- 2,228m and over 30 million year old, this is Taita Hills in Tsavo, Kenya. During our stay at Lions Bluff Lodge we wanted to burn some of the delicious extra calories we ingested and there is no better way to do so than going on a hike.
The thing is, we did not pick the best day to hike Taita Hills. Fog and heavy winds were waiting for us from start to finish.

Next time you're in Voi / Taita, hike all the way up to Vuria hills. Highest point and has a beautiful viewpoint.

Next time consider Iyale, Wesu and finally Vuria Hill-those make up the Taita Massif, with Vuria as the highest among the pre-cambrian remnants. The pre-cambrian ranges stretch down to Usambara in Tanzania.

Dave and Stacy thank you very much for representing my home to the world. That looks like Vuria, the highest hill in Taita. We were there in 2019 to visits relatives And my Canadian born son said the same “we are high above the clouds”. Those winding roads and big boulders on edges, phew! We toured so many places in one month and he wished he could live there forever. We were without jackets for sometimes and people thought we were crazy but it gets chilly after sunset. Enjoy
