The beefy Heidenau Scout tires arrived, it's time to mount them and get a first impression of them out on the road before we go off-road next week.

These days even proper off-road tyres have incredible handling on the road. I have the Mitas E-10 tyres fitted atm and I’m throwing my 1250GSA around as if I had say Michelin Road 6s fitted instead.

Have these on my Triumph 900 scrambler and have to say they are excellent all year round tyres ,despite their look they are very grippy and predictable they also wear well, a bit more resistant to punctures and with stiff sidewalls you'd be able to still ride 'within reason' to somewhere safe to repair. Reasonably priced too compared to other brands.

Looking good! I’ve had the Heidenau Scouts for about a year and I love them - they give the bike a serious look! Bret Tkacs reviewed them quite a while back, and they’re a great value. I’ve got an ‘05 1200GS with Öhlins and the ride is great and some “beefy” grip in dirt and sand for sure. I do get quite a bit of road noise from the front but it’s fine really. I’ve heard they’re not great grip on wet roads but hey I’m in SoCal. Should be a great session with Nico! 🏁

What differences have you noticed between the road tyres and the Heidenau tyres on the road in term of control and handling? Maybe an idea for your next video.

I want to try the K60 Scout tires on my 1250 GS, but I'm concerned about the wet road and braking performance. I would appreciate any feedback.

Don't have any yet, just put them on, give it a few weeks/month and then I'll have some experience with them 👍😊
