Just a quick thanks for this. I wasn't sure how much needed to strip to change the springs on my st220. It's a MK3 but I reckon the order of disassembly is pretty much the same. So this is a real help
Lovely video that shows it looking so easy. Some of them bolts are really siezed in and torqued up really tight..Need to have some heavy duty impact skt's and a really high torque impact gun to attempt these jobs and that's coming from a 17.1/2 stone muscle'y mechanic with 50 years experience
Nope not on the Mondeo, strut leg is too long, you'll pull the drive shaft out of the gearbox and control arm won't lower enough anyway. Ford workshop manual states drop link top nut, cv axle and ball joint all need to come off. But you can take more off it's longer but easier in the end. I found the hub hard to manuevre with track rod end still attached so I took that off too. Brake probably didn't need to come off but just 2 bolts
Legend, thanks for this i struggled all afternoon yesterday with my front off side shock !
No problem 👍

WD40 sprayed up a day or two in advance helps a lot here.
Nice one Paul, Thanks for sharing, Stay safe.
Thanks, will do!
U only take the drop link off and the pinch bolt and u can drop the hub from the shock too make life easier for urself mate

When will you be doing the rear electric windows
As a Mondeo owner, I appreciate your videos.
Where in the UK are you out of interest?? Thanks.
I'm in Norfolk
Noticed that you had different springs on the 2nd hand ones compared to the old one. Did you know that the coloured dots refer to the spring rates?
Yes coloured dots do refer to rating. It's why I purchased a pair to fit both sides. Second hand replacements where from a 2013 Titanium X
Were all the alignment marks lined up the first time it was replaced?
Yes it was.
How hard is it to refit the shock to the hub on the car? is it a tight fit?
Very easy to refit, just slides back into place, refit and tighten bolt
Молодец
