- Chris Armstrong begins his Portsmouth recital with three 6/8 marches.
Chris is one of the top pipers of his generation, described on TV as one of the best musicians in the world. He is a full-time instructor at Glasgow's National Piping Centre, and the Pipe Major of the Grade 1, Scottish Power Pipe Band.
Organised by Daniel del Piccolo, Pipe Sgt. of the Rose and Thistle Pipes and Drums, the recital took place in the Royal British Legion, in Portsmouth, South England.
Filmed with the Panasonic HS700 high-def camcorder under existing light and with the Rode Stereo Video Mic
Listen Chris is, always, a pleasure and a great HONOR...he is a PIPER, a MYTH between MIYTHS.
Thanks a lot Bob for upload this pipe highest moments !!!

@MacArthurPiper Thanks for your kind words. I am using the Panasonic HS700 camcorder, and the Rode Stereo Videomic for improved sound. P.S. I enjoy your videos too!

6:12 Jeannie Mauchline...EXCELLENT
super recording piper bob
Chris names the 6/8 marches (at 1:38) as "Auld Adam", "Mrs. Lily Christie" and "Jean Mauchlin".
Un estupendo gaitero.
Enhorabuena.
amazing.:O
@knockdrive1 Thanks for that.
@paddythepiper1 Thanks again for the encouragement Paddy.
Well played lad
Does anybody know the tunes?
chris has great, crisp finger work and is very solid with his playing, but for me there is something missing. He dosent have the feel and frasing of people like Gordon Walker and Jimmy and Dougie Murray, who just have the best feel and frasing around.
