Thanks for your comment. They don’t really want intervention. Cleaning up their babies is part of the birthing process for them. If we clean up the babies, the mothers will probably reject them. They need the mother’s scent on them. Also, when she nuzzles them and moves them around it helps stimulate them. I do treat them like pets, but I have to respect their nature. The mother is a dairy goat. We milk her about 9 months out of the year. Her milk is creamy and makes great smoothies, drinking, cheese, and is used for anything else you would use milk for. Goats pretty much do it by themselves. When I was new to goat farming, I thought they needed help, but they don’t. Many times we don’t know the babies are born until we see them running around the farm. We do love them like they are pets. She gets special treats after kidding. They enjoy a warm syrup water, animal crackers, and extra grain. Thanks for watching my video.❤
My thought would be to have a towel and help her dry them off and clear the mucus...only because she is more or less a domesticated pet goat
