THE MOOER GE300 ARRIVED AT LAST,i didnt spend much time messing around just quickly wanted to show you guys all the HI GAIN/metal amps inside the Mooer ge300.There are a hell of alot of amps so bare with it,its a long one, all amps are boosted with the 808 od model and i used the sm57/rectifier cab combination.

I still own a Helix but I never really liked it's dirty tones WITHOUT a fuckload of tweaking, so I'm considering to change. The EVH 5051 model and both Engl Fireball as well as the PowerBall models in there sound amazing 😮. Capturing my own IR from my cabinet (Orange PPC 2x12 closed back) or some third party IR of that particular cabinet and I'm good to go 😎
So I will definitely be trying out the GE300!
Mrc_ Ripper yes the amp tons are much more realistic than helix for me ,I’m not big on fx which is the helix strong point I feel.....the tones in this unit are better than in this video the boost is a preset,I wouldn’t usually set my boost like this .....👍

That’s awesome I still use it quite a lot glad it helps,it’s quite hard to make it sound bad in my opinion,I’d recommend downloading the celestion v30 ir the link is in the description and it totally improves the quality mate.
Great video. Thanks for taking the time. If you look on the screen the poweramp tube is on 6V6 for all. None of those amps have 6V6's. Mostly 6L6's.
I had to pick one power section as I cycled through the pre amps or there would of been too much fiddling around
I actually found the El34 to be best
I would love to hear this with a good IR or direct through the loop return of an actual poweramp+cab. I purchased the cheap Mooer 005 brown sound because it sounds quite impressive as a pre, but the built-in IR sucks. If GE300 sports the same model, EV5150 should sound noticeably better than here.
Gaston Possel I have put the 005 through an EVH return and also the Ge300 bud so checkout my other videos,also my EVH & Jackson guitar demos are using the Mooer GE 300 with Celestion IR’s the tracks at the start of them are often real amps so watch the videos when I’m playing with no backing and that’s usually GE300 hope this helps 👌
This sounds great.If these are just the base tones, it is outstanding (i.e. if you didn't have to muck about with them), I love things that don't have to be tweaked for hours to get a good sound.
Mike Hansen yes that’s right now I’ve had a tweak they sound great ,the preset on the boost let’s these tones down that’s why they sound a touch scratchy
This sounds amazing dude! Would you recommend this for a home studio, mainly metal recording. Ive tried the helix line 6 but didn't like the weird hissing fuzzy thingy in the high end. I'm considering getting a axe fx 2 but this sound so damn good. So do you think it deliveres enough for a decent metalrecording? Cheers and thanks for an awesome vid.
Oskarius84 yes I absolutely would,I use it myself especially to get ideas down.....I had the helix plug in and it’s not as good for hi gain tones as the Mooer 👍
As a helix user I'll admit it sounds good. Was it better? IDK and won't get in that debate over something that can be so subjective. What's not subjective though is Moore's customer service vs. Line6' when things go south. And I've never heard of one of Line6's firmware updates permanently turning owners units into an unusable paper weight. Can't say that for Mooer.
Tom White I don’t much about customer service tbh ,although line 6 is a bigger more developed brand so I’d expect it to be much better

I own a Helix and I think the Mooer sounds a lot better in the high gain department. I may end up getting rid of my Helix for one of these.
Justin Ellis totally agree I’ve used the Helix native software and this is just more real,more glassy......the effects in Helix are very good but I only use basic wah..reverb ect
I have the Helix and i use it with 3rd party IR's and the stock cabs; the GE300 sounds good, but it does bot sound better than the Helix.
Everyone who said that the Helix is worse; definitly doesn't know how to dial in their tones

We all have our own preferences it doesn’t mean someone doesn’t know what they are doing
I have a Helix vrs Mooer 005 demo the Mooer blows it away in my opinion but it’s only my opinion 🤷♂️
@@NinecoreNeil ofcourse the modeling of hi Gain amps on the Mooer are good, no doubts about that, my problem with the modeling is that the the modeling sounds like there is NO HEADROOM on the amp modeling on the Mooers, Helix is way more dynamic on that field
Milton Pranger not sure about that the Helix sound good but when you put them at the side of Mooer or bias there’s no attack like tube amps have naturally
I’ll have to listen on headphones but I’ll tell you right now it sounds nothing like my power ball. I skipped in the video. I wonder if it’s d.i or in an fx loop. I hope it sounds better than what I’m hearing. These are the types of videos I wish we saw more of. To the uploaded you did a fantastic job. Keep it coming!

Ninecore Neil I’d be glad to check it out! I really like the way you did this video and I wish more reviews were as detailed as yours are. How do you like the effects on the pedal such as reverb settings? I saw a video from overseas demoing this and it was really impressive to see all the things it could do with quality sounds. Enough so that Lord willing I might still buy one. 🍒🌲

I find the high gain amps are fairly good, but try and get a warm clean tone, no chance.

