So many scriptures against tattoos. Don't cut your body. Don't make a blood covenant. Don't imitate the pagans. Do NOT conform to this world. Be holy. Be set apart. Etc etc.
@@Innerunderstanding if you repented from what you did, yes, because the Apostle Paul said those who are in Christ, is a new creature, the old things are in the past, and new things will happen, but that doesn't mean you have to make more tattoos and then say sorry, but you have to change.
@@Innerunderstanding people need ti be healthy, like eat the right amount of foods, and not making tattoos, one sin is not bigger or smaller than other.
Martínez Piano Worship Also the only verse in the Bible that talks about what some would think is tattoos. Is Leviticus 19:28 but if you look at it in context it could be talking about pagan rituals. So tattoos may not be wrong at all?
1 Corinthians 3:16-18 King James Version (KJV) 16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. 18 Let no man deceive himself. I think that it is funny how so many people say that the old testament is done away with. No where in the bible does it say that the old testament is done away with. I believe that the Bible says "Don't misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose." Matthew 5:17. Jesus preached out of the old testament Paul preached out of the old testament. Come on People, they preached over and over again to new Christians from the Old Testament. My take on Tattoo's don't judge that is Christ job.
So many people have told me that the Old Testament is dead. But I refuse to get a tattoo, just because I feel like I do not think it will look good on me, but it feels morally wrong to mark up my body PERMANENTLY however I please. A tattoo of a cross? It's still a tattoo, it makes no exception. Plus, since when did the Bible say that the cross should be a universal symbol of Christianity? Most of us now worship the cross instead of Christ and the Lord Himself.
Before I came to know Christ I got two tattoos but when God changed your heart & your a new creation then you never think about worldly stuff or getting new tattoos coz God will give a desire to serve him & He your master..
Angeline Winter this is true...as i become stronger in my walk with Christ i think less about tatts & more about what i can do to glorify him. And i have always loved tatts...i have several.
@@jacquibaxter1880 If you could get then on, there's no excuse on why you can't get them off. Prostitutes are expected to change how the dress if they end up following Jesus. Why can't you be expected to be done away with your past as well? This is not a judgment but a question.
Leviticus 19:28King James Version (KJV)28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord. This still says the same about not putting any marks on your body. NO marks or no tattoos it means the same thing. Graven image.
If you are going to bring ONE Law, then you better be observing ALL 613 of them! Otherwise, that's both stupid and hypocritical. But I have a higher thing to offer: 1 Co 6v19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are NOT your own? Can't you people read? "And ye are NOT your own" ... meaning, you do NOT have the rights over your body to do whatever you want with piercings and tattoos that you think.ASK A MILITARY MAN! MessengerOfTruth Is adultery a sin and you shouldn't do it? Well if you don't keep the whole law then you shouldn't keep any? Tattoo's are bad. It's not the unforgivable sin though. But still, don't get them. If you have one don't worry, but go and sin no more (meaning don't get any more tattoo's)
Hi. If tatoos are wrong because of the laws recorded in Leviticus and elsewhere, as someone noted earlier in this thread, you should not only refer to and keep that law but keep ALL the laws. As God asking yus to do this, ie, keep all the laws? I don't think so. My take is that the Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law. In fact, we are no longer under the law. Does that mean we are free to sin? Absolutely not (Rom 6:2 makes that point very clearly). My point is that we are not under the law so bringing up this as something God is commanding us to do from the law is not the way to make this argument. ...(to be continued)
Does that mean no pierces either, not even ears. I did not know when I got mine. But hey we all do things wrong and always will. We all , every single one of us is not going by the bible right. We all sin. I do believe we should probably change are ways when we are wrong. Well we are human and many if us do not do even change something. I just know Jesus still loves you and me.
I'm not necessarily for or against tattoos and I understand that we are not supposed to do anything just because we "want to do it" but what about Christians (including many ministers) who get botox, plastic surgery, hair plugs. go to tanning beds, wear gaudy jewelry, dress in hipster threads and on and on. Those are ALL "because I want to" things and I can't see how any are "to glorify Christ." There are hundreds of things that good Christians do every day that are not necessarily 1) Honoring to God 2) Edifying to others and 3) Not for selfish or empty conceit. So what's the difference?
Right, I agree, if we take that argument to the end then we shouldn’t care about fashion or makeup or anything else of the sort. Can those things be abused? Yes, but I know that God also gave us things of this world to enjoy. So I have no problem wearing a nice outfit that makes me feel good about myself, and I don’t see any issue with that in scripture. Likewise I have 2 tattoos, both of them are biblical themed, and I believe, Holy Sprit inspired. I’m proud to be an image bearer of the one true King.

