my dog was pretty good when she was under 6 months then she was really hard to train until she reached a year. All that hard work is worth it. Don’t give up anyone!
My sdit is just about 6 months and I'm just waiting for him to stop listening 😂 hes had lots of structure and training from the day he was brought home though so I'd expect that to help.
Hearing "your dog wont play outside if they're not used to being outside" was so good to hear for me. We got a new shelter dog who's two years old, and she has a lot of anxiety. For a blue heeler I expected lots of energy, but it's been the hardest thing to get her to play. The most we've managed is fetch indoors once a day for like five minutes. She loves walking outside but she definitely doesn't show interest in play even more out there. When she has an anxiety attack, she shuts down and doesn't like food, she doesn't pay attention to play to begin with, she won't listen to commands, and both comfort and leaving her alone don't help. We end up waiting it out in her crate where she calms down the fastest despite not enjoying her crate. She's a happy sweet little girl, but she's a little stubborn with commands so I've been doing short training sessions with treats to reinforce and teach commands which has been helping a lot. All in all, she's a well socialized sweet dog, but her learning is in progress. More than anything I want to teach her how to play like a normal dog
One of my favourite videos so far Zak ...makes me realise I expected far too much too soon with mine. The footage out in the park is sooo helpful thank you!!
I love your humor Zak! Thanks to make me smile a lot while watching your videos. Also big thank you for such a great job you do. You helped me so much with my first dog. He is now 8 months old and I love training him with lots of your tips and tricks.
We just happened to get our pup, Bowie, on almost the same day that this series started. It's was a beyond-pleasant surprise. It's been super helpful, so thanks for the hard work. We're thankful that we aren't dealing with Inertia levels of puppy biting, but we have our whole host of kinks we need to work out too! haha
Best4rtNiteClips ah yes, a fake trainer. Fake trainers always have well selled books that are number 3 on best dog training books. My pup has made amazing progress thanks to watching your journey with Inertia ! Positive reinforcement goes such a long way. Couldnt believe how fast our pup has learned

Hi Zak, i love how you use the timer on your phone, it really helped me be more patiënt with my 16 week old puppy! Do you have any rules on how long a walk should last depending on age ? I have heard of the 5-minute rule versus the 1 kilometer (Europe 😊) rule. Do you have a video covering that ?
I assume puppy class is a good place to meet some dogs for play dates. But can you talk some about how to find and vet older dogs for play dates for those of us who are new to the doggy community? Thanks again for the great series. Edit: I spel werds gud.
Very good content. I'm gonna get a samoyed so i'm watching all your videos. It's really reastic. Instead of 2 minuet video of before training and 2 weeks layer perfect dog.
I have a question for Zak... Do you ever wear the same pair of shoes twice? You have on a different pair every time we watch your videos or IG stories. Haha!

I love you just throwing things on the ground like the handful of cashews xD It obviously could happen easily so its good for training and also just hilarious to watch! lol
It's actually a good idea to take handfuls of things like cashews, if your dog is always used to just one or two things falling on the floor, then maybe one day you'll have a whole bag of something and drop it, and then the dog will react differently
Very good as always, and I like seeing both dogs in the episodes. Inertia is a wonderful looking border collie and helps to make me consider getting one one day. The park training was great.

1. Real world leave it. Leave the food alone on the table. 2. Practise leave it alone more often and surprise situations. 3. Playing with other puppy lola. 4. My samoyed is well behaved thanks to you!! But he does have an instict to go after birds, chickens, anything that can fly, it would be helpful if you could show us how to deal with the hunter impulse?
My girl charlotte has gotten leave it pretty well in the last week so we're trying to evolve it into "leave her" so that she doesn't jump up on our other dog. "Leave it" has been so helpful.
Rose Quartz Reptiles I love them too 😍🦆 So many cool birds in our area!! In an upcoming video for this series I got a shot of a cormorant spearing a little fish with its beak and I am so excited about it even though I bet you will be the only other person who really appreciates it 😂👍
@@breejustine Oh man, I cant wait to see that! The cormorant shot in this video was absolutely stunning. Ive seen night herons in my neighborhood spearing frogs in yards when it rains. You just really cant beat a beautiful bird!
Very interesting episode! Love following along with your training. One thing I can't help to wonder, is why "home alone"-training didn't start earlier? Why not start the training as soon as the puppy gets comfortable at home? Of course only for very short periods of time in the beginning but over time adding more time. For comparison, our puppy, at 4 months, is able to be home alone between 4 and 5 hours, without any anxiety or destructive behavior. Also, will there be an episode (or several) with off-leash walking? We're working on it at the moment, and want to be confident in our come when called, when the dog knows the leash is off. Again, love following along :-)

She’s really starting to get leggy and tall lol :)
Riley The Poo & Me Too! ‘Leggy’ I love it 😂
My samoyed is well behaved thanks to you!!
This dude is so funny!
She is so darn cute ❤️💕💕😍!
Do you have a vid when you teach inertia switch? Can’t find it
Me, a bird nerd, watching this video's opening: LOOK AT THOSE WHISTLING DUCKS!!!!!
The real question is: how many pair of shoes do you have?! 😱
INERTIA IS SO CUTE I LOVE HER SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!
