Come along as we Uber to the cruise ship. Watch as we go through the Embarkation Process in Port Everglades. Green Line with us as we board Caribbean Princess cruise ship. See the Sanctuary, upper Pool Decks, the Piazza and the Coral Dining Room. Watch as we explore the ship and enjoy sail-away from the Port Everglades/Fort Lauderdale with 5-6 other cruise ships! At the end of the day we give a quick update on how things went.
We are so excited to be aboard the Caribbbean Princess as we cruise to the Western Caribbean - Nassau, Bahamas; Costa Maya, Mexico; Belize City, Belize; Cozumel, Mexico; and back to Fort Lauderdale!

@Joan owren Hi John, Sabatini’s and the Crown Grill are open. Planks barbecue and the Steamers seafood restaurant that are specialty dining were not open.
What was the fee per day in the sanctuary???

Did you not need to visit your Muster Station for check in?
Yes, after viewing the Muster video on your stateroom TV, you still need to check in at your Muster Station.
Is there any hand sanitising stations on board ??? Didn’t see you use any !!
There are stands all over with hand sanitizer. Also, there are hand washing basins as you enter the buffet. We always stop and wash up. Actually refreshing!
I’ve never seen a port you were aloud to record embarkation.
Yes, there are certain areas that we are not allowed to video.
May I ask what room you were in? We are cruising the Caribbean Princess mid June and on theBaja deck also!

Allison LOVE your Voice. What Paperwork would you suggest to have readily available at Embarkation. I believe you said Medallion, Passport, Negative Covid test Results (Within 48hrs) and COVID Shot Card. Am I missing Anything cause I want to be prepared so we can do our Life Boat Drill Check-in and START to ENJOY.

You guys documented your embarkation process very well, that was so helpful for are son to see and reminded him what is going to happen when we go on are cruise.
Happy that it is helpful. We checked with Guest Services and the children area is open and we have seen a handful (maybe 10-15) children on the ship. We are so excited for you!

We have 11-12 embarcation on our Feb cruise on the Majestic. Can't wait! Hope no problem getting Uber from LAX to San Pedro hotel.
From LAX we used the Princess Shuttle after staying overnight at LAX Hilton. But I understand your approach is just fine and very comparable, also, it gets you to the port area the night before reducing any anxiety on the morning of embarkation. Hi Alison, great to hear you are safely on Board. We did this cruise on their second sailing in December. Had an amazing trip and felt extremely comfortable with all the health protocols in place. We were on the Baha deck as well, back of the ship, love the wake. You need to order a cappuccino in the International Cafe just to see the beautiful art work that they do on top of your coffee. Have a wonderful trip, be safe.
We just drove back from St Pete Beach but no cruise ships sighted in Tampa. Wrong day of the week.

I’ve been on 2 Princess cruises where I hand all of my documents required on my phone in a photo folder which was excepted by Princess & made things easier as I didn’t have to pull any documents out. Have you ever done that? If not try that on your next Princess cruise & report back your experiences. From my experience they have never checked my arrival time so that’s apparently not an issue. FYI….If they sent you the Medallion that didn’t have the Platinum sticker on it I would just take the sticker off of your old Medallion & put it on your new Medallion as that’s what they did for me when I had the blue one like yourself & no one will say anything. Another thing is to have a printout from the Princess site that says your status is Medallion. Great Video.

I know you stayed the day before the cruise . Which hotel? We are taking same ship in March and we have the shuttle. Nobody told me we will be going back to the airport before heading to the ship. That’s disappointing because we have 11:30 check in for the ship.
We were at the Hilton Garden Inn Ft Lauderdale Airport just south of the airport. It was decent, but I would describe it as tired and slightly worn. Clean and not scary. Not updated as some others have been, but then it's still a pandemic. I would recommend it, until I find something better myself, if that makes sense.
We also originally were going to take the Princess Shuttle from the airport and had planned to go back; that is what we usually do; however, Ft Lauderdale is a VERY well-planned city and airport for cruises, that I would highly recommend that you take the hotel shuttle from the airport to your hotel when you arrive. The hotel had a shuttle directly to the cruise ports three times a day, but it was crowded and slow and $20 each. We got an Uber, he met us in front of the hotel, we were to the port in 10-15 mins, no other stops, and it was $18 with the $3 tip. Dropped us right at the Rideshare/front door, they took our bags, we walked in at 10:30 and were on the ship by 11:15. Good luck; you'll be just fine.
So many questions for you. Why were all the best seats taken outside if you got there before anyone else? Why are you reviewing the day after we already saw it? Would have loved to see your cabin, did it contain a couch? Not in love with the blue window glass . Do they have that on all Princess ships? I hope you have a wonderful cruise!

