As long as this anti sweat valve has internal spring check valves on the hot and cold you should be fine. Otherwise it's a point of crossover for your hot and cold lines.

Also get some nice warm water splashing up if you flush the toilet while sitting on it

Come on😮.. spent money on a Geberit built in reservoir and wall hung bowl. You will never look back. The reservoirs are insulated so no condensation. The wall mounted bowl lets you mop the floor in one sweep. Using warm water to fill the reservoir is bordering on insanity when we in the Netherlands now install heat recovering shower drains to save energy….

US: condensation, bad! Lets throw energy at the problem. EU: We insulate for lower noise, looks and cleanability. Noone knows about condensation problems like this.

I had a similar reaction, but after thinking about it some more, I don't think it's as bad as it sounds. During the colder months, cold water that's fed into a toilet is heated by the room it sits in, so we already are heating the water by stealing heat from the house. The strategy outlined just means we are actively heating it. This is only a bad idea if (1) the toilet is flushed frequently, resulting in a lot of heated water going down the drain, or (2) we are unnecessarily heating the water in the summer, when condensation seems like it will be less of an issue (assuming a home is cooled and humidity isn't too bad).
That is, this strategy seems fine as long as:
      1) The toilet is one that's not used too often, so we're not flushing unnecessarily warmed water down the drain.
      2) A shutoff valve is added to the hot water side to turn that off during the warmer months.

@dosadoodle well, maybe it's not as bad as it sounds, I never thought about condensation on toilets as a problem, I prefer the wallhanging style of toilets simply because they are way easier to clean.

@@Jacksparrow4986 The US doesn't rely on Russia for energy like the EU. EU says one thing and does another like an illusionist.

Hot water on toilet ?! Really ?!

It's a mix of hot and cold. And like he said, the hot side let's you throttle down the flow to get the temperature just right so the condensation stops.

@@tomw5043 It is typically American because we in Europe only use cold water for toilets so as not to have to heat water that will therefore waste energy lost.

Mine use to do this, I had to yell at that bad boy and told him “QUIT GETTING NERVOUS” and he stopped sweating. Yes my toilet is a he, you don’t tell me what I can call my toilet.

It’s sweating because the glaze was not put on correctly

Mmm, if your inlet water drops below 12 degrees C, you will get condensation. Basically on anything that is not insulated with air tight foam glued closed like Armacell.

It's sweating because humidity and room temperature is higher than the cold water filling the tank. It's common with well water.
