Love your comment.. I’m a Christian and I know God wants the best for us and that is to be surrounded by the things we love and to feel at peace. God reminds me daily that I don’t need things to show me my worth and that materials things don’t truly bring joy if I start to look at it as stuff that is cluttering up my space.. One thing that helped me alot was the one video you did, I believe in a bathroom. You pulled up your bank app and showed how the balance did not change when you got rid of something 🤣 That was a great point!
FYI:if you have unwanted blankets and towels, donate them to your local humane society or veterinarian's office. They always need them to put in the animal's cages. I used to work at a vet, and we always appreciated when someone donated them!
I have donated many many old towels blankets and the odd large cushion with a couple of spare covers to my local Dogs Trust, where they had a Cattery next door, they were always thrilled to receive them, and such a worthy cause.
Dawn and Diana thank you for these Sunday videos. It’s like talking with old friends. I am having a very very hard time since my parents have passed away. I am so sad right now. I miss them so. All of your videos help me so much. I keep decluttering. When my home is simplified I feel better. In July it will be one year since I started decluttering. After I watched one of your decluttering videos. I said that’s how I want my home to be. I feel joy and very peaceful when I come home because the clutter is gone. I will always be grateful to you for your videos. Thank you Angela
I have a family member who has completed rehab, and moved into a sober living home with other women. They have been so excited to receive my things. Most have lost everything due to addiction, and have to start over from scratch. Just thought I would let folks know another good place to donate. I have been motivated to let go of more when I saw how excited and grateful the women were to receive things. I felt happy that they found a good home.
willowwillow1969, I love your comment so much. I also have a family member who struggles with addiction. My heart goes out to anyone dealing with this. It’s wonderful to be able to see others blessed by our abundance! It truly is better to give than to receive, right?
We moved out of our old house last December where we'd lived for 16 years and I could not believe everything I unearthed during that move that had been stuck in cupboards and buried in layers over that 16 years that I had totally forgotten about, and had been shoved in just because there WAS a cupboard that could collect all that stuff. So now in the new house I have an aversion to "decorating" and amassing more stuff that I fear could turn into another archeological layer, even though our new house has just 1/5 the storage space. Instead, it is spring and we have embraced the outdoors and have worked to make our yard more accommodating for the hummingbirds and other birds, and instead of stuff in our house that weighs heavily in our subconscious, we now have light hearts, Our new decor is the birdsong we hear.
You create an entire natural community when planting native plants for the butterflies and bees and birds, and putting out water during dry days for them.
Yes! I used to hate it as a child because of the mud, and it was warming up but not warm enough to play freely outdoors...now, I just love it! It symbolizes sooo many wonderful things
I am always amazed at your videos. I got so many great things from this one! I think it is so precious "Mama, how come the flowers take so long to come out?" I also love the phrase, Check your Heart. This should totally be added to our To Do list. Thank you so much for all of your content. Spot on ladies!
I tried using a quarantine box and I was able to give everything in it except one thing to charity. This season I just gave stuff away with only a few things going in the quarantine box. It felt good.
@@angelamelum4304 You put things in a box that you’re not sure you want to donate. You leave them there for a certain amount of time, say a month or six months. At the end of that time, if you haven’t needed them or still want them, you donate without taking them out of the box. Also, make sure the box itself is donatable, not a bin you want back.
@@angelamelum4304 good question! It’s just a box you use to pack stuff away for a little while to see if you miss it or not! Then after a month (or two or three) you usually have more confidence to donate the stuff because you realize you didn’t miss it :)
I wonder if I’ve kind of already been doing this. It usually stays in my closet for a couple weeks and then it goes. Someone needs to make a video of minimalist things they were doing before they became a minimalist. I with the exception of clothes, have always done so much of these things. My mom was a hoarder so I tend to do the exact opposite knowing it’s never going to bring me the joy I’m craving.
In the midst of my personal struggle, I remind myself that this "thing" will bring joy to another. Maybe the love and happiness it shared in my home will somehow get passed to another.
Yes this is what I have to start thinking. Not in a burden type way but that someone else could find use or joy from it. Thank you for reminding me of this 🌈
Once a pastor said that about personal struggles more broadly--I can remind myself that the struggle will allow me to reach across and bring joy to another struggling person. While we are exercising this muscle in our homes, maybe we can exercise it more broadly.
