What I really like with Saph's maps is that there are options for navigable rivers, allowing for a cool way to send ships/trade routes out to sea without being fully exposed to the ocean coastline. And makes it actually more difficult to cross in war scenarios. Would be cool to see you play with those enabled some time

Ursa, I played Eleanor of Aquitaine for the first time after watching this series and have to say it was one of my most favorite leaders now. It was a continents map on deity. The last third of the game my empire had so much love cities we were coming over constantly. I won by science on turn 359 (it was down to the wire, but I pulled out the victory). As a cherry on top got the achievement "Majestrix of the Court of Love". haha. Thanks again!

I would assume Singapore is oddly placed as Portugal have spawned in Malacca which is where Singapore would be placed if it was TSL. You have most likely ticked the box that allows non TSL civs and city states to be placed randomly.

I would've settled inland... This could've been an epic capital with Chicken Pizza and camp pantheon (imagine rainforest fires further boosting the yields!). Too bad England pigeonholes one into building that unique district.

Here's an idea: Simulate the european invasion of south america. Start as inca/brazil/gran columbia with 3 to 4 techs behind. The challenge is defend your land vs colonial tech superiority.
The fact that you don't habitually buy monuments is probably the biggest mistake I keep seeing. It's so, so important to get your early government, anything over turn 60 is pretty for the Tier1 government is pretty bad. There is a lot of micromanagement of production and stuff that could be better but keeping a good balance of culture and science isn't easy and it's one of the things that holds a lot of players back, me included. Deity AI is relatively easy, so I like focusing on faith and gold in singleplayer to be able to buy all the things I want for fun ideas but in MP where gold is scarce and faith buy rushes are the most telegraphed play imaginable I get my teeth kicked in. 😅
ngl, lately I always turn off barbs in maritime-heavy games. They are simply annoying, not challenging. And like Ursa said before, they are better defenders of AI cities than the AI itself.
