"Wow." That's my takeaway from this one. Just.. "WOW!"
I've seen some big fancy toy haulers, but this Momentum took some things to the next level. Granted, at nearly 17,000lbs empty weight they had the space to do things nobody else COULD do!
Everything on this RV is a little bigger than what you normally find from the full TWO bath to the full super slide with sofa AND dinette you just don't usually find in a super slide! The interior comforts and luxury on this feel more like a Solitude luxury fifth wheel than a "toy hauler" RV as well!
Even going thru this video.. I don't feel it does this RV justice. You HAVE to see one of these in person sometime even if you don't ever plan to buy one!

*PRICING: Grand Design has a rather uncommon policy preventing their dealers from advertising anything but MSRP essentially. As a result I neither have a good idea of what the actual sale price might run on this nor will the link in the video description be able to help you get anything but MSRP. As a result I'm basically **_forced_** to ask you to contact our team for sale pricing. It's not how I normally prefer to operate but wanted to let you know up front!*

This is the best toy hauler floor plan I’ve ever seen. Grand Design does have one that includes a sectional (can’t remember the model), but I LOVE that this one doesn’t need any extra steps when your closing the slides.

The garage area would be great for someone in a wheelchair. You would have to do a little remodeling of the bathroom to bring it up to handicap assessable code. I could see as a full-time camper.

We ordered ours, with all upgrades except Happy Jack, the extra steps, and chairs, a few weeks ago. We opted for the new silver and charcoal color. I wish I could find a good representation of the color. I am sure we will love it. We are going full time RV and plan to use the garage for living, as well as transporting our bicycles and maybe a dirt bike or two. And couple of Oru kayaks...this is why we chose this RV. The options for that garage are limitless. The other big selling point was the fresh water holding tank. We plan to boondock anytime we can so this was a big plus for us.

Love your vids Josh! I would really like to see a “toy hauler” series. Start from the smallest, lightest toy hauler and go up to the biggest, heaviest, most features unit. Garage size is important but not as much as livable space inside the rest of the unit. Feature all types also. From travel trailer through Class A. Just a thought.

    1) disc brakes
    2) roof top ac/heat pumps
    3)triple or dual pain windows
    4) 50amp cord storage reel
    5) wifi max booster
    6)vision system camera's
Coming from a forest river cedar creek these were standard with the exception of heat pump, and disc brakes.

This has been a favorite toy hauler for a long time, and it's getting more elegant. It's a great way to sleep all your tall kids. The older kids will also make that second full bath all the more clutch when avoiding shower-time arguments.🚿 It's great to be able to bring a golf cart if there are some small stores within scooter/cart distance.🛵 My husband and I can be a bit more economical when doing some light shopping, laundry if we don't hook up a washer/dryer, and ice and beer and ice cream runs on those warm evenings. I would add the solar package because once it's set up, sunlight is free.☀

Primarily between the Washington coast where we'll live and central California where the kids and grandchildren live. That back area will be the office for my wife and I. Reminded me of what Fuzion was doing when we first picked them up as Haylett years ago in that they were really focused on providing a more plush living experience. The "Toy Hauling" was almost a secondary thought on these. "Just make the garage big enough, then build a beautiful interior" sort of mindset

From someone who ordered the new THS floor plan last October, and picked it up two weeks ago, this is not the new THS floor plan. Garage is a foot longer in the THS (12.6 vs 13.6). The kitchen slide is wider, getting rid of the window and putting in an additional cabinet. Master bathroom has two entry points now and master closet is completely changed. Hutch is different and bedroom slide is deeper giving more floor space. THS is carpetless, even under couch/sofa. Shelf next to master bed is gone, due to the pocket door for the bathroom

Love this rig. Does Momentum have an option for an outdoor kitchen by the ramp door hinge at the back of the physical trailer?
I was going to make a joke about half ton towablity, but you cut that out, so I guess the new Ford Maverick, Honda Ridgeline, or Hyundai Santa Cruz shouldn't either....
Okay now a true serious question, because it's so big and it requires a big truck to tow it, are there any specialized license restrictions or requirements?
If I were to change anything, besides the shade in the main door, privacy wall from garage, and a door for the garage bathroom shelves, that you mentioned. For the love of God, would somebody please make bigger (like small platforms) ladder rungs for the loft and happy jack beds. Those rungs are so small that they hurt my feet. Another thing, not on just this, but almost every towable RV, the glossy front exterior wall looks great, but towing at night or dusk and dawn, the taillights of the towing vehicle glare and reflect. It really annoys me. I use my mirrors quite a bit more, but I'm constantly fighting the glare of the truck's taillight glare off my trailer.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  2 роки тому

That hinging camp kitchen thing is actually patented by Jayco so I don't foresee other brands using it (because they don't want to pay for the royalties).
Regarding licensing: Most states require no special licensing for big fifth wheels or large Class A motorhomes. Some may have some basic license endorsements that aren't difficult to obtain.

I watched another video on this model, and I think you are actually in a 2021 model. The 2022, the tall skinny window in the kitchen is gone and the slide is wider. The Washer/Dryer are in the middle of the nose instead of on the door side. And the main Bathroom, the vanity is on the other side of the wall and there is a door between the bedroom and the bathroom. Among other changes. Just FYI.

near perfect..... bed up top in back blocking a/c not good, bed be up during the day, all it is doing is freezing the mattress. at night when bed may be down less likely to need it, but i would just get rid of that bed anyway most likely, more than enough other places to sleep. bunk with ladder would probably just be storage anyway for me. far as stereo goes, new one on me, i just assumed all of them had option for inside outside both at least... even if not seperate volumes, any 70s stereo had speakers A and B or both... very simple, i can build a speaker switcher in 5 minutes if had the parts sitting here for under 5 bucks, or just buy one for 10 or 20 ... radio shack was one of my favorite stores as a kid in early 80s. i think simple option would be just seperate stereos for inside or out... especially since will want seperate things on at seperate volumes most of the time anyway... tv with super bowl outside while music and game on silent inside or such..... and if want same music on both systems, linking them blue tooth is perfectly doable so that they act as one on music control, but seperate volume controls regardless (i have a pair of speakers that prove this, use them camping in boonies) ..... 2nd full bathroom excellent. only thing is that bunk up there blocking the a/c during the day, that would bug the hell out of me both during the day when trying to keep room cool, and having to get in to that all day frozen bed when drop it down at night.... just get rid of it, give a bit more roof clearence anyway.... or make a removable option, some will want it just having the a/c on it 6 inches away all day is rediculous....... i may want to listen to black sabbath on inside stereo while playing bigfoot hunter video game with surround sound on outside tv while out there at mount shasta where people disappear and such with my back to the forest. 2 seperate blue tooth enabled stereos which can just link music selections to each other when needed is by far cheaper than building and wiring a single system with an ass load of inputs and varialbe selections. each one can be set up for whatever level of power you want individually... have 5000 watts powering fender stacks outside if want to. while the girl quietly watches law and order inside. and yes i do know a campground where 5000 watts of music coming off your rv would be acceptable, and need toys with you as well.... burning man.