It also says in Leviticus not to cut the sides of your head. But we all do that to. It's the same concept. "“Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand.” Romans 14:4 NIV Who are you to judge the way I choose to worship my God? “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:1-2 NIV Jesus and the Father nor the Holy Spirit has given me the conviction of not getting tattoos, he may one day but I have no conviction about it. You are all loved, my brothers and sisters in Christ. Let's not argue over small things but rather save souls for the kingdom and glorify Him.
Leviticus 19:28New International Version (NIV)28 “‘Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the Lord. Deuteronomy 14:1King James Version (KJV)14 Ye are the children of the Lord your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead. When you create an image on your skin you are actually invoking the spirit of that thing to come into your body. It is a graven image on your body. Your body becomes defiled.
You really shouldn't jump around in translations. That allows people to decide which verse they prefer in one version or another. Stick with the KJV. There's a lot of info out there on why KJV for English speakers
It is not true that the KJV is the only trusted version of the bible the KJV has some mistakes as well it was from the Greek Textus Receptus, I also have the Codex Sinaiticus. But the NIV has some easier to understand verses that I used for conversation. I hope we are not all theologian in this regard but just conversationalist showing what the bible says. The KJV has also many versions, 1611 and the others which one should you prefer I used? The strangest thing is that people no longer spend time to find out the hoha about KJV only they read and then they believe. The central message of the bible has not been changed. And if you compare all the translation you will see the meaning of the verse also does not change. NIV capstone and KJV cornerstone to an outsider means the most important stones and that does not change at all. It does not cause a theological change that makes Jesus less foundational. Things like that do not irritate me but it seems to irritate you. You have the Holy Spirit that will guide you into all truths so why be afraid of using other translation. Not all are trained in the Victorian English and not all will understand the KJV, NIV is much simpler for the general public. I am speaking to the general public so I choose to use the verse that is plain and simple whichever is the case. I am using www.biblegateway.com and there are more than one bible version I can consult to ascertain the main message in the verse. KJV is not the bible without error. I am not KJV only branch of Christian, I am Holy spirit filled Christian. Don't force your believe unto me, you meant well but I do not agree with that KJV only type of thinking. It is also not pure, it came after Erasmus who also did not use the complete greek text and make mistakes as well. The Greek text which stands behind the King James Bible is demonstrably inferior in certain places. The man who edited the text was a Roman Catholic priest and humanist named Erasmus. He was under pressure to get it to the press as soon as possible since (a) no edition of the Greek New Testament had yet been published, and (b) he had heard that Cardinal Ximenes and his associates were just about to publish an edition of the Greek New Testament and he was in a race to beat them. Consequently, his edition has been called the most poorly edited volume in all of literature! It is filled with hundreds of typographical errors which even Erasmus would acknowledge. Do you know this or hasn't your pastor told you the whole truth? You should did deeper if you want to go deep go all the way brother. Let even this truth set you free.
It also says you shouldn't get your ears pieced. So should women be forced to not wear earrings? You're picking and choosing scriptures, my friend. Also, the KJV has been of great service to Christians over the years, but it has major errors in it. Cheers
These errors does not change the main theme in the bible, Jesus came to save, he was sent by God, and God is still his Father, no one goes to the father except by him. This didn't change no matter which Bible is used. The piercing of ears are for slaves a long time ago, those with pierced ears meant they sold themselves as slaves, and this is not allowed by our God, unless they were subjugated by force. selling yourselves as slaves is not allowed. We should not cut ourselves with knives or make tattoo marks. Do you know why this small law was given?
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. (Isaiah 55:7) Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil. (Joel 2:12-13)
For those quoting Leviticus: culturally, in the days of the old testament, pagans and members of cults had tattoos. He says in the video, the point was to "not be confused with the pagan culture." We are not in the same cultural predicament anymore, and Jesus fulfilled the old testament laws, anyway. Tattoos are fine.