I giggled when I saw your tray in the background of stuff you already decluttered. How many times have I held onto stuff, to hurts, and my failures? And it does get in the way of worship and relationships! Thank you both for being a spring breeze. May the Lord bless you.
Diana's prayer about trusting the Lord with the burden of what others have done to you blessed me so much, as did the entire conversation. I want to de-clutter unforgiveness as much as I do the junk around my house and this video helped me get a little bit closer!!
The great thing about having kids is that they remember things for you!! With the birth of each child you “give up” a bit of your own brain space and it becomes used for them! Don’t despair! It’s all worth it! Those donated items were just things-It’s the people in our lives that are most important and bring us happiness (not random objects). And the rest of your message regarding spring was perfect-once again starting my week with encouraging words!
That’s because they take our omega 3 stores from us. Have to replenish by supplementing or eating a a lot of high omega 3 foods. Great during breast feeding also because it helps babies brain development! 😊😊😊😊😊
I love these Sunday morning videos! My husband and I are on day 136 of the.Bible recap because of you both. During the past year, we have gotten rid of so much stuff that was accumulated over 46 years of marriage. It has been so great to see how freeing it is to have less stuff to manage. Love it!! Love both of you!
I have been doing The Bible Recap with my 11 and 13 year old. We are only on day 40, because we do it about 3x a week. But it has been so helpful. I have never actually read the Bible before. Only bits and pieces.
If things are ‘cute’ or basically decent they therefore can be donated quite happily by me. The things I struggle with are things that are not good enough to donate and then just going to landfill.
This is my exact struggle. If it will only be tossed as not good enough to sell-I feel like I should just continue to use it, broken. Especially if I would just buy another one(even at resale). 🤷♀️BUT, I do want a clear house, and a better image of who I am to others- for myself not to impress them. 🤗 time to let it go!! 💕 so glad for this channel!! ❤️
I often have that issue, as well. I hate giving things to the Salvation Army if it's not good enough for them to sell because then the work is going on them. I just don't always know what isn't good enough and what is, so I tend to error on letting them decide, unless its super obvious trash! 🗑
@@Nan-59 letting them decide means they get lumped with the cost of dumping instead of you... so consider this as you decide what to donate. Thrift stores spend $10000s a year dumping other peoples ill-considered decisions.
This is just a comment on how adorable you two are, and how fun it is to watch how two identical twins look and sound so much alike. You two are so fortunate to see your own face as you look at the other, and the bond you most likely have must be such a blessing! I also love the fact that you two are Christians who share your faith on here. You are such beautiful Godly women to hold these short little devotional times. Much appreciated!
This will probably be a bit long. My husband and I are building a tiny home. D was worried that we won't be able to fit all of our stuff into it. I remember Dawn saying that we use about 20% of the stuff in our house so I told D that number. He thought for a couple of minutes. The lightbulb flashed! He said that we'd put the 20% of stuff that we use all the time into the new house. The other 80% we would give away/throw away. We'd never miss it anyway. To say I was surprised would be an understatement! The man hates to get rid of anything that is still useable. My late mom used to tell a story about a woman and her sister. (At the time, Mom and Dad lived between San Francisco and Sacramento. If you went to the city to shop, you went to San Francisco.) The two ladies went to the city to shop. The sister found a beautiful negligee set. She bought it for "a special occasion," possibly a milestone anniversary. Ten years later, the sister died. Her grieving husband asked his sister-in-law to help pick out something for his wife to be buried in. Her sister began to search through the closet. In the deepest recess of the closet, on a padded hanger, was that lovely, dust-covered negligee. Her sister pulled it out of the closet and asked her weeping brother-in-law when was the last time his wife had worn it. He had never seen her wear it even once! The sister was buried wearing the negligee she had saved for a special occasion.
Thank you for the prayer at the end to let bitterness go. I pray God touches other people's hearts to those words like He did mine. I pray God blesses your families as you bless others.
Thank you both so very much for your beautiful gifts to think upon this week. They mean so much. You are appreciated & respected dearly, Diana and Dawn.:)
I have just started the video but I can tell you I need to hear it today LOL I have two boxes of cute stuff that I don’t use but I can’t seem to get rid of. Maybe today is the day!
