...years ago, I was told somewhere along that stretch there near Beardmore is a sand pit that contains some alluvial/eluvial gold...
Lots of pits along this section of the line. There's a big one just east of this area alongside the Kinghorn Road.
Some people also... we had a neighbor once who did this... used the old telephone poles for stringing laundry lines.
Let's just hope those poles aren't electrified

I want to say they cost a couple bucks each. Some people used them for retaining walls.
At first I though coupler pin, but then I though the hole was too small and tended to be a different shape at the top. 🤷♂
william ( Bill ) Kohut. I knew him. finished his as a rules instructor.
Kohut mean Rooster in Ukrainian. He was quite proud of the fact.
Nice. Interesting about the name...I'll have to remember that.
broken knuckle pin
Thanks. Knew it had to be something railway related.
Maybe a fat tire bike would ride better on the ballast
I've thought of that. Not sure if it will make enough of a difference to offset buying another bike. Unfortunately this is not a cheap hobby with all the driving that is involved.
