 10 year old kitchen faucet and hose a breeze. I highly recommend this tool. Great video.
Five years later and it costs $22.27 which is still well worth the cost in time & frustration alone.
@@TheOtto3663 I saw it at Home Depot this morning, thought hmmm...And left with the new faucet but without the tool. I watched this video after being defeated by the plastic nuts stuck on my 15 year old sink faucet, and with no way to get access to them properly. I watched this video, and I'm on my way back to Home Depot!
I tried it on a kitchen sink but wasn't able to tighten it. Maybe you should make a video on how to use it in the kitchen.
I just spent awhile getting a new faucet installed and this will save me so much time and frustration on my next project. thank you!
Definitely better than a basin wrench for installing and removing supply line nuts because a basin wrench will chew up the nuts , Both the supply line nuts and the faucet mounting nuts
Also when using a regular basin wrench , You have to wear safety goggles because the regular basin wrench will cause metal chips to fall which can get into your eyes , The Ridgid Easy change faucet tool will not chew up the nuts like a regular basin wrench will, I have to change out a faucet at my brother's house this weekend and I'm definitely gonna buy one , After seeing what this tool can do

I wish I had this tool yesterday when removing and replacing my kitchen faucet. It was a nightmare. The plastic rings that hold the faucet to the sink from underneath had mineral build up. I tried to use the plumbers tool that has a flexible spring grip on a shaft but that was useless. The area first of all is in a tight area and next that tool is not practical. This looks like the perfect tool for these projects. I just ordered one of these tools on E-Bay last night.
I do apartment maintenance and this thing is the MVP when swapping faucets or supply lines.

I sure could have used one of these wrenches Monday. I had to take a 12' piece of 1 1/2 PVC cut 4 slots to tighten the rosette nut on my Kitchen Sink . I t really worked well . When I finished the job I drilled a hole in my homemade tool and hung it in the shop . It will be used again!

Today I was trying to change my Basin Tap. Then stuck with the big plastic faucet which holds the Tap with the basin.
I was going under, then by the side, by the angle trying to fit different wrench & plus I have at home. Finally I did managed to get it out, 2 hour struggle.
Then I look in UA-cam and knew about Undesink or Basin Wrench. Then look in eBay and saw this red plastic wrench. Planning to order one tonight, so watching how it works.
Your video explain it all.

Remember the mantra "Righty Tighty-Lefty Loosey" This is an excellent tool and it should be in your Home Repair Kit
...except for the fact that many plumbing threads are reverse thread, so this doesn't always apply in this instance.

I bought this, thinking it seemed like a useful tool. As luck would have it, the heads of my supply lines would not work with the tool. They were round and knurled. I still think this tool will be useful in the future. Get a good look at the nuts before you buy it. Cool idea for a tool, if you have the right connections. Trying to get to those nuts really sucks.
+J Ray some WD40 sprayed on the nuts, wait 15-20 minutes, and a basin wrench might work

Does this do faucet nuts (the one holding the drain on)? Or just it does just do supply lines? Are the heads big enough for a 1.5 inch nut?
Great video .Thank you.I have an old faucet and I'm trying to get the sprayer hose off to replace it. I have tried using a basin wrench but for some reason I can't get a good grip on the nut.I even thought of cutting the hose off and using a socket,but if that doesn't work then I'm in real trouble.Does this Ridgid tool have a way to use it to remove spray hose nuts?Any ideas?
Hey John Wilson - yes, if your spray hose has a nut that fits into the grooves on the end of the Ridgid tool then you should be able to remove it. If one end of the tool doesn't work try the other end. But please keep me posted on whether it works or not.

Do you think I can use this tool to tighten my kitchen sink faucet? I gave up trying to tighten it with a wrench... there's just not enough space =(
Will this work on stem nut. I have Culligan water filter on the sink, having difficulty removing due to metal washer rusted out.
What about a backer wrench? Most of the time if the nut is that tight on the faucet supply connection you need a backer wrench so you dont twist copper into a pretzel. Think it's a good tool but you should always use a backer wrench

2:39 about the black plastic nut... you are dead wrong. There is no way in hell the orange/red plastic ends are strong enough to use to tighten or loosen these black plastic nuts. However, the metal part that has a hole for a screwdriver (tightening/loosening) has the 4-way for these black plastic nuts. I hope this helps someone.

Me too! It worked on plastic nuts that were installed 15 years ago on the faucet stems under the sink and were mightily stuck with a build-up of mineral crud.
I soaked them with WD-40 the night before as an extra measure to lubricate the threads. I also soak rusted metal nuts in advance.
This job involved working behind the really tight spacing of a pedestal sink.
My research found some saying that I might have to remove the sink because of the compressed work area. I did not!
Woohoo! This tool is a miracle worker with its handle design that allows working in tight and hidden high spaces. I had tried a basin wrench in the past but it keep slipping off the faucet nuts.
I would not be without this tool and the Ridgid 2-in-1 wrench, also found in the plumbing section.
I am a relative newbie to plumbing and feel lucky to have come across these amazing tools. Makes plumbing seem like an (almost) fun hobby :-)
I just went thru about 30 mins of frustration. I cannot see up in there or get a wrench up in there! I looked it up on ebay. $7. Can't wait til it gets here!

Tambien se puede con un tubo galbanizado redondo de 1 pulgada porque la pieza mas dificil de quitar es la que sujeta la llave
I wish I can email you a photo of a loose faucet to see if this Rigid tool will work. The Nut is brass and looks like about an 1 1/2 - 2" Nut where 3 supply hoses goes into. This brass nut is what I need to tighten and its very stubborn. Every time I tighten it, the washer underneath it rotates with every slight turn enabling me to tighten.
Great now if they can make a pipe wrench to fit around a sink strainer Basin nut I will be happy

The long tool holds the sink drain in place while you tighten it's large nut.

It needs a rubber gripper in middle of tool to make it easier on hand, better grip. The entire tool is made of plastic, the weakest being the orange part. It gives under pressure. It is a GREAT tool and idea, but it needs better material.
and how do you back up the copper supply coming from the faucet? You just showed the homeowner how to twist that copper up and break it off.

The tool is all right but I think it's too bulky I changed a kitchen faucet yesterday and the nut that holds the faucet in place was too big for that Ridgid gadget had to take the sink out the counter flip it over and still had to use two wrenches to get it off it turned out to be a real lengthy project

YOU ARE AWESOME! I hired a 27 year Head Engineer to replace my kitchen faucet. The faucet itself is very expensive so I would hate to see the damage created by his channel wrench. He had to come back several times because the hot and cold were offbase and then he cracked my cold water line to the faucet. Now I have to deal with a replacement part. I am going to Home Depot to buy this tool. Thanks a million.

Does this fit on the nut that fastens down a kitchen faucet? Those are the ones that are a pain and need a basin wrench to get off. If this fits that one, then this tool is the cats meow :)

This is a plastic. How long it will last? Does it tighten enough tight? Tighten means the tap will not move and water will not leak later.
It will last a long time, years, if used properly. And there should be no leaks after using it.

It still looks quite big & wide, & am doubtful it will fit in the small space under my basin to remove taps.

It doesn't work on coper lines. You cannot fit it - too bulky.
RT, it will work on copper but does depend on the setup.
I don't think it'll work on any rigid curved supply line.
