Brilliant. I first loved how Peter Gabriel managed to twist the concept of marriage into something out of a horror movie. And it would have been easy enough for you just to paint by numbers. But I like that instead of "just" horror, you went for something out of Poe or Lovecraft. That's damn spectacular. Marriage is very human, but Poe and Lovecraft worked at the extreme end of humanity. And you bring those opposing ends together. Forcibly. Unnaturally. A human concept, divorced from nature. As was Gabriel's point. A divorce as a wedding. Inspired!
This really brought me to an entirely new perspective of the song and its meaning. Baffled how you can so cleverly and effectively display Peter Gabriel's words in motion!
ANOTHER GEM FROM GABRIEL4 SOLO ALBUM MASTERPIECE Maybe we ' ll see the rythm of the heat/ San Jancinto/ Or the monkey that get schock in the future thanks for the work, mate!
God damn, that was awesome. Probably one of the best Gabriel's songs and you additionally put together a visualisation to the song. That was a whole different of an experience than Just listening to this great song alone. Really appreciate the work you put into that.
Mate, this is amazing! Not what I was expecting, but amazing. I'm actually compiling a couple short horror stories based on songs and I was working on this, but it seems you beat me to the punch. You've a completely different interpretation, but that's for the best, really. Hats off to you, Mr. Barlam!
Congratulations for this new job. It was not an easy subject to illustrate, since the letter has a central argument that is enriched with secondary arguments and subliminal messages. In fact, it seems that Peter Gabriel is comparing a wedding ceremony with a satanic possession ritual, and this lent itself to evoke several possible images in some verses. I am glad that you now also use the color in the illustrations. This can be useful for the following jobs.
Or the crazy idea of the blood sacrifice of the communion. Early Christians were killed because they were having rituals where they were eating the body and drinking the blood of their savior. Twisted stuff. Headless chickens VOODOO. This song has a lot to do with Carl Jung which Peter was reading at the time.
Sir, I don't believe I gave you permission to illustrate something that didn't have the words "Colony" or "Slippermen" in the title. Back to your cellar! Jk, love your work as always!
2:00 Light creeps through her secret tunnels sucked into the open spaces Sets one to ponder if Leonard Cohen had been influenced by these lyrics when he'd written... There is a crack a crack in everything that's how the light gets in Reckon i'll ask him first time I see him next.

You should do Family Snapshot, dude. It's so visual and visceral it's practically crying out for your unique spin on it.
It was my second choice after this song, definitely a great track. Hopefully someday I get the time to do it!
@@NathanielBarlam Well, remind me to drop a few quid into your Patreon sometime soon, because I'd love to see that.

You should do more of Peter Gabriel's solo stuff. This is excellent!
Your Lamb interpretation is a masterpiece, but I daresay this is your best video yet. Captured every lyric of the song perfectly. Thank you.
Strange, it seems I was not the only one who got slightly cthuloid vibes from that song
This song cuts deep.
The video goes hard.
A job's been done well.
Excellent work, awaiting eagerly "The Musical Box"
In my opinion... this is your best work so far. (and probably a welcome break for you from the daunting task of illustrating TLLD).

I was gonna say this. That's THE cinematic Gabriel song.

Thank you very much for the comment and the information. It is clear that most followers of this music are people who think and something enlightened.
This is incredible.

I was just playing this to my wife the other day. What a work of audio art... Great job trying to visualize this abstract tricky text !
One of my favorite pg songs