Thanks ladies! The silver lining of the pandemic has been discovering great UA-cam producers like you! It seems like just a few weeks ago that you celebrated 300K!! Congratulations on your great success!!🌻
Thanks for mentioning 'spiritual winters' reminding me that the hope of spring comes spiritually too. Also to quit rehearsing the past that cannot be changed and just to turn it over to the Lord. I so enjoy the Sunday morning chats.
You two encourage me so much on Sundays!! Also, I have that same tray and it does exactly what yours does, it’s uneven. However, I have a fabric storage ottoman for my coffee table now and I use it on there to set things since you can’t set it on the fabric and it works Great!! I imagine someone finding that at goodwill or whoever you took it and being so excited and it working great for them!!
I so look forward to Sunday mornings with the two of you. Before I get ready for church I love to watch and soak up what you are sharing. Thank you for all you do. 💚
“We wouldn’t hold on to rehearsing conversations or things that we wish we would have said.” There’s a conversation from 18 YEARS AGO that has haunted me. If only I had said this one thing! I will walk in faith; your prayer has lifted me up and helped me know I can let it go. Thank you!
Thanks for video. Yes it's ok to get rid of this things it's just staff that you don't use it. Good ideas. You inspire me to declutter my house. God bless you. I already set aside a lot of things that are going away from my home. But before I'm planning to do garage sale and the rest what will not sell will to donation center . Thanks again for video.
I did that with the cake mix and chocolate chips! I gave them to our daughter and family and some to our son and his family, with the recipe! They made them before we got back home. One hour drive. 🥰
I felt the Holy Spirit in the prayer at the end today. I have had a rough couple of days and being prayed over by Diana’s calm voice was so uplifting and encouraging to me. Thank you for being a light in this dark world!
I TOTALLY agree with you about getting rid of stuff! We're moving next month after living in our current home for 18 years. Those 18 years have seen 3 kids graduate from college...and deposit their CRAP and unload it in our (unfinished) basement. Our local Thrift Shop has become our best friends!! And I do think they like seeing hubs drive up to the drop-off area! I'm to the point now of not even second guessing what I donate. The more I do...the easier it's become to just 'throw it in the box'. It's such a cleansing feeling...
I have not reached my de cluttering goals yet, but I have always enjoyed house cleaning. Particularly if I'm doing something like polishing silverware or a cleaning something that hasn't been used for a while and as you clean you can see the shine or light come back to the object. It reminds me have we have been made clean and new through Jesus. Happy Spring hope you keep enjoying the newness of spring.
Only a minute in, but I just wanted to let you know that you have motivated me so much to minimize my house! I don’t think I’ll ever be an actual minimalist, but your videos (along with clutterbug..it helps so much knowing I’m a butterfly lol) help me to get rid of the stuff I don’t need! I’ve watched so many tidying videos, episodes of hoarders, organizing videos...but for some reason your advice just sticks the best.
I was thinking the tray could have went between your computer monitors. Then I realized it is vessel to hold more junk you won’t need and could become a catch all. So I think you chose well. With this channels help I got rid of a lot. Thank you. Enjoy the day.
Completely 🙏🏼 I parted ways with two good friends last year during UK Lockdown when things were really tense. Both times they took my online comments personally (and completely the wrong way) 😢 The backlash was toxic but I understood they were under enormous pressure, like the rest of us, so just forgave them and let them go. Sometimes it’s not just the things that are cluttering up our lives and holding us back 💐
Thank you Diana for your healing words. You addressed a situation I recently experienced and helped me let it go. Thank you. Moving on, Dawn, you have given me a new prospective on the “just in case” items that I have been holding on to. I think I can finally look at so many of my all ready purged cubes with new eyes, and just let so many more things go. I think I will start with artificial flowers, purses, that out of control, 30 years of jewelry collection that has already been purged. Now I’m ready to move on to the next level. I’m becoming a “purge addict “....... everybody has to be something, right? Have a blessed day. I enjoy your videos so much. I feel like you two are the good friends I haven’t met.