Jordan Emmons Amen to that. ppl needa stop taking scripture out of context. just like this guy above me is taking that scripture out of context which is talking about being sexually immoral not tattoos.
Leviticus 19:28 describes the practices the pagans did for the dead: cutting the sidegrowth of their heads, plucking out the edges of their beards, cutting themselves for the dead and putting tattoos on themselves for the dead( as in a picture of a deceased loved one or a memoriam). Pagans also tattooed images of their favorite gods on themselves. I don't think that its the tattoo that matters, its what it represents and the purpose for it. Now, if a Christian gets tattoos of Bible verses or Christian symbols, then it wouldn't be a sin because its tattoos referring to the L-rd. Whatever you do, do for the glory of G-d.
So many laws in leviticus no one follows yet they are choose to be stuck on tattoos. Also no one realizes these laws were created for the jews, nit the world. If they were for the world then there would not have been reason for jesus to die on the cross and teach us how to live.
I've only seen this guy a few times and was pleased with his other answers (especially on divorce and remarriage), this however, is unsound and is indeed tenuous at best. the Pagan markings in the Bible are analogous to the tattoos of secular and Mystic symbolism of modernity. Regardless of the various subject matter and symbolic meanings, "Christians" in modern culture, are looking more and more like the world, and that is precisely what the biblical warnings where about. So to not exhort against it and indeed waiver with tacit allowance is not aimed at pleasing Christ. innumerable are run-of-the-mill unbelievers and in-name-only-believers who have some sort of Bible verse tattoos on their body. anyone who already has one is one thing but to consider getting one means you're not considering pleasing God in primacy. anyone who thinks that is lying to themselves.you have to live with it or not. flippant consideration for God is a Hallmark of ridiculous Christianity. I repeat: to already have one is a different thing altogether, but as a Progressive practice, one needs to seriously take inventory of their position. there's no greater loving way to say this.
True words spoken Scott. I got one three years of being saved. I got two as a heathen. It’s paganism and I repented of it. It is a “Christian tattoo.” Funny how we add the word Christian to the things of the world to make it ok. I didn’t even ask the Lord about it - I wanted it and I got it and I regret it. We the church of Jesus Christ need to stop looking like the world! God bless you!
People get tattoos because they think it's cool and it's a trend. It is an adornment of the world and not of the church! It does not glorify God at all.
+DefectedSalvations I couldn't care less about how many tattoos you get. Cover your whole body...I couldn't care less. God has given you the autonomy to do that. However, I do care what the consensus of the Word of God is. The Bible speaks of "markings," or "etchings" in the skin as with a needle that are permanent and speaks expressly against it. Have you ever researched tattoos from a biblical perspective? Have you looked into it? Have you wondered about it? Do you have any knowledge concerning it? More than likely no! Or is it your perspective that they're ok because they are a "representation of yourself and your struggles." My Bible tells me that we are representations of Jesus Christ. Are you even saved? Considering your language I am guessing no (even though you might think you are)!! So, do whatever you like because when I finish this post and shut down my computer you do not exist to me!
+DefectedSalvations No, I am not mad...your cursing took me aback. I didn't expect it because usually the character of a Christian is not to curse. Also, you are speaking from a perspective of zero knowledge and zero research. Lol! The bible does speak of tattoos. Do you know what it says of tattoos and also markings and also The Mark (in the New Testament)? Like, I said, have at it! But, the tone of your conversation however brief your post says a lot when you lead with cursing. Salvation is a walk not just a talk and the true worshippers of Christ worship Him in Spirit and in truth. And, if you want to dispute what I said, do it through the Word of God and not your opinion because the Word of God is what true Christians align themselves to. And, by the way, I am a woman.
+DefectedSalvations What food for thought? YOU haven't stated an intelligent thought through this entire post. Who are you trying to feed and you're malnourished? Maybe you should feed yourself the Word and then we can talk. This wasn't a debate...I was responding to your ignorance. The ignorant really do not know they are ignorant. I guess that's why ignorance is considered bliss.
I have a lot of tattoos, but none of them are offensive, mostly stars (God’s creation) and a jigsaw puzzle sleeve for autism awareness. Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and I decorated mine.
It also says in Leviticus not to cut the hair on the sides of your head, or plant two different crops in the same field, or wear clothing with two different types of material. Come on man, your hair looks pretty short on the side.
I have 2 tattoos but why are we even arguing with each other about tattoos? Really who cares? We have brothers and sisters in Christ in other countries being persecuted for their faith in Jesus, and we're agruing about tattoos....
Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, The Lord resides in us. If somebody came along and tagged up your house with Graffiti, I don't think you would appreciate that very much, so neither does the Lord appreciate us putting graffiti on His house you are if you're in Christ. I already have 2 tattoos. And yes two of them is because it's is honor to God. one for the talent he is giving me and the other is because I became a born- again christian that represents a number (#15). Both of my tattoos really means a lot to me. I don't do it cause it's cool, no. I do it cause it's been myself. Tattoos or not, God loves us all. The only thing to do to get it is to think about it well and have a REAL REASON why you want to get it.
no doubt God still loves us whether we have a tattoo or not...but it is still a sin. Our body is a temple which God made perfect in His image. There's no need to tamper with it. Even if you had a tattoo saying "Jesus" it would still be a sin. You have to do God's will!! not your own. You have to leave what you want to do and follow what God wants you to do. You can have meaning of something deep to you without tattooing it on your body. That being said...I believe God loves you...just don't get anymore tattoos. I admit I always try to find some sort of reason as to why it's not a sin...but deep inside I know it is.
+MattyBlue99 Leviticus 19 28:29 “Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the Lord". That is a straight commandment from God. how is it NOT a sin?

