Months can go by, yet I still get drawn back to this performance, as well the songwriting presented. It continues to be one of my very favorite Tiny Desk Concerts.

I was wondering if that was Hannah Georgas, another Canadian jewel.
Kathleen opened the show ( I forget the year ) for John Prine in Salt Lake City . When a legend like John likes your music , no other endorsement is required . A side note - I was going thru a box of stored CDs and found the signed CD of hers that my daughter bought at that show . Good memories .

Even when she sings about a sad theme it makes me smile. Just a great song writer who isn't afraid to break with convention.

Last year, visiting my sons in Hanoi, I spent a lovely evening listening to some lovely music . This was the highlight . So thankful for this wonderful artist and the trio for playing so beautifully
she is a treasure .. one of a kind. you know its here immediately when you hear it.
That first album, Failer, was the soundtrack of 2003 for me
Kathleen Edwards is the real deal. So glad she is doing some shows again, and can only pray for a new recording and maybe a future tour!

First impression was nostalgia for the old great folk song days of the early sixties,
of Judy Collins and Judee Sill, the songs from the heart, personal and emotional.
Tiny Desk is a great place to see such great stuff. I am really enjoying this . . .
Have seen Kathleen at 9th Ward (Buffalo) and last week at Geneva, NY and even my wife can't get Kathleen's music out of her head a week later. Can't wait for more.

Man, a friend introduced me to Voyageur when it came out and I loved the album. I never watched any live performances and haven’t returned to Kathleen’s music in many year but seeing this performance made me realize what the songs meant to me, a great deal more than I thought. Hope to see you live soon in CA Kat!
That's right, Hannah has been opening for Kathleen on tour this year and also singing backup. What a treat! I caught their performance in Victoria. Even after coming down off the high of watch the performance I still feel it was the best concert I've seen. Her whole band is fantastic (Gord Tough, who you see here, does fantastic solos, and Jim Bryson on keyboards and sometimes lead bass would take us all into some other realm once he started pogo-ing).
I love her music! I first heard her on the CBC Radio 3 podcast.

Kathleen Edwards is a new discovery for me today. I had heard her name over the years, but hadn't heard her. Pleasant voices and melodies, strong point of view lyrics. House Full of Empty Rooms is evocative. Tiny Desk is a great showcase for good writers.

When I hear A House full of Empty rooms I imagine staring at frostbitten fields of grass through a second story window of a red brick rural Ontario farmhouse on a cloudy November day.
