Outstanding job Donald its always a joy to see what your going find in these drains. If only these drains were easier to get to i know that would easier on you. Blessings to you and yours always 🗽🍎🐀🌽🙏🦺🧤
What a crap location of that U-trap, the other services were obviously added later and did not take into consideration that access may be needed one time. Great job Donald, to unblock this drain and get it flowing like a river again.
@@Robertrls01 The sump pump pipe is supposed to go directly out the wall. Normally, the sump only collects ground water (rain) . This cuts down on overloading the sewage system and avoids sewer gases coming back into the home.
It depends, in my area there is only combined sewer. I.e. sewage and rain goes into the same system. Sure this is problematic in case of heavy storm - it is kind of necessary to have a good backflow valve to avoid flooding the basement with the city sewer every now and then...
Oh God! This Installation have a Technical Planing what not Idea from Work have. Then a Housewife what love Wet's. Good Work from You however. The Drive through the Wintry District very Fine. Thanks for this Video. 👍
That plumbing setup is illegal. Sump pumps for a French drain have to flow outside the building and not into the sewer the only water that can go into a sewer is water that you paid for. You did a good job.
Looks like the "Spider friends" that Post 10 always finds in his culverts up North into New England have found their way to finding you in the NYC area. They must have gone South for the Winter like the birds. :P
Today…your catchphrase is modified to _“Flowing like a dam.”_ 😂 These folks put everything “not to” in this line. I’m surprised you didn’t find a G.I. Joe w/ Kung Fu grip in that mofo. That was a lot of backed up water. As usual, good job Donald.
Just had my own sewer clog yesterday... in my house, it manifests coming up through a floor drain in the basement when it's backing up, since that's the lowest point in the system. I go to the rear of the house, and having watched too many of these videos, I just utter "trap stoppage." Fortunately have my own big electric drain machine, so just a couple minutes of digging around, problem solved, so probably toilet paper or soap scum, usual suspects. Never worked a day in my life as a plumber officially, so I'd probably just sound annoying to those actually in trade, from adopting terms from vids like this. Although bonus, the floor drain didn't go down immediately even after clearing the trap, but again, having seen so many of these videos, I figured toilet paper had gone backwards into too narrow of a drain. In any case, it remained clogged for a moment, but dumping enough water on it "popped" that as well, so all is good.
@@NYDRAINS I only ask forgiveness when I hear a voice like yours saying there's a "trap stoppage" or "this line is underneath some pressure" in my subconscious. (My line had enough pressure that there was a bit of outflow from the trap's cap, so, yeah, definitely some pressure...)
Whenever I see horrible conditions like that. I assume back in the day the workers were confident in their work to think. No one would ever need to service their work so why bother making sure it's in a nice workable easy access area? I would be highly annoyed and pissed off all the time! Lmao 😂. Bro now I have to destroy these people place to get to the thing that needs servicing lol. Nevertheless good work as always.
Did they go into a coma or find the space-time continuum buckle because before there was only three digits in the amount of videos you had and now you suddenly have grown by 2000 videos Don, congratulations on your growth over the years! :-)
Another great video. I am just curious with all the Karens out there do you ever get a customer that gets an attitude or refuses to let you video your work. Keep up the great videos
Good job. You earn your money! I hope all that piping and conduit was added through the years because it surly would not pass a plumbing inspection like that. Would it? Not where I come from! lol. Good luck. From Ky. 🫵👷🏼♂️👍
Great great job Donald. It’s like the builders think “hmmmn, how can we configure this to make it as inaccessible as possible?”
That was great! I wouldn't clean that mess up. That's the dream machine, it'll open any clog.
It definitely gets the job done!
Great job, Donald. Keep it up. Can't wait for the next one brother.
Thanks again Jason 🫡 or rather you be called Jay 🤔
Outstanding job Donald its always a joy to see what your going find in these drains. If only these drains were easier to get to i know that would easier on you. Blessings to you and yours always 🗽🍎🐀🌽🙏🦺🧤
If that were only so Kimberly 😆 thanks 👍
At least you weren't in a crawl space! Not that I'm hoping one for you! Great job Donald, I always look forward to Monday morning 👍
Awesome, thanks Ken 👍
Well done Donald, you've had your quota of spiderwebs for the year already.
Cheers for the video mate.
Lol,thanks Milhouse 🍻
You’re the best!❤❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Karen 👍 😊
Way to go Donald!! Nice road footage, looked like it was a sunday
You're definitely right David, thanks 👍
Dang! That's a lot of paper in there! And them caps wore under a LOT of pressure! Great job clearing the line per usual!
Thanks AL 👍

Thanks Carsten 👍
Great job Donald.
Thanks A.s 👍

Not at all Rodal, thanks 👍
Brilliant work. I’d be getting a feather duster for my tool kit if I had to deal with spiders! 😂
Lol, thanks 👍
Good spinning action to get rid of the spider webs!😀
Lol, thanks 👍
Usually sump pumps are not allowed to be connected to the sewer.
How does the water exit your house then? a separate line dedicated to just the sump pump? or do you trunk it into the main exiting your house?
That's the story here in Jersey.

Definitely not. At least here in Illinois it’s illegal
Sump pump into a city sewer is a nono
In this case, the sump pump is serving the basement because the main sewer line is above ground, higher than the toilets.

Thanks for watching Dorit 👍
A twister situation in that closet. Don got it done. Flowing like a river in NY!
🫡 thanks Fire 👍
you would think people would clean the area where you need to work - newspaper for towels??
Just worried tenants grabbing whatever they can find while waiting for help 🤷♂️
That builder most of been drunk when building that house my god. Great job Donald.
Lol, thanks Eric 👍
Good work Donald.
Thanks Saint 👍

@CaptainSouthbird 💪😉👍
there's nothing quite like a basement that gets finished over time without a permit or inspection. So many violations!
😆
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 have a great day Don.
Same to you Horace 👍

Didn’t see until Friday night but saw it . That was a cruddy basement set up
😉👍
Nice!
Thanks 👍
looked like they had heavy mil/layered plastic wrapped on the caps when they beat them in last time. probably trying to seal it better.
What are the rodding point seals made from ? We don’t have this system in the UK…
The cast iron pipes were sealed with lead and oakum back then.
@ thank you ! What are the plugs you use now made if ? Plastic “
@andrewrixon2347 lead caps.
@ thank you

This would of been great for Halloween.
It sure would have!
Is that a code violation for putting those pipes in front of the trap like that? 🤔
It sure seems so!
There was so many code violation is not even funny.very good job.👍👍
thanks 👍
The owner of this property doesn't make it easy, that pipework is like Spaghetti Junction.
😆
Where do you get that great music at the end of your videos? I love it!
Link below description
A whole mess of cobwebs couldn't keep you away. Wipes, paper towels. Pad wrapping it looks like and a sump pump full of and a gusher of POOPOO!
Lol 💪😉👍
The mention of all the cobwebs made me think of the old .movie Arachnophobia. Nah, them people got to fix it themselves.
FLAR.
😆 FLAR
Shower time
Lol
Wow - what sort of customer can't stop using the toilet while you're working on it?
Ones that live in a multi family house that don't care 🤷♂️
My God, who lives like this. Do you report code violations Don? Anonymously of course.
Not me Just, I'm just there to make someone's day better, not worse, lol.
Clear BUT.....and but and but...
😆
🐳👋

Could it have been any more claustrophobic in there?
Lol
That my friend is without doubt the worst installation IN THE WORLD. 😢
