A few weeks after easter weekend, we returned to the Ratty for the Gala, after a verry early morning start and a long arrive we arrived on shed just after day break.
Very nice to see 'The Bug' visiting from the RHDR in service here. Back in the 80s it wasn't used very much on the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Rly, being mainly used for works trains (it had been one of the line's construction locos in the 1920s and was never intended for passenger trains, though it was planned to be used for goods traffic. This never materialised and it was sold in the 30s, working in Belfast and Manchester , then returned to the RHDR in the 70s) In the 80s as a casual rider on the line, I got into conversation with the general manager who was on my train and he asked what things I would like to see on the railway. I mentioned I'd love to travel on a service pilled by 'The Bug' - he said it was a bit too slow for passenger trains - tho' it seems fast enough here!
toby harlin , use use a range of photo editors and drawing apps, some times to get the best result I am after, I can end up using around a dozen on one shot.
Strange, UA-cam must have some how lost a section of the sound as it was there, just tried it and didn’t work for either, could be some false sound claim as UA-cam do. This with copyright music.

It looks fast but it's going quite a bit slower than some of it's Romney counterparts - it's also worth noting the train isn't too long either!

I’ve been to the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway twice, in 2007 (for my 3rd birthday) and 2012.
Well worth another trip, they have just posted this years time tables on their website
