I used to work at a food bank and no longer do. The level of greed is astounding, people turn up in cars and take as much food as they can lay their hands on, it always got busier AFTER the BBC starts saying everyone is going to foodbanks.
Also what annoys me is these people who look so unhealthy will totally pass on the fresh fruit and vegetables, and then have the nerve to complain there is not enough food.

If the government found enough money to put illegal immigrants in 4 star hotels then there was enough money to get every homeless person off the street years ago. They just chose not to. Vote Reform 🇬🇧🏴
He makes me laugh .. Blame the person with the adduction and not the government who refuse to help them.. If he hadn't had such good parents he could be in that situation himself.. Then he can justify not giving money....

There are people in genuine need, that need the help of a food bank, but as with everything, there are abusers and people that take advantage of the generosity of others.
Who are these awful people?

I received 3 parcels from a food bank. Then I got a job. I now buy a can of something and put it into the box at Sainsburys as I leave. If used properly, they can help. Unfortunately, people are self cantered and selfish. They take bags of food when they are no worse off than the majority.

@anthonybardsley4985 The urge to acquire and store must be strong in human nature. The behaviours of clients are identical in every country that operates such programmes. Anecdotes in my country of Chy-neze residents parking in their Mercedes SUV and using the free food pantry.
Chain smokers and drinkers all the time at my local food bank,then they play the gambling machines at W Hill bookies..MONEY NO OBJECT

I think what he means is overweight people on mobility scooters on all the benefits getting to churches before the people who need it even cutting in queues pulling money out of there pockets as they look for there tobacco .and before you ask I've worked a lot worked before Christmas job finished job centre gave me nothing for two months then £60 pound for december before that id never seen a full payment of universal credit and i get asked daily by people who get three times the amount i do a month if ive got any change
Do not give money to the big charities shelter last year made £36 million. This is one homeless charity out of 40 in the UK so how much money are these people making out of other peoples misery? Absolute disgrace like every other charity they need the homeless to survive

Yes the top salary ten years ago were in the millions. It's a disgusting scam and the genuine folks in need don't know where to go for help.

The irony is that corporations and government’s support welfare that make the state daddy to the worker as a way to ensure that you never rise out of your position but stay comfortable in your position until it becomes unsustainable and they’ll then blame privatisation forever keeping the workers unaware they are essentially being mislead and used.

I've had to use a food bank...... to be dead honest the food you are given is not realy any good..... I no beggers can't be chooses but its not the best....... o and you can only use it twice. So it realy is only a short fix....... I did get a nice tin of pairs and a tin of custard that was about the best thing in it....o an sum rice. And bread with no butter...🙃...luv u nige

There's a food bank in sunderlandcwhere the refugees go,then they walk away,with 2 full carrier bags,throwing away cucumbers,cabbage tomatoes, fruit etc on the road.EVERY DAY.
@teddiver-gf6dj What to do?? The Foodbank people attempt to provide nutritious staples regardless of who you are. I think if I were running it, I'd ask clients first if they had cooking facilities or wanted items to cook with. In fact, I think I'd give them an Order List while they were queuing. So they could just tick biscuits, crisps, bread, spreads, cereal, chocolate etc if that's all they wanted.
Develpoing a Benefit Culture demoralises the nation and makes people dependent on the state to the point where their attempts to work carry little reward.
There are loads of people taking advantage of food banks that really do not need help but just take whatever is going...so unfair to people who really are in dire straights.
I used a food bank once and it helped me when I was really down on my life .. support them , but what he is saying is true , this is years ago now but a local well known beggar was in his usual place outside the chip shop , begging for money for food , I bought him a chip barm and he looked at me like I was dirt and threw it into to road .. most beggars don’t want food , they want drugs
I worked at a homeless shelter for 12 months. 90% of these people are nothing but a drain on society just as much as the illegals. They have no intention of getting off the streets. They used the rooms as just somewhere warm to do their drugs. They refuse to conform to the shelter's rules. They will stay out in all weathers, especially in the snow, because that's when they get more money from begging. They then sleep all day, then demand food because they've missed the canteen opening times. They throw tantrums if they don't get their own way. They are always a "victim". They are disrespectful, rude and so terribly demanding. They know every trick in the book to get more PIP.Some got more benefits than I did in wages for working there doing 12 hour nights. Some boasted of begging thousands a month - on top of their benefits. But they never ever had any money because it ALL went on heroin.
I could go on and on ,but it's just so depressing.
Food banks are helping to some extent. A few staple ingredients is something. I believe even the food banks are struggling. I have seen one leaving bread and rolls outside wrapped in plastic when they are closed at least someone can get a slice of bread. The trouble is also that electricity and gas bills make cooking an expensive business. Old cookers aren't power conscious.
Even on benefits you have enough for food. Single family whatever. It’s just free stuff that scroungers want for nowt. I’ve used them when I was first injured and out of work and it’s not even proper food that u can make meals out of. It’s long oifemilk teabags beans pasta. Random crap. It’s so people can feel good about themselves giving to the poor.
I felt like a twat eating pasta and beans but I had a cup of tea. It’s meant to supplement u not feed u.
