You cant beat french cakes. The park up looks amazing. The none toll roads are much nicer the little villages and see no one for miles. Happy Holidays Both
Hi Rob, Lynn and Mavis, hope you get your electrical problem sorted. Have a lovely journey through France with lovely park ups (well done Lynn). Merry Christmas and Happy holidays 😊
Hiya Rob and Lynn sorry about your electrics hope you get them sorted ...Like you said thank goodness for our Leisure Batteries and Power Banks thats one thing we need to invest in we have the solar panels and Leisure Batteries but definitely need a power bank then your free to wild camp ....,Loving your park up it looks a beautiful spot for sure ...Dont forget to pick Rob up from his stay in the Zoo on there lovely Hay Beds 😂😂😂sorry Rob lol .... Oh i bet the pastries are yunny i love a Croissant when i can eat 😮..... Enjoy your yummy Curry and couple drinks see you on the next one ....Take Care ...Stay Safe ....xxx😊😊🐶🧡🧡🧡
Hi Allison our electrics at the moment seems to be have corrected it’s self so at the moment all is good 👍 power banks really do come into their own don’t they when you need them, we hope your having a wonderful festive season xx
Sorry to hear about the electrical system playing up; typical that it waits until you have left the UK! I look forward to hearing what the real problem is caused by. I agree with you Rob about the driving being very tiring; it is a problem for me being on my own so there is no one to keep me alert and concentrating, which means that I have to stop after about 4 hours. Lynn you mention the data limits. Earlier this year I switched to EE for my broadband, a few months later I upgraded my mobile, also with EE, and got a special deal where for a very small monthly charge I get unlimited data throughout the EU, N America, Australia and New Zealand. I visited the EU after taking the package and absolutely no problems with having unlimited data; I am currently in Australia and again no issues with getting unlimited data, although I do have to pay for phone calls if I am not calling through an app. It is a real game changer for me and the monthly charge is only something like £2 per month which is very affordable. I hope this info may be of some help to people.
Hi Neil, we are on hook up now so we will have to see how we get on when we go off grid again, and yes it always happens at the worst possible time. Driving four hours seem sensible as you’re on your own. Thank you for the information about EE. I’ve been with EE for years. I will have to have a look into this next time we come abroad take care and Merry Christmas from both of us.
Hi Lynn and Rob wow that’s some drive you’ve done but you are right there are some lovely villages in France and without the traffic about it’s a lot easier to appreciate the scenery we love Provence and the Loire valley both well worth seeing! Agree about the carrefour you and Rob probably remember as I do the excellent carrefour which used to be at merry hill the cakes used to amazing and I always make a bee line for the ones in France which are just the same! Leclerc are also good if you are near one not quite as wide a range of products but good savings on booze over duty free usually When we went last in 2022 the petrol was about the same as in the UK and the tolls from Calais to Paris were about £50 for both ways but I agree not a bump or road works and found the French drivers largely very good and the services were good as well! Hope you got time to go in to Limoges it’s meant to be very pretty Sorry for all the power issues you have had and hope that they don’t affect you too much on the trip at least you have some idea what may be the cause Best wishes to all of you travel happily and safe best wishes Daniel
Hi Daniel, and yes it certainly was a long drive, but it was worth it. I really can’t remember a Carrefour at the Merry hill centre 🤷🏼♀️ The lowest price we e paid over here so far is 99p a litre 😮☺️ that’s in Spain but the price really varies from region to region. We drive through Limoges but sadly we didn’t have time to stop. Hopefully we’ve sorted the power issues but we will see, thank goodness we have the power banks Best wishes to you too Take care ☺️☺️
Hi Rob & Lynn. Not sure by the time you get my comment if you have sorted the van electrical problem out or not but if you disconnect the power supply to the van control unit let it drain out for a few minutes the reconnect this may clear the fault in the memory worth a go ?
Hi and thank you for the information it is appreciated 👍 the problem seems to like it has corrected it’s self at the moment but if it happens again I will give it a try 👍
Merry Christmas to you all 🎄🎄 Great video, I am following your journey, it must be so exciting.. The towns you went through were very cute and yes very quiet there.. Safe travels, I hope you got to Benidorm safe and sound .. Lots of love ❌❌🎄🎄🎄
Great video you 2 keep them coming did France recently travelled from dieppe back up to Calais through little villages ghost towns where all the people??
Float is fully charged, absorbsion is charging. Is your alternator charging as you are driving.? We have all victon products, separate from the motohome side. We have 700 watts of solar and 2x 135 amps of lithium. We lived in France for along time and traveled for years around France, a beautiful country and people.
Hi Rob & Lynn, i hope you are managing ok electrics wise. So pleased your travelling down the scenic route to Spain. So much nicer than the Toll roads. Take care, Dave&Jayne. 😊
Hi both. We once spent three days off grid and had power problems. All we could think, was the use of laptops or the auto term heater fan that had been running for a long time. No engine battery problems and a half hour drive charged everything back up fully. Little light these months, means little solar too. Sophie and I would like to wish you both a Brrriliant Christmas and thank you for all you post, and also do. On Friday we said our last goodbyes to my Uncle. Another victim of dementia. Keep up your good work. Best Wishes from D+S xx
@@deaddave8805 hmm, we still haven’t a clue what happened as we charged the leisure battery up with the Ecoflow delta max, it must have been a glitch with the control panel, well hopefully that’s all ur was. Aww thank you and we wish you both a very merry Christmas I’m so sorry to read this, we will continue to try and do our bit Take care both xxxx
Just watching your vlog at 18.45 hrs XMas Eve and you mentioned XMas card!!!! - Pause the vlog! - I had forgotten the wife's card. Sheer panick and round to the Coop to have the choiuce of 2 cards!!! Phew!
I think you're following the route we used to take 30 years ago before the A20 was finished! You will see villages with their village name signs upside down, this is showing the village is in solidarity with the farmers. Jo in France 🇫🇷
I recently had a problem with my Sargent and Lithium and it turned out to be the fuse on the lithium battery terminal had blown . Duff readings on the sergeant and the cerbo . Used a voltage tester to check current coming from lithium and it wasn’t matching the sergeant display . Due to vibration and a loose connection . Checked everything , tightened connection and put new battery fuse in . Sorted . My Sargent never gives right readings but the fuse problem was weird. I use my Cerbo GX display for monitoring battery use . As someone else said , factory reset the sergeant .

When you go through the French villages its as if they knew you were British and all shut themselves indoors. Watch out what you wish for, if you get roadworks you may have an enormous diversion to get round them. Have great Christmas.
Back in the day rob petrol & diesel were a pound a gallon mind you that was 50 years ago any way happy Christmas & wonderful new year if that's even possible under labor .
I'm not sure what command panel you have but i would suggest a hard reset, the panel is software based so may have been a glitch, Google whatever yours is for a hard reset, sometimes it's just a case of holding the on/off button for so long, happy Christmas Rob & Lynne
Shame about the Electrics! Roadworks here worst thing is they put of Temp Traffic lights and don't do any work!!! Or start it and bugger off for a few days then finish off! Both really pee me off!!
Instead of stopping in a bleak car park, why don't you use the aires? They are usually free and many have free services on them. Most towns have an aire.
You can often stay in supermarket car parks. SuperU/HyperU often have disposal facilities. Helpful when you are in the road
Hi we didn’t know that so thank you 👍