Thanks for your very thorough video showing embarkation. You were so early...it wasn't a problem. We are not wanting to board until closer to 12:30 pm, so that we can take our own luggage on board, and go straight to our cabin. That's the plan, anyway. Good to see the changes at the terminal though. Hope the medallion works, as I hear there are some problems with it, from time to time. Enjoy your cruise, Allison and Gordon.

Hello there, did you have to bring you suits cases or were you able to leave them bell person to deliver to your room so you could go to the sanctuary after the embercation?? Tomorrow is our cruise day and not sure the Protocol had changed due to COVID.

The Uber driver dropped us off at the door (for RideShare) and there were luggage handlers right there. They took all the bags we wanted to give them (3 bags), we kept my backpack and my wife's handbag. The rest showed up in our room later in the afternoon just fine. They still handle it as before. Bon Voyage!
Hi Alison, Thank you for the great information on embarking on your Caribbean cruise. We have a Caribbean cruise booked on Princess in July. Would you know if we need to complete a self test kit before we can disembark the ship in Ft. Lauderdale or will the ship conduct the test? We will be flying back to SFO after the cruise. Do you know if Jet Blue and Delta require tests before we can board? Just want to be prepared with the self test kits if we need them. We are fully vaccinated with a booster. Also do we need to make a reservation with Princess for a check in time on embarkation day? Thanks.
@gnowjr Hi, No, you do not need to do a test to disembark and non of the airlines require a covid test to fly - just a mask. Yes, on your Medallion Class app, select an Embarkation Group and that is how your embarkation time is selected. Let me know if you have any more questions. We are glad to have you with us!

California Linda adds beautiful renovations in the port, the animation and lighting are beautiful. The Elite and Platium areas have nice defined seating areas instead of folded chairs. We will enjoy the new look when we are on the same ship in 2023. We have been enjoying the commentaries of the port sail aways. Thanks for sharing. ⚓👍

I'm wondering about the Sanctuary. So as soon as you get on board you go up to there and book it for the entire cruise or certain days.. how does that work?
DENISE T You go as soon as you get in board because on a full capacity cruise all of the availability fills up quickly. You can book it for the entire cruise or for just whichever days you would like. $40 per whole day and $20 per half day per person.
We’ve taken 2 TAs on the Emerald and 1 on the Caribbean Princess. Nice older ships! Our 1st medallion cruise is March 27. Thanks for your video!

What is a medallion cruise??
We are currently on the Emerald Princess and are having a fantastic time! We transited the Panama Canal and are sailing from Ft Lauderdale to LA. Highly recommend this experience to all who may be considering this cruise, as well as any other Princess Cruise. The food, the entertainment, and the staff have been fantastic.

Hello Allison, can you watch the lifeboat drill while you wait in the terminal and then go straight to the assigned Muster Station, or do you have to wait until you get in your stateroom?
@Skip Dusik Hi Skip, Your app knows when you are onboard the ship and you have to watch the muster while you are onboard. You can’t watch it before you are on the ship.

Great to see the Uber experience and trip from hotel to getting on board! Sometimes security doesn't allow video inside the port area. Question, did you have to give the Uber the exact port number for the right ship or did he just take you there? Sometimes Princess has more than one ship in port in Fort Lauderdale. Also, did you book the Sanctuary for the week or did you pick a few days? I've never done this, but it sure looks like a nice place to enjoy the cruise. Thank you for sharing!
@D Adams We just entered terminal 2 in the Uber app since that is the terminal listed for our ship. That’s a very good point about sometimes having more than 1 Princess ship in port at a time. Maybe they use different terminals?
For the Sanctuary we booked the afternoons on both sea days. We are there now and it is so lovely. You can book whole days or half days and all the days of the cruise or just whichever days you want.
