I read The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Posten. And just ... amazing! I was not expecting it, but I already wanted to reread this book at the 100-page mark because it was just that good. And it kept being that good of a book. I have never reread a book, but I am thinking about rereading this quite soon. Also had a similar experience with The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. A beautiful story; atmospheric, romantic, dark, gorgeous writing. Also, one I wanted to reread, but that realization came once I finished the book.
I liked Assistant to the Villain and I’m excited for the second one. It was a simple, fun read. Give Me Butterflies was sweet and good ❤ I know it might be an unpopular opinion, but Diem (Spark of the Everflame) is incredibly unlikeable to me. I like her a bit more towards the end of the 3rd book, so I’ll continue the series (because I’m too stubborn not too), but I’m just not vibing with her. Everyone else is great.
Okay, I seriously dig your vibe with books☺️. Especially since Diem was the person I was referring to in the video when I said some decisions were wild to me!!! She’s the one I’m unsure of in this moment but I’m trying to keep an open mind moving forward. Also, kinda random but, have you read The Curse of Ophelia and or Song of the Marked? I have a copy of both and I’ve been wanting to give them a try. I need more Romantasy in my life and the ones I’ve read haven’t been scratching the itch how I hoped they would.
@@katreadsit Hey thanks! I feel we have a similar vibe/similar tastes in books. I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels that way about Diem. We’ll see what book 4 has in store for her I suppose! I have been feeling let down a bit by Romantasy as well. The last book I really enjoyed was Quicksilver by Callie Hart. I recommend it if you have not read it yet. As for the ones you mentioned, I have not read either but Song of the Marked sounds like it’s right up my alley. The Curse of Ophelia sounds interesting… if you read it, let us know if it’s good!
@katreadsit I just finished Song of the Marked. I feel it was... okay. I am on the second one and finding that it's not as engaging as I would have liked. The FMC is just making choices that don't make sense to me or that I feel don't make sense to the story. It could just be my preference, though. If you read it, please let me know your thoughts!
Stop! I’m reading it LEGIT RN!!! 😂 what are the odds. I’m halfway through it. So far Aiden, the mmc, is fantastic. He’s giving golden retriever energy. I’m a little frustrated with the female mc but I’m intrigued to see where it goes ☺️. I think if you like spicy college romances you may like it! This is one of my first ones I’ve read, I haven’t read the deal or icebreaker yet.
I'm still reading Assistant to the Villain for the book club 😅 I'm 21% in and I also thought that this reminded me of a Barbie movie 😂 Isn't there a Barbie movie where the villain has a frog as a side kick?🤔 But I'm really enjoying the book a lot😍 I just wish I had more time to read 🫤