I started watching/listening to you two lovely ladies for about a month (where were you and UA-cam when I had a houseful of kids? lol). I was making steady progress, had to pause for a bit in July, but am at it again. I stopped this video when the jewelry discussion started, because I thought about a necklace I haven't worn in years. Just put two necklaces in a baggie, started another clothes bag, and here we go again to fill another box for my local thrift store that doubles as the Washington County, NE food pantry. Thank you!
One of my most cherished memories is digging through my grandmother's jewelry box with her. She occasionally gave me pieces and although I never wore them a single time in public, I absolutely still love them. Therefore, I can't declutter my jewelry box because I so want to have that experience with my granddaughter, should I ever get one. 💖
After 20 years of military travels we have decided to stay in our tiny 1008 sq ft “first home” we purchased 15 years ago. We reoccupied it 4 years ago but held on to everything from our previous 2400 sq ft home which is a lot but only because we didn’t know what we would need long haul. So no room by room I am going through and renovating and purging. I have always done things minimally, clothes etc... but this has been soooooo freeing... except for homeschooling stuff... I have an 8 year gap between kids... and the curriculum we use is expensive so I am just boxing it by year... but other than that it has been wonderful finding your channel and getting back to the heart of what I have always tried for... my kids are not so much a fan but I have been going through and pulling out everything that is overwhelming to them.... the easiest way to see you have too much is when you go camping and there are no fights... then you come home and they are arguing over toys.... so we are getting back to our heart and family’s values. Totally off topic but thank you for being there...
Thank you for today's discussion and please thank Diana for her prayer. I've been going through some stuff (first world problem stuff) but still stuff, and I've had these lightbulb moments reveal how much spiritual warfare is taking place around me. More importantly, how I'm paying more attention to the "voices" of doubt, guilt, shame, trying to figure it all out on my own instead of handing it over ... I'm mind blown that the words coming out of Diana were exactly what I needed to hear in this moment. God is certainly using both of you as vessels to speak His words into others and I think it is beautiful to see your servant hearts and following what the Holy Spirit is prompting in you. This is like the 5th video this year that has hit me ... in a good way. I'm in awe that 2 women 10 states over are pouring into me as if we're friends who met for coffee, I vented, and then my friends prayed over me. And yet we've never met. :) God is good, always. Please, please, please keep doing what you're doing. God is using you and you both are helping and impacting so many. Also, thank you for all the household tips; I've decluttered a TON of stuff this year; the perspective of inventory and silent to do lists were at the heart of why I was such a grump at home. Now I can see the light. lol
Dawn you have changed my life. I'm so much happier and I love my tiny home even more. I have always thought stuff is what I needed but less is definitely more. Thank you so much for sharing!!!
Thank you so much for your honesty and transparency.... so many things you both stated have bothered me through the years, but the Spirit has used you both to give me peace and resolution.
You have helped me so much to admit I need to leave my fantasy self behind. I have literally got rid of so many trash bags of clothes. Shoes. Handbags. I’m still struggling to get my wardrobe down to pieces that go together, but have accepted that this is a process. It won’t happen quickly or easily. I have just sorted my jewellery box and donated so much too. I have kept just a few special necklaces and pieces that have memories that I love. Classic pieces. I also seem to be able to make choices each day as I go in the wardrobe to let other items go. The calmer I become over it the easier it is to realise what I don’t need anymore. So thank you.😊
Just a beautiful message, brought me to tears. I love your Sunday morning videos, they fill me with peace and comfort. You have helped me SO much getting back to my soul, decluttering, getting rid of the "chatter" from things. I'm so grateful I found you! My mantras: Own less, want less. Look around, all that clutter use to be money. Letting go of physical clutter also declutters the mind and soul.
Tears of joy and heartfelt gratefulness as I listen to Diana’s prayer of hope!!!! God Bless you both as you bless all who open their heart to Jesus!!! Thank you! 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for your powerful testimonies! I’m a Mennonite Christian, from NW Ohio, & appreciate your thoughts & prayers. I have been enjoying your channel for awhile now.