MessengerOfTruth so we can’t pierce our ears or wear makeup ? I’m pretty sure he means we are to use our bodies to glorify him not be disrespectful to him, tattoos aren’t disrespectful in the bible it says don’t tattoo yourself or mark yourself FOR THE DEAD because if u did it for the dead it was considered a pagan practice
I love this! He knows why most people get tattoos. It is really mainly for adornment for many. For others, there is sentiment and personal meaning. I personally would not get one myself, even if it were a cross or scripture. If one does it to exhalt the Lord, I feel one must be at a high level of closeness to the Lord because just like calling one self a 'Christian' is an invisible "brand" of who one is, tattoos are a visible brand that that can be seen. (If it's not publicly seen then I question again who the benefit of it was for, which brings it back to Todd's message). In having a visible brand, one is publicly labeled. This is a huge responsibility because any thing one does in public can be associated with their "brand." On one hand, if one were to hold a door open for someone and they saw a tattoo of a cross or Jesus, one's act of kindness can be attributed to the "mark" of belief and love for Jesus. On the other hand, if one were in public losing his/her temper because someone cut them off, or took their parking spot, or offended them by staring inappropriately at their spouse, that loss of a temper will also be associated with one's "mark" of belief and can be seen negatively and lead one AWAY from Christ as a result. It then could be asked, "what set this Christian aside if they act just like any body else?" All laws aside, I would also ask myself before getting a tattoo, "if I brand myself with this tattoo, will I be able to uphold the standard Christ asks me to have as His ambassador ALL the time in public so that I exhalt Him in action, not only by the mark?"
No where in the bible has that statement, but if you are referring to Leviticus its says "for the dead" bible is not a simple book to be taken literally, if so, you may take revenge on your neighbor by striking him because it says in Samuel 15:3. Everything changed when Jesus came bro.
I'm an artist. So my family member asked me to draw a tattoo for them that doesn't necessarily glorify God. I am Christian above all else , I'm not sure if it's wrong or right. She wanted it for a birthday gift. ??
Okay, last of these videos that I'll watch I think. The nature and heart of God is demonstrated in the OT, so for people to say it's done away with is to say that God's heart has changed or is no longer important to follow or consider. 'Bring you back to the higher principle - where what you're doing you are fully convinced is to the glory of Christ'. But shouldn't our human perceptions don't match up with scripture, shouldn't we then challenge it, since we are to test everything against the scripture? Not just one scripture that we can make fit our desire, but the scripture as a whole? Surely the Scripture is as a whole the higher principle than human desire. I know you say 'not from selfish conceit' but when people really want something they can justify it, even using scripture, sometimes out of context, to do so. I think it's just safest to say that if God specifically said not to do something He had a good reason for it and He probably knows better than me or the fashion-forward people of my generation.
There's only one truth, but many justifications, modifications, and opinions can be made from that. If you want to justify the Bible to suit your needs, do it. But know that there is a judgement day for all of us, Christians or otherwise.
Isn’t all of the text mentioning that tattoos are a sin come from the Old Testament in Leviticus? It’s the same book that says eating pork and shrimp is sinful so it’s pretty outdated... I am a Christian and to me having tattoos helps in meeting people who are atheist and agnostic you can show them that we aren’t such a strict religion.
If you’re thinking of getting one, DONT! So many people live to regret it. Tats make people look cheap and tacky and sends the wrong negative message, IMHO.
My dad has a tattoo , I’m not thinking of ever getting one , but I’m scared for my dad , he has a few tattoos but there tribal tattoos honouring my family and culture , he does not wear them to be cool , is this still bad ?
What if you got a tattoo after you accepted Jesus as Lord and savior? Would it be a sin if it’s bothering you? If so, what should you do then? Remove or just let it stay on your skin?
Jonathan Grandt Exactly! It’s conflicting. We need to live for God but we can still enjoy ourselves in our ways as long as it’s not sinful. If I wanna eat pizza cuz I love pizza, is it bad I didn’t do it for God?
I dont know if watching attack on titan is a sin cause it isnt real violence its a anime they are not real people so i told god i dont know if its a sin or not and i told him im going to watch the final season of it so now i feel i must watch it cause i told him i will but i told him i most likely will stop watching it after i finish the last season just to be safe and make sure i dont sin is it okay that i watch the last season someone answer me please
Lots of implicit verses… no EXPLICIT verses about this topic. But, I don’t agree with using the “we don’t do anything becuz we think it’s cool” part … by that logic, we can’t buy a football jersey from our favorite sports team, we can’t buy a specific nice car we like, or get a nice haircut …
Let me answer you . The bible says the Jews ran Jesus and said he had broken the sabbath. Read Matthew 19 and you will see what commandments you should keep to have eternal life.
Brother I woukd like to be careful here- the Bible also states in Leviticus that we are not to eat shrimp, bacon, cut our hair or shave - we are also told in Leviticus not to work on the Sabbath. We cannot pick and chose what part of the Levitical law we adhere to......1 Samuel 16:7-7But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit now. God was very concerned about the details of the temple when giving instructions on how it should be built in the old testament. He certainly wouldn't have approved of someone hanging a picture of a dolphin or some random thing on the wall of HIs temple somewhere. I think adding anything to God's good work that is our bodies is walking a very fine line. Also, many non-believers, whether right or wrong, may look at a tattooed Christian as being worldly and hypocritical. If there is even a small chance that my tattoo may keep someone else from God I would never do it, even if it was not forbidden.
Fools, if you follow part of the law you must follow it all. The mosaic law is fulfilled, we are in the grace. The question should be why am I getting it and/or what am I getting, will it be offensive to God or people?
this has to be some of the most misleading info ive ever heard. we arent christians because we are trying to be the most perfect and the closest follower of the scriptures but because were not perfect. some christians get too involved trying to be so perfect and never make a mistake when thats what you were made to do. you could apply what hes (the pastor in this video) saying to anything, why did he get that haircut? was it because he liked it? or was it because he prayed long and hard about it and decided god liked that haircut and thats the only acceptable haircut? why did he buy those jeans or that shirt? probably because he thought they were cool and he liked them. same goes for tattoos if you like it and you think its cool get one! get 50! trying to live up to the ideal christian standard these people push isnt possible and it isnt realistic. live for god, make followers of christ and be the best person you can be. the way you style your hair, dress or tattoo your body doesnt change who you are to god on the inside. remember that.
You're just making your own truth. Excusing sinning because that's the way we are made is ridiculous. One should always seek to be righteous. That's of course impossible, but one should still seek to be so.
I think tatto is not bad in the sight of the Lord as long as your tatto is for the organization to help the community and for good.and it can't affect your relarionship to God.
We have to be careful with trying to justify doing something that says clearly don't do it I am the Lord. People are doing what was done in the Garden of Eden. Did God really say not to eat of the tree? Yes, he did. He didn't have to explain Himself. When he say I am the Lord. He saying just don't do it. Period. If you have, just repent and renounce it. But we do not have to try to justify people doing something that God said clearly don't do it. We can do whatever we want to do as God has given us free will. Just like Adam and Eve made a choice. However, they are consequences to our chooses. God bless you all!

