I think it's amazing that the second episode gave us such a deeper side to Stolas, considering the very early impressions we all had of him. He has become my favorite character for this reason
'Loo Loo Land' is the episode I use to introduce people to this series. It has everything Helluva Boss is known for crammed into one story; raunchy jokes, murder, and, most importantly, real relationships.
Recasting Brock Baker with Bryce Pinkham was a 120% net positive for HB. I can't imagine him delivering his more endearing and soft moments as anyone else, and I wouldn't have it any other way

I have confidence it’s gonna be a happy episode for Stolitz Blitzø is starting to have some positives in his life and seeing Ozzie and Fizz probably helped him realize that it is possible for a royal to love an imp. And Fizz forgiving him and rekindling their friendship probably helped him realize he can be loved and even forgiven I really think this is gonna be a happy episode

The "I don't have the words" bit will always be one of my favorite moments from this series. So many writers are obsessed with creating "perfect" dialogue that they sometimes forget to let natural conversation happen, and especially about difficult topics that never goes smoothly.

Honestly, changing the voice actor for Stolas was the best decision "Helluva Boss" ever made. Bryce really made Stolas a genuinely sweet character of a person. Sure he has his lewd sexual side but he's someone who really wants to be loved sincerely and had to put up with abuse in order to take care of his daughter. I want Stolas to be happy so bad!
I love Stolas so much... Abused since childhood, neglected, forbade from being himself, even went through presumably many martial r@pes, but none of that has ever transferred through him directly to Octavia. Yes she's grown with her parents fighting, but Stolas was putting up with the abuse attempting to support the one person he's ever loved unconditionally, the one he'll always protect, the one good thing that came from over a decade of abuse...
Plus it seems that Octavia genuinely didn't know about her parents terrible relationship until later in life, or at least had it excused away by Stolas. He tried to protect her for as long as he could.
I love Stolas as a character, but I'm also continuously surprised by how much of the old "Ars Goetia" version of him made it into this show. The fact that he calls his daughter STARfire, constantly doing things associated with astronomy (which was the "real" Stolas's whole bag), even more so in his latest number "Just Look My Way", or the stars in his cape, the fact that he is a crowned owl, with very long legs, like for real, Viv did a PHENOMENAL job designing this character based off of a centuries old description in an occult reference book. Just incredible. And Bryce truly brought him to life. Such a masterful performance with so so much nuance and depth. Honestly when I first saw Stolas in the pilot, I thought he was going to one-dimensional as hell. Boy was I glad to be wrong.
Interesting fact: Bryce Pinkham became the whole reason why Stolas's character was changed comparing to pilot (and first episode possibly) ❤ 3:50 - 3:57 That line and Delivery are so BRILLIANT 👏💎 😂😂 Best Stolas's line FIGHT ME if you dare 😂

I feel like Stolas and Charlie would be besties. they would totally put on a concert with Ozzie while Fizz is doing a circus act in the background, and Blitz is on security detail. M&M would want to join but with all the other more powerful diva demons on stage they'd probably not get a chance unless Charlie stepped in. demons would die, some would have fun, angel dust would be "earning" drug money, Alastor would be broadcasting, Vaggie would be helping with security, and Husker would be drinking in the corner. It would be utter chaos.
All of you complementing Bryce are absolutely right, and I agree. Now that *that's* out the way... These animators/storyboarders are clever! I never noticed any of these about his eyes before this compilation: 1) he has 4 eyes and two pupils (for his larger set) 2) the eyebrows carry a huge plurality (if not half) the facial expressions, aside from the fantastic "squash and stretch" 3) his smaller (secondary?) pair of eyes are ALWAYS more honest than his larger set, regardless of some of the ambiguitiy in the underlying emotions I love it when storytellers put in little things for us to pick up on. 🥰
I love how when he realizes why Via went to the mortal realm you can see tiny little white dots in his eyes, shaking, its one of the few times I remember seeing pupils in his eyes, most the time his eyes are just the red/pinkish color. Its a great touch for when his emotions are high its great

I love Bryce's acting sm he truly shaped and makes stolas character the way he is now, just like Viv and Brandon said recently at a panel. Throughout this entire song, he’s on the verge of crying, and the makeup running down his face tells us that he was already crying. So of course his voice would be strained. The point is, this song is still great, and shows just how crushed he is, both physically, and emotionally

Stolas was a spirit I’ve had much interest in over the decade, so this is a… “interesting” take on the spirit. Although, out of all the Goetic Spirits mentioned and shown, he is the most physically alike to the description of mighty Stolas: a crowned owl (tho, sometimes a raven), with really, really long legs. He’s a Prince of hell, and can teach the science of astronomy to the summoner, as well as the natures of herbs and minerals and their uses.
Love it when voice actors have good delivery and perfect timing, it really makes their characters feel alive and real. The best one I can think of off the top of my head is Yzma from The Emperor's New Groove. Her voice actor went above and beyond and moved like her character was animated in the movie, giving her voice more personality.

I love Bryce's acting sm he truly shaped and makes stolas character the way he is now, just like Viv and Brandon said recently at a panel. Bryce makes stolas so lovable- S1 Ep 2 is when we first truly see his character shine. I look forward to his song next month :')

I love the design of Stolas as well, specifically his eyes. His pupils only show when he's feeling extreme emotions. They also glow more in certain moments
I remember people not liking Owl in a Cage. Granted it doesn’t sound the best but I feel like that’s the point. This song is only moments after Blitz drives off, and he knows he fucked up. Throughout this entire song, he’s on the verge of crying, and the makeup running down his face tells us that he was already crying. So of course his voice would be strained.
The point is, this song is still great, and shows just how crushed he is, both physically, and emotionally

Stolas was a spirit I’ve had much interest in over the decade, so this is a… “interesting” take on the spirit. Although, out of all the Goetic Spirits mentioned and shown, he is the most physically alike to the description of mighty Stolas: a crowned owl (tho, sometimes a raven), with really, really long legs. He’s a Prince of hell, and can teach the science of astronomy to the summoner, as well as the natures of herbs and minerals and their uses.

Love it when voice actors have good delivery and perfect timing, it really makes their characters feel alive and real. The best one I can think of off the top of my head is Yzma from The Emperor's New Groove. Her voice actor went above and beyond and moved like her character was animated in the movie, giving her voice more personality.
