▬▬ More On My Background ▬▬
I took French on and off for 15 years in the Canadian education system, but learned literally nothing. I don’t remember anything except maybe some pronouns, colors, and “est-ce que je peux aller au toilette s’il vous plait?”
So at the start of my 30 day French Challenge, I took a placement test and it put me in A1 beginner level. So while I was not a COMPLETE beginner to French, I was still very much a beginner.
I’m also not completely new to Tagalog. I grew up hearing Tagalog through my family and at the start of my 30 day Tagalog challenge, I could understand the language pretty decently, although I couldn’t speak it.
So to some extent, no, I’m not a 100% beginner to any of these languages I’ve learned so far. I’ve had some exposure to them and had it pretty easy so far. Still, I believe that the principles of The Road Trip Method are helpful.

I love the idea of using a transcription tool to find your most commonly used words. I feel like that would make learning any new language feel much more organic and natural to your own speech. It’s like creating a personalized gateway to the language.
I saw ur vid about french Yesterday. Now I'm more motivated to learn this language
You got this 💪
Fr💀me too😂
It is so important to have a motive/reason/goal to learn a language.
The best video I saw this year. I’m French and currently learning Japanese. It motivated me to create a new routine and follow my dream ! Thanks Ameer ! I will post updates under this comment in few months !
Au passage, ton français est très bon ! Ta prononciation est excellente ! 👌
Ah, merci beaucoup Romain !
Heyy since you are french so wanna ask you can i learn french on youtube(like i mean is it necessary to get those expensive courses to learn french?😭)i would really appreciate your reply
@@Emerson-pi2ff hey ! Ameer made a video about learning french but no, of course you don't have to buy those courses ! Actually I don't know any UA-cam channel about learning French but I'm sure there is plenty. If you wanna buy books, I recommend "Le Bled" ! Even French people use it so I think it is pretty good. I just didn't used it myself (obviously) so I can't say more. Good luck with your studies !
@@romaingarraud1523 tysm
blown away by the quality of this video. so informative and helpful! i’m feeling extra motivated to tackle learning tagalog in this way :)
You’re insane!
I never ever leave any comments on UA-cam but now I want to say big thanks for such quality content about languages learning 😊
I am Russian and at school I used to study 3 foreign languages. Now I’ve come up with an idea to study an additional one - Spanish. And I do like that your advice is different from a decade of others channels I’ve already seen trying to figure out how I can speed up this leaning process.
Thanks again, keep going with your cool videos!❤
YO HE SANG THE SONG FROM MONACO!
Discord is also good for talking to people in your target language
Could you elaborate on it? How can I find an English native speaker and in return, I can help with Urdu?
how do you use it? could u give me a piece of advice?
@@Drago_Ler just go on any English server or you can go on a server dedicated to learning languages
@@Drago_Ler also polyglot servers help a lot
I'm blown away by this video! Thank you Ameer for taking the time to put this together. I'm so grateful!!
This was so well made holy the animations
You have inspired me to learn French more quickly. I’ve been using duo for 400 days. I love it but I feel like I could be doing more. You have literally took me to school on what to do. You are the best UA-camr I have found. And I believe you because come people pretend and don’t put up their flaws. I appreciate you for being authentic.
Wow, this method was well thought out and developed.
This channel deserves more viewers
If UA-cam had a wrapped, your video would be number one. So captivating and interesting, Busuu is also a very interesting tool for me ! Thank you so much !
This video is really nice! I love learning languages and I’m currently studying French linguistics and literature (I’m a native German) and I still learned things from your video! Amazing quality though!
Yup, this is it. Starting french tomorrow. Thankyou Ameer
I recently gave my final board exam on French, after missing out around 5 years of basics people learnt in school because i joined freshman year of highschool.
I took help from my cousin who learnt french through Lingoda, I'm pretty sure.
I got really motivated to learn the language because i grasped it pretty fast even though the school doesn't provide facilities after 10th grade.
I'm looking for all the resources to learn and seeing you learn all this in 30 days definetely gives me the push i needed.
Thinking of self learning french in the upcoming year in my free time!
Me too planning to learn french by myself. Is it possible that i can learn it by using the free resources available on the internet? Or is it necessary to purchase the live class type courses?
Thank you for this video:) this is how i relearned Tagalog too! I’m glad more people out here doing it
This video was beautiful I didn't know what I hadn't seen before 😭😭 don't stop either to making videos or learning languages or whatever you want to. You're great man 🎉
This video has fantastic quality! I really enjoyed watching it! Thanks, man, keep up the awesome work!
Continue !
One of the best videos I’ve seen in a while. Informative and had me rolling. Thank you and great job dude!
super cool thank you for sharing and showing its possible, I definitely wanna add this to my list of things I wanna do!
I just feel motivated by your video. Thx for that. I hope next year I’ll be telling you I’m in France doing my master's 🙏🏾 you have a fan from Brazil.
I love the analogies you made, associating cars and language learning concepts❤
Thanks for sharing your story! You're a great storyteller!
thank you for this video because I finally find my purpose of learning Spanish. Not because of the culture, food, or good-looking guys(probably), but I want to connect with them emotionally. I'll be working in California as a foreign nurse from Taiwan, and besides from english that I already use to, there are latinos there. So if I want to help those patients who speak Spanish, I must understand them first and build a relationship with them. That's the reason I want to learn Spanish:)
That’s awesome!! I’m improving my English skills! Still improving!!
That's a pretty awesome goal, I wish you lot's of success in it.
This was awesome, so informative and well thought-out, the daddy Huberman section made be crack up too. Will apply this method to Spanish and do a few sprints starting now. Much love bro. ❤
Thank you for this. I Like the idea of the 5 mins trying to talk / record yourself. 👍🏾
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! This honestly is so helpful in my continued quest to self study of Japanese. Best of luck to you as you continue your way to fluency!