Oohh another thing we just live the bible its the manual of life. i get confused i know but if we pray and meditate upon the Word , we woudn't be confused as i am
if the scriptures are against tattoos, why do some gospel singers have them? eg my favourite Ryan Stevenson. is it because of their past live? if there is tattoo removal why cant they go there? Im against them too but im just confused
Why are ya'll so judgmental towards this channel? For 1 they give scripture evidence (from the 25+ videos ive seen) in almost every video. That's what ya'll want, they show it. 2 Todd Wagner is a SENIOR PASTOR. Dude speaks straight scriptures and wisdom.
Angel Sanchez Although he speaks the truth, he doesn't sound sure on a few things. All Tattoos are demonic because they are connected to witchcraft through cutting the flesh, bloodletting, and Shamanism. Any Christian getting tattoos should repent. God Bless
That was for the pegan culture we are not in those times anymore, Jesus Christ fulfilled the old testatment by dying on the cross to forgive our sins, only way you will not enter into Heaven is if you do not accept Jesus Christ as God simple as that. So you going around telling everyone that has a tattoo that they are going too Hell makes you yourself in danger of the same thing. THAT is from Jesus Christ.
yeah but if you remember what it says in the prophecies; that he would write His Law on our hearts and put it in our minds. And yes we are under the same laws. To say that G-d did away with the Law is to say that we can steal, lie, commit adultery, murder, etc. The Law defines sin and defines righteousness. Sin is defined as transgressing the Law, its breaking the Law, its not doing the Law. Yeshua told Mary to " go and sin no more". Psalm 119 states that His Law is truth. Truth was from the beginning and always will be. Do you even know what fulfill the Law means? It doesn't mean to do away with because Yeshua said in Matthew 5 that He didn't come to abolish the Law and the Prophets, but to fulfill them. The word used for abolish is kataluo which means " to dissolve, to disunite, to abolish, to throw down, to cast down, to destroy". The word used for fulfill is pleroo which means " to fill to the fullest meaning, to render a correct interpretation, to full preach" The Scriptures say that love is the fulfillment of the Law. How did Yeshua fulfill the Law? He walked in love for the Father and people. Yeshua fulfilled the Law by rendering a correct interpretation of the Law, fully preaching it, and taught us how to walk it out. Yeshua said, " if you love Me, keep My commandments. The commandments that were received at Mt Sinai are the same commandments that He taught. Yeshua was the Law giver at Mt Sinai. Yeshua taught the Law, and lived the Law and we are to imitate Him. It states in 1John that the love of G-d is that we keep His commandments, and His commandments are not burdensome. The Pharisees were looking for Yeshua to break the commandments and advocate turning away from the Law like the Moses warned.. The only commandments He broke were their man-made traditions. And yes we have the Holy Spirit to teach us and guide us, but He also empowers us to keep the Law, because as Paul said, " the Law is spiritual" and only the Holy Spirit can empower us to keep the Law. The only people who preach that Law was done away with are the same ones who break His commandents and teach others to do so. Yeshu said in Matthew 5:19 in the NASB " who ever annuls the least of the commandments and teaches others to do same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven.
1 Co 6v19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are NOT your own? Can't you people read? "And ye are NOT your own" ... meaning, you do NOT have the rights over your body to do whatever you want with piercings and tattoos that you think.ASK A MILITARY MAN! He cannot just go and get a tat without permission from the Branch he serves! He cannot simply cut his hair, or color his hair anyway he wants! As long as he is pledged to the Military, he is NOT his own! So, how is it that you people can understand TAHT, but you can't understand GOD'S WORD!? The principle is the same.
Of course its not. Your body is the temple for the holy spirit. You are meant to be Holy and clean. Would Jesus get a tattoo? Obviously not, because its unclean and that's what the world does. If you believe in Christ you are not part of the world, so shouldn't do what they do.

