ABOUT COLDPLAY
Since forming at university in London, Coldplay have gone on to become one of the planet’s most popular acts, selling more than 100 million copies of their nine Number One albums, which have spawned a string of hits including Yellow, Clocks, Fix You, Paradise, Viva La Vida, A Sky Full Of Stars, Hymn For The Weekend, Adventure Of A Lifetime, Orphans and, most recently, Higher Power and My Universe.

Strong Pink Floyd vibes from this song! This is masterpiece!
Exactly my thought
The chorus reminds me of Brain Damage and Comfortably Numb.
The Division Bell.

Some coldplay songs aren’t for hits.. They were made for the people who needed to hear that! ❤️
Such true words. ❤
But this is also the most complex composition, the musical techniques are all experimental and yet a flex on them making that experiment of chords work.. the lyrics are perfect.. for our world and meant for humanity
This is NOT just a song. This is a magical experience. Close your eyes & listen to it

This is not a song. It's an experience.
This is why I love bands like Coldplay, Pink Floyd, and Nightwish (them being my favorite band of all time). Their music are works of art and they are the masters of storytelling through music.
Amen
Coldplay sucks, my music better
@@Lauren_210I personally disagree with putting Coldplay’s in the same bracket as Pink Floyd even though I like Coldplay music It’s a bit of a stretch to say most of their songs are works of art but I guess everyone musical taste is different.
@@jackbauer5455 basically many people have multiple types of bands as their favourites.
Now imagine being at a Coldplay concert and they play this, with all the colours and sights they normally put on at one of their shows… you’d be transported to a place of such uniqueness, you’d never forget it. I can’t wait for their next tour, it’s going to be amazing. AGAIN!
Especially the part where he goes “sing it out OHHHHHH” it would give you goosebumps in a stadium! 😩
i can't wait
And he'll say " you peasants enjoying your vaccine!?"
I've thought about this too!! If they structure their set list like usual, Music of the Spheres / Higher Power will be first, and Coloratura will be the final song.
I‘m so looking forward for this moment😍
Arguably the best song Coldplay has ever written. The structure (chord changes; melody; lyrics ) is just superb. This is Coldplay flexing their musicality.

Still can't believe that they aren't playing this song in the tour. It is THE best song of the entire album and it makes me sad not hearing it live.
Looks like they played this in the first leg in Central America. From North America onward, they cut this song out. I went to their Santa Clara and Chicago shows in May 2022.
They played in the last concert of Mexico City, I got very lucky.
They should play it absolutely and Jonny has to tune the guitar at the solo….
Can't wait to see Coldplay live awesome band 💙 absolutely, new & past song's incredible those lyrics & vocals just wow ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ great video 📷

Best song on the album.
Agreed
Yes, but to be frank, the competition wasn't that hard.
This song can’t carry how terrible the album was overall though.
By far, I was so disappointed with the album. It's saying something that My Universe was among the best tracks from the album
Absolutely, i'll tell you something: is their best song since X&Y

This song combines everything I've ever liked in the past ten years. From concepts to the cosmos, to the eerieness, guitars, and lengths of Pink Floyd, to the melancholy of Radiohead, to the dreamsphere and colors of vaporwave, to the kindness of lo-fi and the sweetness and love from indie. The warm hug of piano, the percussion dancing. The comforting vocals. It feels like it fits in my life. A culmination of my favorite things about music. It made me misty-eyed. It's wonderful.
I completely agree

Coldplay are truly universal I think. Lots of people think that makes them bland. I disagree.

Pink Floyd's influence is so strong, the interlude and the solo give me some Division Bell vibes, amazing
Dear Coldplay.. thank you for this song.. i am a special needs moma to 2 autistic babies..and a caregiver for my momma who had a stroke...life sometimes gets super heavy and i go and put in my earphones and put on this 'experience' and i literally just feel grateful for everything, the hard, heavy stuff too... thankful to a creator who made us all... it doesn't always make sense but with melodies like this, I can pick myself up and try again... thank you!!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤
There's something so special about hearing a piece of music that isn't bound by the normal conventions of songwriting, especially from a band that has worked so hard to hone the craft of creating songs that connect! The result is this immensely beautiful, utterly unbound piece of magic. An intelligent, and vastly emotional, work of art! The future of music is so bright. :') Thank you Coldplay.

I dunno why I started crying at 9:30 after being mesmerised the whole way through. Everything about this piece is incredible. This is not just music. This is SOUL music. Loved the song before watching this MV. The MV to me felt like I was looking at humans’ true form, we are not the flesh our soul lives in. i’m a huge prog fan and a lifelong coldplay fan. seeing this appear on spotify as their second single was LIFE CHANGING. this is their epic. to me they’ve always been prog pop, but now i think we can push them orchestral.
To me this speaks to me on many levels, reconnecting with people who I have lost and will reconnect with at the end of life, that our lives will continue in some way like stars of the universe. It is like we are all colourful lights and stars of a continuing universe that is so profound and deep and in a spatial time we can’t comprehend. Very interstellarish. The best music by Coldplay so far in my humble opinion. Hopeful, uplifting, celebration of life, the universe and deep connection of love between people you have loved and lost but still live on through the stars and our turn will come when we join them at the end of our time on this precious special planet called Earth. I could go on. I hope I am not the only one who feels these feelings/thoughts from this mesmerising music.

What an incredible song! Coloratura is a whole adventure sonically and lyrically. Coldplay's creativity is overflowing. Their genius is real.
This song is as powerful as Bohemian Rhapsody. A legendary piece of music it feels to become. It gets deep under my skin.
There’s no way to actually describe the special feeling Coldplay songs have. And this one in particular stumped me, at first it didn’t really click with me, but soon it grew on me and now I can’t stop listening to it. Somehow this song sounds so new, yet also old and nostalgic. I feel like I’m listening to several different artists at once, yet it also feels like such a classic Coldplay song. No matter how experimental they get, they never fail to give every song a piece of themselves. I hope they never stop making music, everything they make is so special. @Jarate Kid great comment. couldnt have put it better myself.
It's clear Coldplay don't care about making hits anymore. If they did they wouldn't be doing 10 minute songs. They just want to make their own music that they can be proud, but they will always be my favorite band of all time.
While I agree that this song wont be a top chart hit I would say their first single “higher power “ was a hit so I think they are trying to make music for everyone as far as I’m aware its their first and only 10 minute song.
Their recent song Higher Power was literally made for the charts. It was also co-written and produced by Max Martin who is hired to do that exact thing. Although I do agree that Coldplay like to experiment. We saw it with their previous album and ofcourse this song.
Not every song necessarily has to be a "radio friendly hit". The length and style of this song are reminiscent of Progressive Rock which is known for elaborate musical pieces with instrumental portions.
I personally love PR and glad they did this song.
Each song should be its own separate story yet not necessarily be that "hitmaker"
Besides...other than the 3 obvious interlude songs on the album only ONE other song other than Coloratura appear to be slower and "nonpop" sound. So...plenty of potential hits on this new album.
I didnt realize this was a 10 min vid until i saw your comment
Totally agree. Who needs hits when we have Coldplay the best band ever.

No Fix You, no Clocks, No Scientist or Viva La Vida...sorry for these great songs but this one litterally wiped away all of the greatest tracks they wrote in the past. This is their creaive peak so let's enjoy the moment because I strongly doubt they'll write another masterpiece like this.
no go check howard stems's channel, they performed it live there
