RGB LED Board on Electric Scooter deck Explained

Tutorial on how to setup the LED strip on custom machined deck board using addressable WS2812b RGB LED with wireless controller using remote to set some fancy dynamic flashing pattern. Use either power from scooter
main battery with DC step down voltage converter or dedicated external 12v battery pack.
This mods upgrade done on unbranded model but design-wise applies to LAOTIE Ti30 BOYUEDA Yume Y11 Y10 Okidas Zapcool Inxing Electric Scooter and other similar brand/make. Can be done on most other brand too as Apollo, E-move, E-twow, Kaabo Wolf Mantis, Fiido, Inokim, Varla, Nami, Zero, Vsett, Blade, Unicool, Cyberbot, Xiaomi, Ninebot, Niu, Nanrobot, Segway, Dualtron, Weped, Currus and so on.
All parts used can be found being sold on Aliexpress and other popular online store.

Can I connect the negative and power wire from the DC converter and connect it directly to the battery connection in the yellow protection box that feeds the motor controllers?

My deck doesn't come with a remote is there an app I can use to change the colours etc

It depend on what type of led controller used. There are preprogrammed, with or without buttons, some with RF remote like mine. There is also more advance Bluetooth type with app support you can opt in market.

Thanks for checking out! I bought the brake light from local online store but surely can easily found in Aliexpress too, happy hunting. Unfortunately the panel is custom work by local supply shop. Bring your deck to the shop ask them to make exact shape on the acrylic sheet. There maybe available readymade somewhere in Alibaba's scooter manufacturer but it is a nightmare forest of supplier, goodluck!