Dawn, your advice to talk with someone about what troubles or worries us is spot on. I've learned (and advised my kids) to do just that because as things swirl and jumble up in a brains it's like a monster in the closet and seems bigger and more insurmountable than it really is. By speaking it, putting it into words, we can see the issue more clearly and we're better able to address it wisely. Then that big, overwhelming monster can be seen for what it really is...not as impossible as we first thought. Thank you and Diana for your videos. The messages are so helpful. XO❤
Thank you Diana, this is exactly what I needed to hear today. Actually had someone hurt me with their words and actions at church today, of all places. Giving forgiveness is hard but those who forgive, shall themselves be forgiven.
Man, that is such a powerful spin on letting go of things -- "Diana discovered she doesn't love this necklace anymore" -- what an affirming way to just be ok with it! I finally acknowledged [somewhat painfully] that there are a couple of books I'm simply never going to read/finish, but now I can simply say I discovered I don't actually enjoy this author/content like I used to! This is so profound, thank you, ladies! ❤ Additionally, I really feel like I had a perfect-timing visit in a car with some long-time friends. Your understanding and kindness and spiritual encouragement mean so much to me. Lovely to see you! ❤❤
Diana, I always especially love it when you join Dawn. You always bless me! You share such meaningful scripture and messages that seem to be just what I needed to hear. Thank you so much for the beautiful prayer you always close with, it really touches my ❤ heart.
I absolutely love these Sunday videos and the spiritual side of it all. I'm so ready for the Spring of the Holy Spirit in my life. Come in, sweep away the darkness and bitterness of this long long winter of the soul. Thank you both so much... may God richly bless you.

I started the Bible Recap a couple of weeks ago because of these videos too! It's awesome!
If things are ‘cute’ or basically decent they therefore can be donated quite happily by me. The things I struggle with are things that are not good enough to donate and then just going to landfill.
They are going to the landfill now or later - let it be now.
The landfill is a better place for them than your house. Our homes are not garbage storage facilities.
This is my exact struggle. If it will only be tossed as not good enough to sell-I feel like I should just continue to use it, broken. Especially if I would just buy another one(even at resale). 🤷♀️BUT,
I do want a clear house, and a better image of who I am to others- for myself not to impress them.
Love your videos!! Yesterday I decided to get rid of two Build A Bear stuffed animals that have been in my closet for over 10 years!! LOL
I won’t!! Thanks!! 😊😊
"Enough of saving for some day" - Yes! good job! the some day's used to fill my spaces - not anymore! love it!
Cracks me up when Diana looks at Dawn and says, "I didn't used to forget this much, did I?" because she forgot if she is forgetful.
🤣🤣
Diana, that was a beautiful and touching prayer at the end. One that I needed to hear today. Thank you!
I am new to your channel but am so uplifted by your comments and testimony. Thank you for taking this time to share and encourage....
Awesome prayer and encouragement. Thank you both.
Diana’s devotions bring me so much joy. I absolutely love that you make them a priority on your channel. It’s refreshing in this world we live in. 💕
You ladies are so encouraging and helpful . I have begun listening to you to calm myself down when the world is getting too crazy.
Thank you both so very much for your beautiful gifts to think upon this week. They mean so much. You are appreciated & respected dearly, Diana and Dawn.:)
Thanks for changing my world! ❤️
Thank you for the beautiful message of offering and asking for forgiveness. That is very refreshing and so needed! 💕
Yes! I was pretty minimal pre COVID but covid/quarantine made me clingy... I’m totally purging today now though, it’s time! Thanks for the inspo!
I love the Sunday morning shows❣️Have a blessed week✝️🙏🏻❤️
Love what you said about spring time and new beginnings and witnessing things for the first time.
I have just started the video but I can tell you I need to hear it today LOL I have two boxes of cute stuff that I don’t use but I can’t seem to get rid of. Maybe today is the day!
Diana needs her own Bible study channel.. She has a gift!!
Susan Heck is a wonderful women’s Bible teacher - her channel is With the Master if you’re interested.
She’s a pastor.
@@debm3716 Thank you! ♡
Agree!
Thank you for the prayer of hope - it has been lacking in my life lately and I feel blessed to be reminded by your prayer - HOPE is there!
What a beautiful devotional! Thanks for sharing. We are certainly coming out of a "spiritual winter" right now. Praise God for new beginnings!
Thanks ladies! The silver lining of the pandemic has been discovering great UA-cam producers like you! It seems like just a few weeks ago that you celebrated 300K!! Congratulations on your great success!!🌻
I absolutely love these sister service videos 💞🙏🏼 what beautiful passages.
