I use Rose Geranium oil, it repels ticks and is safe to put on to humans and dogs and horses. We have a lot of ticks on our property in the sagebrush. I put the Rose Geranium oil on all my horses, dogs and us, and all it takes is putting a drop on each ankle and a drop at base of neck, and no ticks get on us or the animals.
My husband and I are currently clearing our property of brush. He doesn't tuck his pants into he socks but I do and we both still have ticks around the ankles. We even sprayed the insides of out socks, the outsides, our bare ankles, and then the inside and outside of our jeans. Also we frequently reapplied. We used two different sprays for tick repellent to see which worked better and we still got them. Determined little buggers.
I got a tick bite just last week. It crawled up my pant leg as I was coming back home from our camp. I found it on my butt cheek while in the shower and pulled it out intact with my finger nails. It's the first tick bite I have had since 1968. Ticks are worse now than ever in my life (& I walked that property thirty years ago with no problems).
Before a camping trip, I spray permethrin on: tops of socks, Inside pant leg bottoms, around waist band areas, groin areas, Inside shirt sleeves and inside shirt tails, Inside of underwear, Outside of tent doors, screens, zippers, Inside of tent door zippers, inside corners, and ceiling, Inside of sleeping bag. Yeah Im an outdoorsman and honestly theres no avoiding ticks. The best advice is wear light colored clothes, tuck your shirt in, and periodically check yourself.
The diagram about removing a tick is wrong. Grab it bellow the mouth parts and slowly apply pressure [count to 60]. You don't want to squeeze the tick and turn it into a hypodermic needle and inject the contents.
not true. I literally saw a tick land on my arm. In the wide open. I think they can sail with the wind. And I saw a tick not jump, but let go off a leaf right above me...the can feel the vibration of foot steps. And a shower does not get them if you don't see them and scrub them off.
@@seaotter52 They sure can drop, not from the treetops but from any low-hanging branch. They climb quite high, I've seen them. "Ticks find their hosts by detecting animals´ breath and body odors, or by sensing body heat, moisture, and vibrations. Some species can even recognize a shadow. "
Absolutely! They climb. "Ticks find their hosts by detecting animals´ breath and body odors, or by sensing body heat, moisture, and vibrations. Some species can even recognize a shadow. In addition, ticks pick a place to wait by identifying well-used paths."
I’ve potted plants in the car garage. Can ticks come from here? Everyday I find rocks trying to crawl in into my living room. They climb over the walls

What was the second product he held up made of?
Permethrin based for clothing, Deet based for skin. The brand of the product doesn't matter so much as the active ingredients.
Im terrified of them. absolutely, terrified. I want to move into a desert
Im not terrified but i HATE THEM when i am out in the woods everytime i got one of them on my ear or arm
Good. I have late stage Lyme disease, Stay terrified, that’s the only way you’re safe.
I got home today and found 4 of them crawling around on me. No more treks through the woods for a while.
i hate them, they are so dangerous
I have seen ticks active in 30 degree temperatures.
Like that drier tip.

Love how all these "experts" say something differen..
Use tweezers, don't use tweezers..
Pull straight, don't pull straight.. but twist...
Brian C yeah I know right? And there’s always some asshole commenter that hates on the video makers too 🤔
permethrin is the best defense from ticks and other bugs take it from The Tick Terminator
A+
I always feel the tick on my skin and pull it out with my fingers
I heard they don't jump from trees, but fall from them is that true anybody knows?
Answered in the first minute of the video. Don't jump or drop

yes, if the branch is low enough that they can sense you pass beneath.
Tweezers are bad!!! Mouth usually breaks off . Twist tool brings it out alive !
My dad always told me to twist it anti-clockwise comes out no probs.
Dude makes it sound like you can put permethrin on your skin.
BULL SHIT.....! I’m out fishing and they fall from trees , like,.... one my hand , head . Can watch them fall🤨and hear them hit my hat.
