Iona is a Dream, full of beautyfull History. We visited in 2010, having sights of Dolfins, sunbathing Cats onTinroofs and a wonderfull Abbey with Macbeth`s Grave beside his victim Duncan.
This is a truly excellent video! Thank you for posting. I'm planning a pilgrimage to Iona and would love to see the Sound of Iona tartan. I will look for your shop!
This reminded me of a song that Alastair Gilles used to sing "The Dark Island", which was about Benbecula, not Iona. Making a tartan featuring the colours of the Isle of Iona is a great idea. Hornby makes a OO gauge locomotive called 'The Isle of Iona' which hauls a SERCO test train which coincidentally features a red and grey livery that somewhat reflects the colours of the island featured on the tartan!
You left the bloody gate open! You know, those sheep on Iona - they're posessed. There's always one and usually black one with white streaks, that just sits there and wants the better part of your scones and waterbottle and will block the way to your destination. Oh, how do it's eyes glare. But Iona was an amazing experience when I was visiting it some 15 years ago. Ah!
Thank you bless your heart a lovely video well presented
My ancestors come from Iona....came to Canada. I enjoyed seeing my heritage for the first time in this video.
I just found out mine did too. McConaughey, they arrived in America shortly after the Revolutionary War.
Iona....from the moment you step on it ......Feels like Heaven on Earth ....it’s SO Special......

I have been on Iona with my Chrismastime voluntary project 1997.
