I want all those everything you need to know to ace books! I don’t homeschool but I have extra learning for her during the summer and then who knows what the fall will bring for school. So I’ll have extra stuff for her if the elearning is lacking like it was in the spring! My daughter will be going in 5th grade too and is in the gifted program so she’ll be doing 6th grade math and gifted reading.

I subbed because I don't use boxed curriculum either. I have 1 child that needs a customized approach. She is in 6th next year and will be doing world History, those books look great! 🙂. I use those reading comps too. We love the science ones they bring up interesting applied science subjects for conversation or further study.
It’s sound like your daughter has Dysgraphia . I wrote big for years . It’s a struggle for me as and adult I d” recommend handwriting books Writing without tears is a great source for handwriting problems. Writing big is a sign that there’s handwriting issues I d” look into getting her help I had sloppy hand writing too all over the place . Have her practice writing on shaving cream . American girl used to have a book Haileys horrible writing unfortunately it’s out of print . I d” recommend A nook or kindle . They re great for handwriting issues . Typing on the laptop is good ! I can relate to what your daughter Is going through The gift of learning is great too they address handwriting issues Amazon carries it !

Take it slow. Try a few books. See what your child responds to. It takes a few months to a year to get your groove. Even then, it will morph and change as they grow. You'll do great!
How do you test and grade her work, quizzes, and test? I love piecing different subjects together. It stresses me out though because I’m not sure how to or when to quiz or test.
We don't test regularly. You will know what they know and retain. We do test annually, but it isn't required. I created them myself just in word and excel. I change them up every semester or so as our books and things change. I just print a couple weeks at a time. I love having things that are customized to us, instead of buying a general planner.
