I am facing this dilemma: moving to manchester or london? Manchester has a great vibe and it would allow me to save and invest, but london has a more inspiring vibe and all my friends are there
Hey Laura! How are you?! Yes I still live in Manchester and I loveeeee it. It’s nice being so close to the city centre, the transport links are great, and if I’m not feeling lazy lol it’s nice walking all around on weekends. I love vintage shopping in the Northern Quarter, the quirky bars, and I get much more for my apartment than I would have in London! Of course there are a few downsides like being further away from my friends, but tbh now we make proper efforts to see each other. Let me know if you have any other q’s 💖✨
@@MuinatAbdul That all sounds pretty great! I grew up near Manchester so know the city (ish) but haven't spent much time there in a while. But it means I have a lot of friends around there which is one of the main reasons I want to move. But the biggest reason is obviously money - is it considerably cheaper than London? Also I saw someone on here saying it has no parks, is that true? I love the parks in London (Victoria Park might be my fave park ever in the world haha) and nothing better than seeing everyone just flock to the parks to drink tinnies in the summer which I feel might be a London thing lol
@@lauraholliday9343 I’m not gonna lie, in recent years renting prices have shifted up, but it’s still cheaper than London generally. That’s not true! There are parks in and around Manchester, have a little look on Maps and see which areas are closest to greenery! I miss Victoria Park, drinks there in summer were always a vibe. And that’s so great you have friends here, you have community and that’s super important! 💖
I’ve lived in Manchester my whole life - if you’re moving with you’re family I would imagine the City Centre is out of the question, You’d probably be looking at South Manchester, areas Didsbury, Sale, Timperly, Altringham, some parts of Flixton, Urmston and Davyhulme are also OK- depending on budget, you could check out some of the Cheshire villages, although some of them have London prices - they are not in Manchester but easily commutable.
For a black woman moving from the states would you recommend moving to London or Manchester ? I’ve been to London but never to Manchester. Thanks sis 💕
Honestly I would say London first, it’s so big and diverse. And then definitely visit Manchester and see if the vibe suits you!! 💖💖 let me know if you need any more advice xx
