- Why do all my friends say their van bed is the best they've ever slept in? Here are 4 reasons why I personally think many people in vans get BETTER SLEEP! It's probably not what you think. Remember, sleep is one of the most important things you can do for your health! This is important stuff!

FINALLY A NEW VID
More coming very soon too! I have another edited, I just have to get my FAA Part 107 Drone Cert before I upload, or it's illegal to upload, since my channel is monetized. I finally have time to just concentrate on videos again, more coming very soon, and expect some cool drone footage now too!
@@OutdoorsEmbrace yess pls more
A large reason you get better sleep in a van is it's a faraday cage. Lots of 2.4 ghz, 5.8ghz wifi, and tons of frequencies of cellular devices (hundreds in a single block) interfere with sleep. They induce a very low electrical current when your body absorbs them. The more powerful the interference the harder for your brain to maintain "sleep brain waves".
Another big thing is temp. I'm renting a house right now and even 8+ hours after the hottest part of the day it still stays close to that temp. Want to cool it down? pay A BUTTLOAD of money on AC and it still barely holds temp close to outdoor at night.
I might purchase a van, to just keep in my garage and sleep in after watching this.
Haha, Clay :p
The reason is because we are "den animals." Our vans are modern caves. Most mammals have an instinct to seek safety in confined or sheltered spaces. Den animals like caves or cozy burrows where there is a high level of physical security, warmth and shelter from the outside environment. When we encounter a place like that, we call it "cozy." Coziness is a place that gives us the warmth and security our instinct craves without us necessarily being consciously aware of it. Hence, we sleep the deepest in the coziest places - which are...
Finally a new vid
Being on the move taxes your mind and body which makes you more tired and sleep more sound.
I sleep way better in my Van so comfortable and the fresh air, and the nature
fresh air + cool night temperatures.
I'm currently renting a room in a house from the 70s. Giant piece of shit. By 10pm when it's 70 outside it's still 85 inside. Want to open the windows? cool, just show the whole neighborhood inside half your house!
Only problem with gel/foam is winter freezing ROCK HARD
finally he is uploading
NO RENT financial concerns.
Great talking to you today Ryan .. Awesome Van Set up
Hey you commented! What's up!!!
great video, I would double check your audio levels though cuz your mic is hella loud
Oh, interesting. Can you tell me more about what you heard? It wasn't clipping. I am using a Zoom H6 to record audio now. Line in to camera so it syncs with video. I did actually have the wrong I/O from the zoom H6 this time, which made some unwanted artifacts in the sound, but I didn't think it sounded overly loud. What device are you listening on?
@@OutdoorsEmbrace listening on a chromecast connected to a samsung tv. This video just seems louder the average youtube video. The highs sound a bit crunchy, once i turned my volume down it sounds fine.
@@OutdoorsEmbrace Sounds like you have your mic in your mouth. Like you're talking normally but the audio is clipping as if you're yelling. Also compared to the last video I was watching at 75% volume perfectly fine, switching to this video I can barely listen to 5%
Only 4???? Hehe lol.
Me too when I went to Florida to visit my mom for Xmas. I was on the back patio couch by the first night.
I'll never go back inside!!!
welcome back
Oh, I'll be here forever!
FINALLY! A video! Anddd I love it!
The cinematic shots were awesome! The music was noice!
Hahaha the bed noises🤣🤣
Very informative! Well explained.
Currently on the insulation process , so excited to finish but enjoying learning new tbings with the build
Too much ✋moving in the video, lol. Nice video
I love your #2 reason. When I'm traveling and car camping, I LOVE waking up and using my solar shower outside and brushing my teeth outside haha! Puts you in a very positive mood. Really well done video. Love the editing!
Same here!
I sleep by far better in the single caravan bed than I ever did in house on a queen sized box spring. No more back issues, it’s more comfy with my chronic pain condition and I parked it next to my horse paddock. Bliss!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. Love it!!!
I wanted to get a van to live in for a long time just to discover that here in Denmark vans are taxed so hard that it was easier to find a cheap flat...
That sucks
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed watching. :-)
Good to know
Super cool. 🤠👍
I’ve gotten some better sleep on my foam couch than on my spring bed. First reason is pretty accurate.
Do you have a video of how you put a sink and stove on the right side? It looks really great 👍
I agree! I need to get a foam bed for the house cuzz the spring bed is killing me
My TT sleeps great 👍🏻💤🥳
Same as a boat. I sleep sooo good when I'm out on the fishing boats!! The gentle rocking of the ocean and hum of a diesel generator in the engine room also helps!! I have a few questions for you.. what's your IG? I'm trying to build out my van on the cheapity cheap cheap. I hang a hammock inside. It was hard to get used to but after a month I started sleeping SO well!!