We don’t do anything for ourselves or because it’s cool? Hahaha. Ok. No nice haircuts or jeans or shirts. You can’t do those things for yourself. If you do anything it has to be only for God. Not your wife. Not your girlfriend or boyfriend or whatever.
If you don’t scratch your car, or the walls of your house, or even your dog you love, why your precious, God given body? Want to show Christ? Do it with your life. Want the word of God near you every time? Carry your Bible. My advice preacher, is to be a bit more clear about it so you won’t leave an open door for sin. Blessings.
Jesus is a spirit, not flesh! So it's obvious that it's not the tats we create on earth. I regret my because it has no purpose. If he wanted us to have them, I believe we would be born with them, just my opinion. GOD is a spirit 🙌 (fact). Blessings!
wow it is amazing to me how many of you comment on here with Direct judgement like "tatoos = hell ".... and how many of you claim to know exactly what is in someone's heart when they do so... you must havr some superhuman eyesight into the human heart that i don't know of. you must also be missing the new testament and the CONTEXT within which leviticus is written. don't be so sure to pass out judgement you might not be the person to do so
It's not that tattoo equals hell. The Bible always tells us that the cost of sin is death. Therefore, it is sin that equals to hell. If one act is wrong we must repent to Jesus and turn away from it. It's always sin that we abhor
If you could get then on, there's no excuse on why you can't get them off. Prostitutes are expected to change how the dress if they end up following Jesus. Why can't you be expected to be done away with your past as well? This is not a judgment but a question.
I'm not worried, hence why I said: "ARE CHRISTIANS WORRIED". Neither did I claim it doesn't exist, imaginary friends are very real to their human who created them.
+Ryan Ftw well why are you on a video asking christians why they are worried about something that you believe is non existent? Do you get this angry about the boogeyman, Santa Claus, tooth fairy and other fictional stuff?
You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead NOR!! (ALSO DO NOT!) make any tattoo marks on yourself:I AM THE LORD. Leviticus 19.28 ... clear as clean water DO NOT MARK YOURSELF WITH TATTOOS OR CUT YOURSELF. Otherwise you have to repent for them in Jesus christ name. This goes for believers and un believers... since our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and we shawl not stain them with port ways to hell or its demons.(They are blood covenants with the demonic)even if its a Christian tattoo...NONE.and God STRICTLY FORBID THEM. Leviticus 19.28.
Hey Todd. If you wanna get a tattoo, get one. Don't bring Jesus into your mess, he's suffered enough. Read Revelation 22:18-19. Try pondering on that thought. False teaching is what you're doing. With Tattoos you can't glorify Christ. And what was written in Jesus' body is a Spiritual body. You're sugarcoating everything.
It’s probably not going to be a tattoo on Jesus when He comes again because he will not have a human body it’s the resurrected body which is light I believe
All these comments are from Christians who don't even read their bible daily at-least 90% of you, they cant help but to judge and criticize, every one believes they are right in their own ways, you know who these people reminds me of? "The Pharisees", always complaining and commenting, but few are Nicodemus here, who knows what is right and wrong but deals in the wisest manner.