The Boogie Mark III at the beginning sounds best to me. It just seemed to really cut through and sound more amp like than some of the others. Actually all the Boogie ones sound best but esp. the Mark III, JP2c.

Nowdays we have the nicest multi-fx! I could'nt even dream of something like this 31 years ago when i begun. You are playing an expensive one, but even a cheaper small Zoom is just a dream compared with those Times... 😁😋🍺

What are these Mooer G300s priced at? I got a HX stomp and $499 seemed like a fair price. recently I got one of those Synergy SYN-1 half rack pre-amps (with a HBE and SLO) and it seems to work really well with the Stomp and the Orange Pedal Baby into a Harley Benton 2x12 with v30s. Where was all this cool affordable gear when people like us just started to play?

@@NinecoreNeil . I'm waiting for mine to arrive this coming sunday vía Fed Ex, I only paid $721USD tax included and free shipping brand new also, I think I did the right thing by not getting the Helix lt, this multi effects has more metal amp models etc.

I’m happy to use it live and I’m a tube amp guy ......it definitely leans toward high gain stuff
I do a lot of grab and go gigs. I’m thinking the boss ge1000. I’ll be using it to run to front of house. Any thoughts or recommendations. Trying to stay away from the kemper. I need the best sound possible. Right now I’m lugging around a Friedman BE 100 and matching cab. Sounds phenomenal but it’s a lot to set up and break down for smaller gigs.

Derrota Mundial it was pretty much a preset that I just changed the od cab n mic set up around on ......it can sound much better when you fiddle around properly,it was fresh out of the box so minimal tweakage 😜

Grab a Boss GT 100 for peanuts now! Dual Amps and effects! You can have separate delay times on either side plus they sound awesome through a stereo power amp and cabs! Line 6 sucks!
TheSixfinger1 true but the gt100 doesn’t quite have that attack on hi gain ,it’s not something a mic can pick up but in the room it’s quite noticeable after using a tube amp...there are still excellent tones and top draw effects in the boss though
Ninecore Neil I only use the pre’s and effects as I run it into a Boogie power amp and speakers! Sounds Killer!

Stefan Sjöberg It’s pretty obvious really if you think about it! Foot pedals are just different circuits that your putting in front of your amp! Basically, they are all a form of pre amp! Pre, Amp! Get it? Before amp! So if you switch off the cabinet sims, then your just using the pre amp circuit! Many people get amazing results using the 4 cable method! The best thing is to experiment and see what works best for you! That’s what all the “ Guitar Heroes “ did! There’s no voodoo to it! It’s what works for your style and sound! I don’t get it when you see all these guitarists chasing after the sounds of their guitar heroes? Most of their heroes probably had a guitar amp and a couple of pedals! Take Rory Gallagher for instance, a Strat into a Treble Booster into an AC 30?

I heard very good sounds BUT I think you need to compare them side to side against the helix or the helix native...

I hear a lot ot clipping (at 4:55 for example). Do you have any idea what's causing that and if you can avoid it?

Patrick Colucci it’s awesome I love it ,I’ve not worked out how to tone capture or uploaded my ir’s into it yet but it sounds great......the manual isn’t too helpful with the tone capture
Can this device do dual amps? I have seen nothing stated about this, other than vague references to "dual signal paths". Could I have say, a Dual Rec on the left signal path and a JCM800 on the right?
MrScatalog I’m not sure as the manual is beyond brief I have things regarding dual signals so I believe so.....

Hello! I got one of these past week I used the mooer 005 brown sound and fouind it so good that decided to get the ge300 and go mad with the effects. I do find that the gain on my ev 5050ds is super low im runnig the quipment through out a scarlett 2i2 interface. What could it be? I have to put the gain on 80 aprox to get the chugs...
Radoslav Dasencich not sure I did the same liked the 005 and bought the GE300 ,check my latest GE 300 video it will guide you through 5 of my settings ....it’s long winded but it may help you spot if you are doing anything different

@@NinecoreNeil Watching your video , I think I found the problem I remember I lowered the input on the patch , maybe thats making the evh patch to sound with so little gain. Im not at home but that was a quick evaluation .

Can you use od and ds and the same time? And can it do a parallel signal chain?
No idea I’ve only opened recorded this quick video and that’s it so far.....I will be doing more videos soon

No parallel signal chain, but apart from the od/ds slot you have Fx A and Fx B where you can freely choose what you want to use... So if you'd like to, you could use 3 different Overdrive/distortion pedals.

In my experience, Mooer has a hell of a lot of work to do with their modelling. I was blown away by how poor the Ge200 was compared to plugins like TH3, Kazrog, etc.
WholeLottaBulldog I’ve not used the 200 but the micro pre amp pedals are great and the ge300 is also great I’m not sure that the amps are good or bad replicas but the tones are good in their own right to me

GEORGE IRISARRI I just turned it on with the 808 on and I went through the pre amps I think ...same cab same power amp ect at most probably pulled back the gain for the 808
Awful modeller. All amps are the same shitty distortion with different eq curves in post gain stage.
