  • Whitcomb #20 of the Buffalo Creek & Gauley RR pulls an out-of-service steam engine from the Widen engine house on the S gauge layout of Brooks Stover. The BC&G was a coal hauling shortline in West Virginia. The Whitcomb was brought in by Majestic Mining when they purchased the railroad in 1971. The Whitcomb body was stratchbuilt from styrene and the chassis is a modified American Models Baldwin. Sound is from a Tsunami Baldwin 608NA. The steam engine is an American Flyer 0-8-0 that was converted to a 2-8-0 to represent BC&G #14. The prototype of this engine is now on display in Gaithersburg, MD.