+Noran Davis You are absolutely correct. There is no way to justify marring up our body. No matter how much rationalizing or Scripture twisting a person does, the reality is, the only reason a person gets a tattoo is because they want a tattoo. We run into the same excuses for not going to church, living in sexual sin, unbiblical hair lengths, etc... It all boils down to a person ignoring the will of God and exerting their own will. Then trying to justify it.
+Jim Hall People get tattoos because they look cool? Nope, people get them for many reasons... To cover scars from accidents, women who have had a breasts removed due to cancer and dont have a cosmetic nipple sometimes have them tattooed, some people have them in memory of someone and in these cases a lot of them are not visible. Nobody will ever see them, they've had them for themselves.
Erik Brice Ledford I have 4 tattoos that I got when I was backsliden and now that I’m back walking with the Lord I deeply regret getting them. I’ve dishonoured the Lord and feel it’s not glorifying God. I cover them as much as I can. I don’t believe that God thinks it’s ok to get tattoos. Carnal Christianity would say it’s ok to get tattoos but I’d rather try to please the Lord.
Well it's not that bad I think because you're putting it on a temporary body of flesh that will die out anyways... we will also get a new glorified body without tattoo's the only thing you gotta do when you're facing god is not holding on to those tattoo's that you had and letting go of them because they mean nothing in the kingdom of god and if you still hold on to them or say "no, I want to keep them" then it's the sin of pride you're committing
Why are Christians always looking for a way to do something that "probably" isn't a sin. A good rule of thumb is that if you think it might be a sin, it probably is. Stop playing rope-a-dope with God.
So many scriptures against tattoos. Don't cut your body. Don't make a blood covenant. Don't imitate the pagans. Do NOT conform to this world. Be holy. Be set apart. Etc etc.
Not to mention mention that the body is temple of the Holy Spirit.
Martínez Piano Worship well I have a lot of tattoos do you think god Will let me in heaven?
Prayed about tattoos twice back in '12-'13 and both times the Lord said no. So I write on my tshirts now.
That makes perfect sense.
I wondered the same thing. I went to churches where the deacons and pastors had tattoos.
Is tattoo unforgivable sin?
God didn't tell me no
Same thing happened to me!

