Other neurotransmitters are available😂. I've been living with chronic pain all my life, so finding this episode incredibly relatable. I have always been a hyperactive hypochondriac. Then I was diagnosed with ADHD (age 36), and a year later, I found out I'm hypermobile. So now I am a hypermobile hyperactive hypochondriac. I do have quite a big pain threshold, but as James, I used to play my pain down. But I have now adapted my own pain scale where no pain (I don't know how it feels) is 0, the day-to-day pain that I ignore is 3-5, anything between 6-8 is a struggle, and 9-10 is pure death where I cry and physically cannot move my body. Anyways, ADHD, hormonal imbalance when you are a woman in your 40s, pain and other shit that come from having ADHD suck, so thanks, guys, for being you know, you. Ps love the game ...
I'm a big fan of your show. I have ADHD myself and find it an enormous nuisance! But it's also very interesting. I'd really like to follow up the 'Psycho-education Monkey' studies in my own time... Would you be able to list the sources you use?
One of the times that I broke my arm (adhd) I didn't feel pain for 3 weeks (adhd) and by then I needed surgery. Another time I broke an eyelash and needed heroin for that (adhd). The problem with heroin is that it's full of botulism.
I have longterm chronic pain issues too and agreee turneric and cbd edibles are by far more helpful than the opiods that i too became dependent on...whilst still struggling with the pain.
Sorry to hear you live with pain, this is James and I really understand. It is so debilitating, even doing the tour of talks on ADHD is taking its toll and my pain levels are creeping up into almost unbearable at times ❤️
I live with chronic pain, either to do with my hypermobility or fibro, no tests done of course cos hello adhd and they don't test for either hsd or fibro, but its definitely to do with inflammation in my muscles
