Should have a new episode on it pretty soon, spending a lot more time in the shop now that it's warm again where I live. Planning on getting to running the motor in the new chassis and at least testing the hydraulics in the next one.
The gear drives had more pushing power, but where a little slower and more hands on to move around. Parts are about the same to find and get. Both versons are good, having used both.
I'm using a small block chevy 2 belt dextended snout aluminum pulley and boring the pulley to fit a boss on the flywheel and drilling and tapping the pulley mount holes in the flywheel. sticks out about 3 inches which is plenty
I have a JD 90 .. I think round 1988 ...not positive... I was wondering if you could share with me any information on the drive motors...mine was working hi just fine but when I went back to work with it it won't move forward or backwards or turn...acts as though the brakes were locked but they are not..when I try to move in any direction it puts the motor in enough of a bind that it will turn off...any advise ?
might be the pump also, pump is sunstrand 15 series and motor is a ross trw mae series. specs are available here and have some info on motors www.deere.com/assets/pdfs/common/products/skid-steers/skid-steers-60-90-125-loaders.pdf It's also possible that a chain broke and got bound up. good luck with it
Nice dude!!
those little hydraulic pumps are actually pretty cheap, I took one off a Kubota engine i used to repower.. cant wait to see the progress on this.

Yup this is my kind of project.

Well, maybe I'll have to get one and give it a shot then. They occasionally come up around me for reasonable money.
is there a keyed shaft on the end of that motor or are you going to have to get a pulley with bolts?
