Thanks a bunch! After a couple off seasons for cukes I am happy this great type is showing up so strong in the yard. :)

I struggle to grow the amount of cucumbers I really want during the summer months. I would be thrilled to have dozens of cucumbers harvested along with the dozens of peppers & tomatoes I usually have ready to pick in the garden from July to September. I usually get about half a dozen cucumbers before the plants get killed off by bacterial wilt introduced by the hundreds of cucumber beetles that always show up. I hate them even more than the vine borer moths LOL I plan to get the sees for the Chinese and Japanese cucumber varieties for 2025. I tried growing the Armenian cucumber, but those plants didn't thrive at all in my Michigan zone 6A garden, multiple plants and I never even got them to the point where they would flower before they would fizzle out!

Thanks tons! Having a salsa ready garden is amazing but not having enough ready at once is a huge downer. We have the issue often over here as well. Those beetles sound horrible. Our area is super high for getting powdery mildew but mostly that effects our squash the worse. Bugs don't get at us much because of our tiny yard but am bracing myself for future grows when we get into our forever home someday. The A. Cuke is a tough grow sometimes. If you haven't tried one before I think you should seek one out at a market or somewhere to try it though. Definitely a great type and was in our top 3 at one point but since have had issues getting it growing. :)

    Nice!
Mom didn't plant any cucs but she has squash, zucchini, eggplant and pumpkins going crazy - not to mention all those tomatoes.

Great review. I’ve grown both National & Boston. I don’t remember the taste. I don’t think they grew well that year.
I’ve heard of the rubbing to get the bitter out; pretty sure it’s scientifically accurate 🤔
Great tip to crisp them back up; I’ll have to try it!

Thanks a bunch! A couple good old fashioned yard cukes. We really like growing both types over here but there are a couple different varieties we see in our yard for the future. Still worth a grow though. :)

I've never seen a hole in a cucumber, weird.
Next year try the Beit Alpha Cucumber.
I think everyone does that with cucumbers, not sure why though. 🤣😂
The last cucumbers were poorly pollinated.

Thanks tons! I will have to look into that BA Cuke for a future grow. We plan to try from seed again next season and a couple changes to give cukes a better chance in our yard. :)

For me 2-3 inches is too big for pickling. But I like the baby dills.

Thanks a bunch! The smaller ones make for better/sweeter snacks for sure. :)
