If you use a minecart to move Out of grander distance of the the villager, and start the trade before you move, wait to complete it till you're out of range and you can trade constantly, no need for a billion villagers.
Also use axe for pvp, sword only does more damage per second less damage per swing, meaning you can't defend and get the dps, whereas with an axe you only need that one occasional crit, then shield up for the rest of the time.
Void trading at its finest
You should use a mix of both, getting that fire aspect with the sword, then critting with the axe is better