Travis Alexander Check out this episode and let us know your thoughts ----> realtruthrealquick.com/old-testament-laws/
Amen, I totally agree with all you said!
I'm with you! I actually just purchased myself a Holy Bible so I can start studying the Old Testament as well as the New Testament ☺️
Elisa Han Where did you get the idea that it was permanent?
Like in the video, there's a thing called TATTOO REMOVAL.

What about the temple of the Holy Spirit verse?
I'm not necessarily for or against tattoos and I understand that we are not supposed to do anything just because we "want to do it" but what about Christians (including many ministers) who get botox, plastic surgery, hair plugs. go to tanning beds, wear gaudy jewelry, dress in hipster threads and on and on. Those are ALL "because I want to" things and I can't see how any are "to glorify Christ." There are hundreds of things that good Christians do every day that are not necessarily 1) Honoring to God 2) Edifying to others and 3) Not for selfish or empty conceit. So what's the difference?
Kent Witchcraft is the difference. Also, God created us in his image. We should not want to alter that. God Bless
I’m proud to be an image bearer of the one true King.
kent ...right i agree

Non of the symbols that represent Christianity is actually Christian. They are all pagan
Your pale white skin is associated with pagans. Does that make you a pagan or in the wrong?
I agree with this.
You're convinced that its not while others think it is.
Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and I decorated mine.

It also says in Leviticus not to cut the hair on the sides of your head, or plant two different crops in the same field, or wear clothing with two different types of material. Come on man, your hair looks pretty short on the side.
I have 2 tattoos but why are we even arguing with each other about tattoos? Really who cares? We have brothers and sisters in Christ in other countries being persecuted for their faith in Jesus, and we're agruing about tattoos....
Shane Ingle just because their are more pressing issues doesn’t make other subjects not an issue.
Kane jacob so do some people without tattoos. Point being, the tattoo isn’t the main factor sending people to hell.
Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, The Lord resides in us. If somebody came along and tagged up your house with Graffiti, I don't think you would appreciate that very much, so neither does the Lord appreciate us putting graffiti on His house you are if you're in Christ.

I admit I always try to find some sort of reason as to why it's not a sin...but deep inside I know it is.

modern version obviosuly
It then could be asked, "what set this Christian aside if they act just like any body else?" All laws aside, I would also ask myself before getting a tattoo, "if I brand myself with this tattoo, will I be able to uphold the standard Christ asks me to have as His ambassador ALL the time in public so that I exhalt Him in action, not only by the mark?"
malikacorenak Amen

so much sugarcoating...how about what the Bible says? *NOOO!!!*
Is there a direct scripture for no?
No where in the bible has that statement, but if you are referring to Leviticus its says "for the dead" bible is not a simple book to be taken literally, if so, you may take revenge on your neighbor by striking him because it says in Samuel 15:3. Everything changed when Jesus came bro.
I'm an artist. So my family member asked me to draw a tattoo for them that doesn't necessarily glorify God. I am Christian above all else , I'm not sure if it's wrong or right. She wanted it for a birthday gift. ??
I think you should pray to God for direction on this one
Exactlyyyyyyyyyy you automatically give an impressive whether it's intended or not.

Do you have a video of: should Christian's keep the Sabbath?
Let me answer you . The bible says the Jews ran Jesus and said he had broken the sabbath. Read Matthew 19 and you will see what commandments you should keep to have eternal life.
@@daniapowell180 sabbath will be present every week in the new earth.
I have a tattoo for my grandmother who passed. Is this a sin?

That's of course impossible, but one should still seek to be so.
what about the tetragrammaton over ones heart?

SuperSam424 Amen
I dont think he was referring to ink tattoos.
So you're saying that G-d did away with His Law, and that we can do what we want and live how we want?
yeah but if you remember what it says in the prophecies; that he would write His Law on our hearts and put it in our minds.

It's not that tattoo equals hell. The Bible always tells us that the cost of sin is death. Therefore, it is sin that equals to hell. If one act is wrong we must repent to Jesus and turn away from it. It's always sin that we abhor

I got tattoos before being saved, yet I still get judged by certain people in the apostolic church.
If you could get then on, there's no excuse on why you can't get them off. Prostitutes are expected to change how the dress if they end up following Jesus. Why can't you be expected to be done away with your past as well?
This is not a judgment but a question.
Are Christians worried their imaginary friend will judge them if they get a tattoo or something?
Why are you worried about something that you believe doesn't exist?
