Perhaps you might already be aware, but this was recently a bug that has been traced down to a consistent cause. When Diddy Kong grabs an opponent during hitlag (NOT HITSTUN) and immediately does an attack, he will go flying with the opponent the same distance that they were launched. The attack is not being cancelled, you're just able to act out of it really really quickly. This is pretty rare, because grabbing an opponent during hitlag is quite tricky. Hitlag is not hitstun, and rather the frames that both characters would normally be frozen during an attack. If you go into training mode frame by frame with falcon and knee the computer, you will see that both Falcon and the CPU are frozen in place for a handful of frames before the Computer is launched and Falcon continues falling. That is what hitlag is. The only consistent set-up that has been found within the comptetitive ruleset is a VERY strict timing involving Diddy's banana hitting the opponent and grabbing them the exact frame that it lands. Its a very niche tech/bug, but also rather interesting. Oh, and to clear up EXACTLY what happened in this situation, Diddy Kong still had invincibility from the halo platform, and the K. Rool dash attacked him. The Diddy Kong grabbed the K. Rool during the frames that the Dash Attack put him in hitlag, and then the Diddy did the attack immediately. Hope this clears up some confusion !
If anyone wants to see the Replay I posted it in shared content ID is N183LY10 you can study the side b to forward air see if it's possible I know I'm not going to figure it out
I'm confused because side b has a lot of lag when you grab let go of the opponent the CPU shouldnt have gotten a forward air it look like the CPU canceled side b or something the CPU canceled it were the CPU had no lag some how. I'm not sure how the CPU did it. Im not sure what the inputs were I wish I did. If someone could explain how to do this that would be nice
Cpus are interesting creatures one minute the match is going normally the next their kicking your ass with some odd combo that they seemingly pulled out of nowhere
@@Cryogenicbanana Yeah but im pretty sure it was a cancel that I have never seen anybody do. Also CPUs never kick my ass but this combo makes no sense at all your right it did come out of nowhere Carson. I just find this combo interesting and want to figure out how to do it. I want to improve as a player if I figure out how to this I would have one more combo with Diddy.
Turbo mode, maybe? Fact, this cant be done because of the lag. You can cancel diddys lag with anymove but wouldnt be able to move foward with k. Rool since diddy stays in place and has ass air mobility.

this is called boosted slap attack, player-1 has a video on it! really interesting that the cpu managed to do it lol
Someone needs to get this to tweek or dakpo. Stat!

@@Naven4 pretty sure you dashed attack and the cpu side b and maybe that’s why I think that happen

Its not turbo mode. I shared it in shared content ID is N183LY10 so you can see it's not turbo mode.
Watching the whole replay may help
That's weird
