Kind of, it's really faded and worn out. Takes like a hour for it to warm up and look good even back in the day. Had 2 identical, one died. Bought them used for like $100 each in the early 2004 or something.
My first PC was a PIII 450 on an Abit BE6-II and eventually OC'd the processor to 600MHz which was very simple. It had 64MB RAM but I later upgraded it to 192MB by adding a 128MB module of PC133 at a later date. It was running Window 98SE at first but I later installed 2000 pro on it and finally it was running with 256MB RAM which made little difference in XP from 192MB. I learnt a lot from that PC as I started to learn basic coding such as VB and HTML back then after messing about with Basic on a BBC Model B at secondary school and spent a fair bit of time changing the code behind the legendary Snake game! I built a T-bird 1000 AXIA-Y based system in 2001 I think it was and overclocked it to 1333MHz simply by changing the FSB from 100 to 133MHz. I built the system and installed 512MB DDR PC2100 (184pin) Crucial memory (2 x 256) and I THINK it had Micron chips and was very stable memory but the processor tended to run on the 'warm' side to say the least lol Had a GeForce 2 MX400 in the system at the start which was actually not as cheap as you might think back then and later wanted to upgrade the GPU to a GF2 GTS / Ultra but was only usually playing older games and then I recall downloading SoF2 sometime early in 2003 and got addicted to playing this FPS game and was always told to 'turn off my cheats' as the mods on most servers 'assumed' I was a wall hacker but no, I was just able to hit a frag limit of 50 when the second place person was on between 15 and 20 and when the frag limit was 100 I would usually get to the limit when second place was on 50-55 frags. Was very amusing at the time and looking back on it, it was worthwhile! I had 19 computers at one time all at the same time (prebuilt & self-built & overclocked) plus two laptops (slideshow of them on my channel) and had 3 x Compaq AP550 tower workstations with dual PIII 733, 866 and 1000MHz processors and they ran 2000 pro due to NT stability and SMP support of course. I had another dual processor PIII - this time a HP with 667MHz PIII's & 256MB RDRAM (RAMBUS) and the AP550's all ran 2 x 256MB RDRAM and each had an 18.2GB SCSI 15k RPM HDD and yeah, the combined noise of the PSU fans and SCSI HDD's (accessing as well as spinning up when system powered up.)
I'm not sure, I wouldn't be surprised. It wasn't particularly high end, so I don't see it costing them a lot, and it's kind of cheaper to make all the same motherboard, just changing the CPU and other addon parts.
Actually you can find the bios partition disks online...create the diskettes. Boot from diskette before you partition the hard drive and the software will let you create the bios partition. Took me ages to find these disk images though....
I remember seeing this error when I had a disk in a floppy drive but unlikely to be using a floppy drive in this day and age lol Make sure the HDD with the OS on is being recognised by the BIOS and if it is then make sure the boot order priority is set correctly within the BIOS so the boot HDD is the first boot device or second if you have an optical drive installed.
Hi i have compaq deskpro p350 if im not wrong. The power supply stopped working in late 2015 now im trying to power this shit on,but i dont get any beeps from speaker or something like that i can hear the new psu fan the Hard drive i can see the lights, but i got no display. Any advice?
Oh man. So you got a new PSU for it? Like new new or used new? My system glitched cause it didn't like the ram. Sometimes reseating components helps. Other than that I might have to be working on it personally to really know.
@@DATT The speaker started to post an error code. Its 1 short and 2 longs. I Googled but i cant find anything about it. I tried other gpu other ram. Diffrent power supply but still no display. Maybe the mb is dead idk.
Last computer I worked on that beeped weird like that, all I did was took it completely apart and put it back together again. But that was a fluke. Sadly, it can happen with those older spec systems, when a PSU dies, it takes other hardware with it. Check to see if the Mobo has any puffy capacitors.
@@DATT Yeah i know, but there arent bad capasitors at the mobo. Maybe its just very old or died from the psu. If i fix it i Will share how i did it. Have a nice day.
I recently bought the same system. And after buying it i found out the Bios was installed on HDD, and you need to install/ Setup the Bios from a floppy that is burned from another 95/98 OS. So, if you don t have the original HDD, you are fucked....
Yeah, I got a couple follow up videos where I have it sorted. Even updated the firmware. My video "Sparring with the Compaq Deskpro 2000 to get the bios updated" kind of goes thru the process. And even talks about where I found all the files to download.
Wooow one of my childhood computers!
👍
Man, you are so lucky with that Compaq Trintron. I've been hunting one for years.

Wooow. Was looking for videos abut my deskpro 2000 from trash and found you. Great that you have a guide for setting up the bios on this thing
Thanks. I had this sitting in storage, I had no idea I'd end up cutting so many videos of it.
Excellent Video... I love AMD.
Thanks !

Abit, oh wow, I forgot they existed.
That's quite the arsenal you had there. Makes me look like a n00b, haha.
compaq used f10 for bios.
Some systems even needed a special partition on the hard disk which would represent the bios setup
Yup. I have a few vids about this system. I since got it all sorted.
Over 10 years ago, I had Compaq presario, Intel Pentium 1 , RAM 8 MB. OS. Windows 95, but now it's all broken. 😂
All broken ? What you still ahve it ?
Cheers from Detroit!
Cheers !
Usually you can press Esc to cancel the RAM test on boot!
👍
Watching this because I also have a Deskpro 2000 that hasn't been turned on in 16 years
I wonder how many are left.
It was my first PC, I only remember mine came with a 166 Pentium MMX and 64Mb of Ram. Was the S3 Video Chip the same for all models?

Many of my compaq`s got this bios partition on hdd .
If you dont have it then you ffed

@@gregcoons7308 any links to the actual website? Would really appreciate 👍👍👍👍👍👍
@@gregcoons7308 Yep, but you need to have another pc with a 95/98/XP OS. Else, you cannot burn the installation kit on the floppy.
I have another video where I fix the bios.
my first PC ------ Compaq (Pentium) 133MHz, RAM 32MB, HDD 1.2GB, OS Win95 ------------- 1999year
That was pretty good for the time. If you could afford more than 16mb, you were pretty ballin.
Real Time macine!
Yeah, it kind of was for me.
I am stuck at the "Non-System disk or disk error", pls help
Oh, it won't boot ?
The hdd could be dead. YOu'd have to figure that out, maybe replace it. And reinstall an OS.
@@DATT Im going to reinstall an OS.
If the system is otherwise functional, that should do it.
I remember seeing this error when I had a disk in a floppy drive but unlikely to be using a floppy drive in this day and age lol

Dealt with the same shit on my Armada 7800. I still don't have BIOS access because every time I try to install the bios utilities, it errors out.
