Yes, Mike. Our attitude is everything. We can either look for solutions to move forward or keep complaining about what's wrong in our lives. Ultimately, how we play the hand we are dealt matters way more than the cards we get in life. 🙂

Well said. And, to be fair, even with a good attitude you're not guaranteed anything. You will likely do much better than if you've got a bad attitude but even if you can't solve your problems completely, you inevitable land in a better place than where you started.

I only watched a few of your videos, but I already wish I had a father like you.
Every video though is full of gems for the mind.
    Thank you

Wow, that's very kind. I'm far from perfect, as I'm sure you know. As I get older a few of life's lessons seem to finally sink in but I still have so much to lean. Bless you.

I give my attention to UA-cam education - and so glad I stumbled on your channel! Altho I already knew all of this it's good to be reminded that what you pay attention to is probably the most important thing in terms of one's development in life. *As a sidenote - it's like pulling teeth when I have to watch a movie with the missus - all the while thinking "I could be learning something instead of this nonsense".

Haha! Learning can become addictive; a good addiction of course.

I think many of us are better at helping others than ourselves. This is a profitable strategy when we take agency, and put an equal amount of value, if not more, into ourselves. Weirdly, it’s easier to help someone else than ourselves (at least for me). There’s a lot more at stake if we take a chance on ourselves. I’m starting to learn that I’m the only bet worth making. I don’t have to be resentful. I have the right to be successful. Maybe not rich, but independent, well off, and loved.

I call that defeatist attitude "locking in failure".

Calling it "locking in failure" is perfect! I am going to start using that phrase-it's so good. And true.

@@MikeGastin for real though, I've struggled for most of my life with making changes. I recently started dealing with my adhd and it finally feels like things are possible.

Change can be really hard. I think it feels scary for a lot of people, like things might get out of control. One step at a time,