Thanks for mentioning 'spiritual winters' reminding me that the hope of spring comes spiritually too. Also to quit rehearsing the past that cannot be changed and just to turn it over to the Lord. I so enjoy the Sunday morning chats.
I love that thought, spring cleaning our habits!🤔👍🏻🙏🏼🇺🇸🇬🇧
You two encourage me so much on Sundays!! Also, I have that same tray and it does exactly what yours does, it’s uneven. However, I have a fabric storage ottoman for my coffee table now and I use it on there to set things since you can’t set it on the fabric and it works Great!! I imagine someone finding that at goodwill or whoever you took it and being so excited and it working great for them!!
I would love for you to do a current “financial benefits” of minimalism. ❤️
I so look forward to Sunday mornings with the two of you. Before I get ready for church I love to watch and soak up what you are sharing. Thank you for all you do. 💚
Girls.... this was beautiful.... i thank you for this today!!
LOVE this!!!!
I felt the Holy Spirit in the prayer at the end today. I have had a rough couple of days and being prayed over by Diana’s calm voice was so uplifting and encouraging to me. Thank you for being a light in this dark world!
yes, lets rejoice in Spring !!! I love your channel. diana thank you for today's prayer.
Sometimes it’s not just the things that are cluttering up our lives and holding us back 💐
Dawn your ideas have really helped me to change my life.. I love minimalism now!
Amen! Your prayer spoke to my soul directly, I needed to hear this today! Thank you!
We are moving and I've been re-binging your channel... It's been helpful for the reminders to go slowly and do it in sweeps.
Wow, this is all just so cool to read!! Thank you and many, many blessings to you!!! (We feel like we know you, too!! 💕)
My husband is FINALLY getting on board to declutter his stuff. Most of it is old computer stuff which has been outdated for years!. Yay!
Your haircut is so cute, Diana! It is so fun to watch you both. I have always wanted a sister, but never had one. You are both so blessed.
Thanks so much for adding the spiritual aspect of spring cleaning. It was really good!
Now I can see the light. lol
Thank you for this today. I enjoyed listening and I hope to declutter more, and appreciate your thoughts and ideas.
Praying to make a friend that I could feel comfortable to reach out and talk to ❤
May God answer your prayers!❤️
It’s taken years for me to meet that friend. I will pray for you. 🥺♥️
@@meh5069 Thank you 💛
@@bamalamsue8720 Thank you ♡ I'm happy for you.
I hear you. May we learn to be our own friend too 💕
One of my favorite lines is "was I with me when I bought this"
Oh, that's hilarious!!
This is one of the most powerful conversations you two have had. I will watch this one over and over again. Thank you! 💗🙏🏻
You probably are off your rocker but we love you & we love it! I am trying so hard to just have the stuff we love & use. Keep it simple & love it all!
Dawn you have changed my life. I'm so much happier and I love my tiny home even more. I have always thought stuff is what I needed but less is definitely more. Thank you so much for sharing!!!
I ALWAYS enjoy these Sunday blessings video. Thank you.
Thank you! 🙏🙏🙏
Helpful and encouraging conversation on letting things go. Good spiritual word, too. Thanks!
Thank you ladies for these videos. I appreciate the verses and prayers. I'm learning alot.
Thanks for sharing! I really enjoyed the prayer at the end and hadn't realized how much I needed that but I did, thank you for all you guys do!
I praise God for your videos and devotions together. They really bless me. Thank you.
XO❤
I love your Sunday videos, they always make me feel refreshed. I feel like Diana knew exactly what I needed this morning!
Thank you Diana, this is exactly what I needed to hear today. Actually had someone hurt me with their words and actions at church today, of all places. Giving forgiveness is hard but those who forgive, shall themselves be forgiven.
You're amazing, I watch your videos as an inspiration/motivation and they actually help me get going. Thank you!
Diana- “Sorry neighbors.” Bwahaha. 😂🤣😂
Additionally, I really feel like I had a perfect-timing visit in a car with some long-time friends.
Well done there are people struggling and they would appreciate donations. The Almighty will bless you with more. I think your both lovely and relatable. 😘