I definitely resonate with this as someone who lost touch with a lot of people after uni. Been working on rebuilding that the past year. Really appreciated what you said that sometimes being just physically present is enough. Love your vids man ❤
i wanna learn french so much!! thankyou for making this video
Thank you for this video it REALLY HELPS!
Thank YOU for watching :)
Thanks for sharing! Worth watching!
Your editing is nice and your transparency in the beginning was a breath of fresh air. Thnx for the modivation!
ur video really motivated me to not quit my french and german journey. all of yours tips are so unique and essential!!
(obs: indeed, i'm not native in english and i kinda practiced my english with this video so this is a double thanks)
Great video!
Thank you for releasing such a wonderful video!
I really like this and your character. I only have some friends who speak French.I should start studying French to talk w them by using your tips!
omg, i just started learning french and was looking for a more planned study, but this video literally made me cry. I will definitely use this method.
Thank you so much for the video❤ cannot not mention the beauty of the picture and the video edit, so lovely I enjoyed
BRO YOU GOT ME TEARING UP DURING THAT OUTRO LOLLLLL. Thank you so much for this video. It was so beautifully made and so inspiring. I feel like this was exactly what I needed to really take the next step in my language-learning journey. Plus, your humor is top-tier. I will be subscribing.
Really like the study schedule ...have been trying to organize one ...thanks!
I’ve been seeing this video on my suggested for a while now. Boy why didn’t I watch this any sooner! Best quality
this was so useful, thank you
This is extremely useful. I hope more language learners find this video.
Thanks sooo much. This is immensely useful
the guitar part was goated!!! loved the video bro, thank you
That conclusion is amazing. I think my biggest problem is discipline when trying to break through the A2-B1 barrier. I now have a sign that tells me why am I learning German in the first place in my room. Thank you.
thank you so much for this video. I watched your french in 30 days video when I was looking into learning the language, but I knew that I would be burnt out immediately if I did it in a 30 day sprint lol. cheers
So helpful. Thanks kababayan!
this video was so well edited. i loved watching it.
What a fantastic video, love your storytelling style. Thanks.
what a way to start the new year! i was losing some of my motivation to learn polish, and this video is exactly what i needed
I’m learning polish and I’m so suprized how many other people I see learning it. Have you checked out the channel “think in Polish” it has great beginner content
Thank you.🎉
Wow this is honestly great advice totally deserves more likes!
dude you're amazing!!
Amazing video! ❤
Ngl this video really motivated me! I'm super insecure about my accent when speaking just about any foreign language, but especially French; plus I lack vocab and grammar knowledge :,) I really hope to improve this year
That otter Ai sounds like an amazing idea! Wow. I will try it because it does make sense to use the most common vocabulary words that I use in my person like and conversations. Great video! Thank you.
I will try this soon with Spanish!!! Thanks Ameer!!!
Hello Ameer! I am Taiwanese. I started learning French in 2024. It is great that I could watch this video during my learning journey. This video has helped me understand how to adjust my learning methods.
It will not only improve my French but also help me make progress in English!
(For example, writing this comment. 😆)
Ur so underrated this video is by far the best I’ve watched on this topic and it has motivated me so much, only problem I have is the speaking part 😅
This video is by far 1 of the best languages learning tips ever ( and those are the only really works ! )
This is such a well made, entertaining and useful video, thanks so much❤
I love your videos, thank you for sharing your experiences
favorite video of all time, thanks man
Maann this video is so soothing and clear, thanks for it!
Why this video is so good? You're incredibly brilliant, love your creativity.
This deserves way more views! Love the documentary feel
Hey seriously Ameer you made this way to fun to watch 1/3 in I have to cast to the TV now so it worths the quality!
this was so inspiring!!
Probably the only video that we needed.
Wow... I just finished watching this video and it's amazing. I have never been more motivated to continue learning a language.
also my like is 666 xd
I’m learning Tagalog too! I would love to have a video in depth about your process!
You are multi-talented!
love it , thanks so much. I've been trying to learn Spanish, so I'll try it out,.
Bonjour,
Thank you mate ;)
Merci beaucoup!
I think you conflate popularity with learning proficiency. Nathaniel Drew is clearly not an expert, and you are clearly proficient. Awesome video all around. Subbed
I liked this video so much ❤
Thnkz my main reason is to get through in my gocerment but the best way to improve a place is just with communication and languages are a way to connect an wakw up in the morning n think in the tommorroww
merci beaucoup mon amis
The end really got my heart ngl
damn. U're goat. Just started my French yesturday. Hope it will be fast
Hey, I love your editing style, what do you use?? LOVE
I'm a language learner for years now and this video is what everbody needs, I also appreciate how can you think about all of this, ang talino mo po 🥹🫶
I NEED To know how you edit man its just so WOW
16:46 definitely opened my eyes about DWS ( DEEP WORK SESSION) Made me able to study for 4hrs today !!
In fifth grade, the teacher gathered us in a circle and started a conversation about ethnicity, a topic that had never come up at home and thus I had always assumed I was just American.
This conversation from fall 1995 sparked an interest in other countries that continues to this day, and this makes me want to visit other countries. This is why I am interested in learning other languages, so I don’t have to go around saying, “Do you speak English?” to everyone.
One thing I have tried is replying to post and leaving comments on UA-cam videos that are in my target language. (The comments are of course in the language of the OP.)
how you doing?. Ameer-insane ! be well! 👌
What a well made video.
Brilliant video
Tu gère vraiment en français, chapeau bas
bro ive been trying to learn french for almost 2 years now and youre better than me 😂
Your humor coupled with talking about language learning has gotten you a new sub.
You said macaroni...haaaaaaaaaaa
