I was so lucky to holiday in sandford park just after starting to learn the organ, and had the great pleasure of meeting Brian and going behind the scenes of the christie organ, a gentlemen and without doubt the most influential musician for me as an organist.he is sadly missed.
Such a loss. I live only a couple of mile from Sandford Park and used to go and listen to him. Sandford Park is near Poole in Dorset, UK. Sadly the organ is no more either. I don't know what happened to it.
The organ from Sandford Park was restored to its original specification and is still enjoying a happy life entertaining folks at the Curzon Community Cinema in Clevedon.
They messed about with this beautiful organ fitting different ranks, silly lights, midi and cheesy tone modules etc to it. It originally came from the Grand Cinema Poole, but ended up in a caravan park in Wareham where it was ruined. I understand it's being put back to its original spec in it's new home in Devon. It's a 14 rank Christie (or was) and not a Compton, as stated. .
Oh my Oh my what a man he was. and i had the very great privilege to know him and his lovely wife and miss them both all the time.
I saw Brian several times in the uk. He was responsible for starting me on my electronic organ playing journey. Thank you so much Brian.
Oh what fantastic memories of Brian playing at Sanford park on many family holidays. So sadly missed.
thank you for posting this wonderful music 🙏
I saw him live twice in the 80’s. Looking at him, you wouldn’t think the wonderful sounds came from him. He was certainly one of my favourites.
