Those mechanics were saying that, it was supposed to be like that. But every youtube clips I watched, it was all flush. What is your opinion on that? (the gap between the headtube and the spacers) should it be a big gap about 2-3 mm in between? Let me know

    I wonder, if I end up buying a closeout G3 Venge, if I can change that overweight Venge stem for the new Tarmac version? I know the routing is different but it shouldn't make a difference with electronic shifting unless there's something I am not seeing.
    I think I would buy the SL7 second tier before any of the S-works. But a good deal on a Venge Pro would be competitive with the SL7 Pro (Di2). The main advantage in the SL7 would be slightly lower weight and better wheels in the CL or CLX version (though no way to experiment with tubeless without getting different wheels for it). I think if I were to start off with the $3000 SL7 frameset I'd go for an all Campy build and see about buying the CLX wheels for it.

      You mean the dura ace cassette with plastic core, bending? Cracking? I replaced it with XG-1190. And the DA chain with Campy Record 11. Flawless quiet, i get 20,000 kms per sram cassette and 3500 campy flawless superior metallurgy chain that outlasts the shimano by 3000 kms... no vibration translation nor axial rotation while moving.. I can ship you unused DA chain. A few days ago after 600 kms of slight shift issues rear, readjusted the R-9100 only to find the cause. At 11,000 kms the cable retaining screw receiver had threaded. Derailleur done. Cable was on iffy tension. Threw it and mounted the Ultegra 8000. Its cable screw receiver still good. Flawless again. Ordered two new rd 9100s at jensons. So yes Shimano is important but sram cassettes and campy chains never failed me. Shimanos yes..

    Great video and build 👍. Very interesting small adapter, to run throw the frame brake hose, with the help of shift cable.
    Is this peace custom made or is it something you can buy?
    Running Di2 cables from the shifters to the back can be little fiddly?
    Still waiting for Shimano to put out, at least half the wireless option like FSA and finally get rid of some of the EW-SD50 cables from the front if not all of them. Would get this build much more easier.
    Can imagine pulling alongside brake hose two normal shifting cables with sound dampening foam. Could be a nightmare.....😱

  • @MrWesman43
    @MrWesman43 4 роки тому +6

    So this frame is heavier than the SL6 and more expensive. The frame alone is 2K USD more expensive than the lower spec carbon frame ? Really 2K extra worth of raw materials ?! The fork steerer now has a hole in it to route hoses ! Like this isn’t a high stress critical component with previous high failure rates and also subject to mass recalls historically ! Threaded bottom brackets are basically an admission that specialised are incapable of mass manufacturing a frame within the tolerances necessary for press fit, while still maintaining low production costs.