I have a different theory, the house is stationary and the van will sway from your movements and the wind which is very relaxing. Sleeping on a sail boat is also very relaxing because of the waves and wind.
I do agree with this too! Many other great points I could have put in this video... I make do a part two.
@@OutdoorsEmbrace That's true, you made lots of good points and everyone will have something of their own too add.
Looking forward to more new vids and the new build!
I always have thought about going for van life. Convincing my girlfriend to join me is what's hard to achieve as I live in NYC so much more ideal than the current situation with the ridiculous rent prices. Oh by the way your microphone is clipping ( to loud ) causes distortion in my studio, my equalizer filtered most out but nothing is perfect. Just turn down the input on your microphone about 3 to 6 decibels. Thanks for the video and knowledge man! Knowledge is power, let's spread it!!!!
Yeah! I have a new microphone. Zoom H6. I just set it up wrong. Will get it right next time.
If a 6'3 person can comfortably sleep in a van, dude anyone can (I'm 6')
And KNIFEGUY is right for anyone else reading this! I am 6'3" and I sleep so well in my van that I rather sleep in there when visiting friend's and family's houses.
@@OutdoorsEmbrace I remember the first time I saw that in your video I was like "how the hell are you 6'3 and can sleep in a van like that"
@@McGowanForge well you do get to build your bed any size and any way you want...
I got one video idea. Cooking in a van. Indian style
The happiest moment of my life was sleeping in a tent in the woods while working for the boy scouts. I'm getting ready to start soon with my current town and country. I'm looking to get a subaru forrester as my current van will only do for the next year or so, any thoughts on subaru forresters? Btw do a video on blm land and other wooded areas that offer free camping.
I sleep better in my Dodge Grand Caravan than My apartment to the point I got rid of the apartment. Much Happier.
Considering living in my suv to save money for a van build but I’m not sure how to sustain that or find time to even build it yet
Great video! Now all you need is a Hydro Flask! 😋
Yes! Thank you guys for sending it!
I dunno. I think you're right about everything but when I was homeless and had to live in my car I was always aware of potential danger, especially after a guy was murdered on the sidewalk next to where I parked. But the difference is choice. If you plan like vanlifers do, it's a bit different.
I do agree however that it can feel quite safe sleeping in a van, even with all the dangers outside. In a house, people know theres people in there but in a van its not certain that theres someone inside... Sure thieves might try to bust into your van, but if you don't give away too much outside I don't think they will have reason to do it (regardless for stealing the vehicle itself). Especially if you make it hard-time for people to even see whats going on. You could also install multiple locks for each door just to be more on the safe side. For me atleast, I enjoy sleeping more in tighter places where I can't be seen that much especially in here where theres a lot of insulation going on. Also having a firearm definitely makes you feel more safe... This van is also built very stealthy and most people would probably ignore it as they pass-by.
Legit got a hotel for 2 nights, both nights I only got 5 hours of sleep... meanwhile literally after said 2 days, in my van I got 8 hours lol
Great video, but you are making it exclusive by saying van instead of nomads. You are forgetting about buses and box trucks
how those ceiling vent work? dont rain start pouring in?
Nah, it has a rain guard up top.
👍
Good vid. Why are you yelling all the time though ? A vid about relaxing sleep at infomercial voice levels.
Can you tell me what your audio sounds like in more detail? It might help me in my next video. I did actually make an error recording this one off the wrong output of my new Zoom H6.
@@OutdoorsEmbrace sounds like your microphone is almost clipping
Give us new video
New Video out Today!
what happened to the boat?
It's gonna be little bit more before then. I love van life and plan to get another van first... then a bus and boat in the future
@@OutdoorsEmbrace next van better be 4WD!!!
That would be nice! It's gonna be the tallest and longest Ford Transit most likely, so I can stand.
How I can make money to build a van like you 😕
P.s I like you're videos 👍👍👍👍👍👍🙌🙌🙌
That is a very personal question. Gain skills that will make you money! Focus on learning more skills
And you have no worries about making ripoff monthly rents...je je
If I don’t park on level ground I sleep like shit.
It's because it's really a rack, shh
I'm sry but wtf is wrong with your mic
Sorry, did something different this time. I have the Zoom H6 now and I had it too high and plugged up wrong.
just change your house bed wtf
You should take the mic out of your mouth
