  • In this video I get my 3D printed throttle linkage installed. As well as the adapters that fit the E46M3 velocity stacks to the Dellortos

    I really admire this! My intake manifold has the rod towers built it from a Mikuni set up I was using. I’m going to Weber 40’s which work with the build. I like the aft support ROM that you designed and rod from the accelerator is rock solid. I would like to see how that feels in the foot. My last set up was a little sloppy. The cable system was a nightmare for me. Anyways, strong work!

      The rod linkage is really nice. Has a really direct feel.. Mine is mostly returned by the pedal spring, really snappy - I'd recommend it over cables for sure.

      Work has me with nil garage time at the moment. Still piecing together the parts, anyway. Watching this video (over and over) sure is giving me the itch, though. That linkage you cooked up is absolutely marvelous. And the growl...Why do I torture myself?

    Wow this is so cool great job I'm happy it worked out first time! If the linkage is something you would sell or have a parts list for to replicate I would definitely be a buyer

      I don't think that I'll put these into production - they may be pretty specific to my manifold... Maybe rev2 will get a few extras built. I've posted the files in the comments, but they can be found here

      Btw, the fuel hose in the U shape is dangerous because passes above the carburators, a good improvement should be keep it straight/direct.

      @@Filthat Working on some printed velocity stacks... I hate the fuel routing. Trying to figure out a nice in-tank pump/regulator. Keep a nice clean run to the carbs. But I also might do a pump on the firewall.

      I think that Markforged does a filament with carbon in the plastic material... Doesn't really help layer to layer, and you have to put some thought into how it lays each slice to make it worth while, I think. Haven't had a chance to play with one... Trying to find a small enough part to print out of titanium. Just because.

    Spurious, I am close to giving up on the side drafts in favor of an injection system. Is this set up available to regular guys like me? It’s incredibly thoughtful, and I can tell the same clunky issues are encountered and dealt with.

    • @spuriouspseudo
      @spuriouspseudo  2 роки тому +1

      The parts are posted up to print, but they are specific to the Dellorto setup, I think; maybe even the manifold that I have. The horns are from an E46 M3 airbox. If you check the FAQ there's a guy selling the Ultimate sidedraft linkage, that works with the Webbers, looks like a nice kit. Sidedrafts are pretty sweet, I wouldn't give up on them yet - simple once you find the parts you need.

      That's the moment I realized the crazy stacks were better than I thought they'd be. I need to make some screens though, don't want to muffle them at all. Thanks for watching... It's a fun project and the vids make me take my time and do a better job.

    My DCOEs have a motor-mounted linkage, because the engine moves so much. You must have solid mounts? It's a good looking mod, regardless.

    • @spuriouspseudo
      @spuriouspseudo  3 роки тому

      There was clever slotted and sprung linkage that mounted to the firewall that came with the carbs; I was trying to emulate that. I went with the AKG mounts. Quite stiff - my engine was flopping all over the place with the mounts I had... Turns out they were dissolving and one wasn't even bolted up - AKGs might be a bit overkill. Car feels great, but there's quite a lot of vibration transmitted now.
