I can't get over how many time's Scotty is calling other people "drug addicts" like he wasn't. He was high in this interview for crisakes! Then he dies a few years later from, wait for it... a drug overdose. At 45! People need to know that.
It's not as good as the interview where Bigelow was interview near the old WWF and WCW magazines. However, this is another classic interview by RF Video and Bam Bam Bigelow. RIP Scott Bigelow. I hope you are still smiling wherever you are.
27:17 - When the interviewer asked Bam Bam "do you think the wrestling would ever get that hot again", meanwhile this was in 1998 when wrestling was at it's peak! Just shows how the Attitude Era was just a typical time in the 90s.
This is set in 1998 just after wrestlemania 14.... He talks about the crappy match between Shawn Michaels and Austin (Michaels is chewing gum on the mat after getting knocked out by Tyson) triple h becoming the leader of DX and Vince getting in the ring to wrestle Austin. Bam bam was in wcw in 1999 so yeah....
The way he could go against the ropes that fast and duck his head... Dude was finense... He never seemed to be able to get real heat or sympathy though... The Bam Bam character was cool, but weird... It was too neutral
Great interview. Bam Bam was very insightful and had a great sense of humor. This wasn’t supposed to be a joke but I did laugh out loud when he said he wanted Razor out of the ECW show because he was high and they didn’t do that in ECW. Half of that locker room was smoking crack lol.
I was in a rut when I was 18 and I was bouncing from job to job. Then one day I just said I should just go to college. So I went to college and graduated and I have been doing good ever since. Sometimes you can be your own worst enemy. Never give up and just keep trying to be the best you can every day on a daily basis.
27:16 weird how that question even had to be asked but it just shows that sometimes we don't know when the good times are actually happening. But then again as a young teen in April 1998 I was loving wrestling along with so many others and I could feel it clicking on all cylinders.
Definitely an old video. Sad hearing some names like Vader and Hall etc mentioned. That all said I absolutely loved this. As a teen growing up watching Bam Bam and his amazing agility and moves I absolutely loved this.
It's not right that a humble main event wrestling athletic giant like Bam Bam died penniless. He definitely should have had better success and support. He was a down to earth dude, honest and no BS given his fame. Saved children from burning to death and despite his addictions and failures he definitely was a solid guy and didn't deserve the cards he was dealt. Too bad he didn't live longer RIP to the Fiery Giant 🔥 💪🏽🍺🍺😎
Thanks for this upload! Regarding the Vince in the bar story, something doesn't add up with Bigelow saying he was there. He talks about the Road Warriors being there, but he was never in the WWF at the same time as them. He says it happened in Massachusetts, when according to Bret Hart this all happened in San Antonio the night after This Tuesday in Texas which was November 1991. Bigelow left the WWF in 1988 and didn't return until very late 1992.
Wow 😮 I thought this was right now in 2024 damn bam bam passed away huh 🤔 rip 🪦 I wish we all could live forever! I need to get my head straight and get into the business man I’ve always wanted to be a wrestler 🤼♂️ I need to chase the dreams!!! 💯💯💯
It’s hard not to believe every single word that comes out of BamBam‘s mouth, he’s just so chill and you can tell he’s being honest, and I’ll say this, never, and I mean never did I like Sean Michaels not even back in the day, there was just something about them that I saw that I didn’t like, not as character. Nothing like that, there was just something about him that I felt he was a pussy!
One of my co workers went to school with Bammer in NJ.. Said he was a bad mother back then.. He's pretty laid back in this interview... Curse of the good worker.. lol
@@shaynewest8757 well with all due respect, the way I was taught is to look someone in the eyes while they're talking same as watching tv etc you learn more and see things you may have otherwise miss interpreted.
I think it’s kinda crap with the talk about Scott Hall. I’ve seen interviews where Scott and Kevin had put Bam Bam over and the criticism that Scott gave Shane Douglas was about his working ability. He was very precise about it too. He stated that he thought Shane would be like Shawn Michaels and light on his feet and aerobatic. He wasn’t, he was heavy and had a different style. Maybe they didn’t work well together and it seems as though Scott wasn’t the only dude that Shane had issues with in New York. Yokozuna, from the BSK crew even had words with him. As far as them chastising Scott for being fucked up on drugs is the pot calling the kettle black. The ECW locker room was notorious for partying and open drug use. Even Bam Bam. To be fair Scott and Bam Bam were still with us for quite a while after this interview and at the time their beef was still fresh.
Nash's story about him, Hall, and Bam Bam going to a convenience store to buy beer in Sacramento and Bam Bam smart mouthing some Hispanic gang members, and them almost killing all 3 of them is also the kind of thing that got Bam heat with the kliq.
You have to also remember this is 1998 so a lot of the beef is fresh. There was even a situation where Hall was kicked out of an ECW show by Bam Bam and Douglas. They said the only person keeping them from beating Hall's ass was Justin Credible who Hall came with. Hall did work Big Sal though so idk if that was the day before or after.
Haha he acted like he was tough to the kliq! Man, he really did believe his own legend of being a tough guy while he never backed himself when someone got in his face lol
Bam Bam was the man back in the day. But the example about Scott hall was hypocritical. He also chose drugs over his family but it lets you know how he thought the script from the doctor was okay.

To this day the greatest big man worker I've seen in 40 years. He was so damn talented

I enjoyed hearing Bam Bam take those calls.. Good raw interview!
I love that he's just casually telling these stories with (who I assume is his own) a kid next to him.
Shane Bigelow's a CEO now
