most people don't appreciate the beauty of these birds because they are scavengers but they do one of the most important works of the animal kingdom they clean the world we live in and we should appreciate them for that (:
i love how a small vulture that was Lucky enough to be among the first ones to come to the feast, just picks up a good chunk of it and runs like hell to enjoy it alone and in peace leaving the big ones to fight over the rest of the food!
I don't think you have ever been close to one. :) They are disgusting birds and carry all sorts of disease. I know they serve a vital role in nature but.. boy are they nasty, they stink as well. The Caracara is very neat and considered a falcon. I've got to see them a few times in Brevard country Fl.
+Loki Lyesmyth actually, these vultures aren't as infected with bacteria as you would think. they have clever ways to eliminate the bacteria, and for the turkey vulture, that means urinating on their legs. or for all vultures, having a featherless head.
had a dead opossum in my front yard a few weeks ago. took only two days for a small group of turkey vultures to clean everything except for the fur, tail, and bones.
"One minute later." These birds don't wait, one minute after the guy left, they are on clean up duty. Fascinating creatures. They can eat the bacteria and diseased meat of animals to prevent it from spreading to other scavengers. Vultures are truly amazing.
That is not a good idea. They are a federally protected species, and trying to keep one captive is a felony. One must be a licensed rehabilitator in order to keep one in your own custody.
Hate to tell you all, but horrible sense of "humor" aside, eating scavengers would taste foul. (No pun intended. ) The animals that humans eat tend to be overwhelmingly vegetarian. In fact, black vultures are known to prefer the flesh of other animals that are not carnivores.
I'm no expert but unless vultures have something that kills all the nasty bacterial infested shit they eat, you'd probably get really sick 4/10 good b8 m8
@@cindys9491 Hello Cindy, I have seen dead vultures on the side of roads and I cannot recall of seeing another vulture or anything eating it. I think it is reserved for maggots only. EEEWWW maggots.

Sadly vultures don’t live down here in australia. We could really use them cuz there is roadkill everywhere
I think it's cool how vultures are pretty much silent except for the cool hissing sound they can make.
They also make a hoarse lazy barking sound, kind like "woof".
They lack a syrinx which is the avian equivalent to vocal cords.
Thanks for the reply. I learned something.@@cloverleaf4829
The black ones were making grunting sounds most of the time though.
What beautiful vultures and a cara cara smattering! Very wonderful.

The vulture's intense stomach acids can kill off a good majority of internal bacteria, in which would be fatal to a lot of other animals.
I love that you were feeding them! Sometimes wildlife needs a little help.

Did they eat the stomach & intestines? Dead possum near me and they left a pile of innards, everything else was just fur and bones.
You're a Good Man to help those Vultures.....they are truly beautiful birds.
Donald Pedigo yes u are right
Thank you for the comment. I do like birds of the sky.
I wonder if those birds are in danger of extinction
@@CHEVYCAMARO4GEN haha, they have all the food they need! they are no where close to extinction in north america

Cara cara are so beautiful definitely worthy of being the Mexican national bird.
I like how one of those vultures turned off the camera like a gangster haha
Falcons and vultures living together…mass hysteria.
Even though falcons are much cooler birds (the peregrines, to be specific.)
Cool! Made a bird feeder for black vultures, turkey vultures & crested caracaras.
I thought the cara cara was pretty neat.

If you fly an R C glider you can kinda sorta hang with them I do and it is fun, thanks for the comment, Pat.
By all means, watch my videos. I hang out with them, feed them from my hand and play tug of war with them.
