People are saying Adidas actually losing money on Pro Evo because they can't scale it like their other racing shoes. They are planning to release a 'consumer' version of Pro Evo where midsole manufacturing process is similar to lightstrike pro and they can mass produce it. Future of running shoes looks grim tbh. Racing shoes with no durability and trainers getting too expensive for daily use.
Yeah, everything has gone up in price. But i would say that a good pair of daily trainers is still worth the money. Running is actually quite affordable, compared to other sports.
Legs like Nijinsky 😂 I think Rishi recently wore some Sambas, which made them instantly uncool and the sales dropped off a cliff. I hope he does the same with the Pro Evo 1, then in 12 months we can buy them for £50 in TKMaxx! Make sure you get round Bristol Half a bit sharpish... splash of Brut. Good luck!

Edd - how was the 1/2 marathon? I did finish mine and realized I need to work on my pre eating at least a few days before the race. The Sky Paris were fantastic, my heart and legs felt great and then the stomach began disagreeing with me mile 8/9 and took the PB away from me (had to stop at the loo(mile 12) - terrible, but on the bright side, the sky's were excellent (almost forgot I had them on!). Thinking I may just keep with them and pro 3 or pro 4 (hopefully they are as good if not better) for racing and new Superblast (when they come out with a mix of gel nimbus). Ran my fastest in-race miles in the Paris and was cruising and then the stomach took hold- ugh! Only used Maurtens during pre and during race.
It is interesting that Adidas release more Evo 1 shoes. I worked for years in the EU shoe industry (German shoe exhibition where you meet other manufacturers etc). We know Adidas is losing money on every pair even at probably double the price. It's like you buy something on 50 % sale BUT does it really fit you.. Clearly this is a PR excersize to keep the hype. For sure it's a very good shoe but me as a slow runner could probably be better of in the Pro 3 even if the Evo 1 was the same price. I do think that the new foam and upper will tickle down to the next generation Pro 4 etc..

Hi Edd, if i may suggest, it would be interesting if you got out a bit more and talked to other runners... and got their experiences or got some games involved... It is a bit like how Jeremy Clarkson didnt stay indoors stuck to his track! Shoes are like cars..maybe? Go out in the open! I suppose a cohost or a side kick helps too! Clarkson got them... believe in the run, run testers, even ben parkes involves his girlfriend a lot! Would it juice it up a bit more if you got a few fellow runners... maybe mini contests to play off each other...? You got a good sense of humor... it might work!! I watch your stuff regularly and i am subscriber, and i was thinking about how to bump it (the subscriber count)up even more!
The Hyperion Max has more stack than the Tempo and is a great all around shoe. The next version will apparently have yet more stack! I went through 2 pairs of Tempos but now prefer the Max.
I love your work, Edd, hope you don’t get mad, but I must make a point that it’s Puma and Adidas who should find a way to remove the brand that sits at number 1 in sales and revenues worldwide, selling more pairs than all competitors combined, not the other way around. Happy runs!
yeah i hope adidas are losing money with the evo. wont be hurting them too much though. but i guess it's obvious their strategy is clear, raise the price of more common models in the long term. as you have pointed out months ago. tbh that spin is as old as supershoes are around, right? i'd love a review of some of the really afordable shoes like asics pulse.
That Pro Evo 1 might be a good shoe but the price is stupid, it's a marketing trick, I have the Metaspeed Sky Paris and Alphafly 3 and do not need the Evo 1
The evo 1 cost about 1000-1500$ to make because of the hard to scale manafacturing process. There may be more pairs coming, but never that many. But yeah you're right Nobody realy need them at that crazy price point

I do my part to feel better about it in other ways - I use recyclable grocery bags, and I now dump 40% less of my used motor oil into the storm sewer….
I can think of a lot worse. I think they're a reasonably average but versatile all-rounder. They're comfortable and more stable than those ridiculously high stacked quishy shoes.

There Will be 1mile 5km and 10km distances. He Will do a one mile in one city 5km in another finishing of with 10km in copenhagen tonight simply awesome and one of the biggest events in the world i guess
@@EDDBUD yeah Frederik is doing pretty well. It’s a hell of an event. Ain’t it crazy the king and some 2-3 bodyguards running with around 15.000 in Copenhagen. The 95.000 is all participants in 5 or so cities over the whole day. This year he did the 10km in around 59 minutes. Last year 54min. the year before around 48ish min. It’s a hard life beeing king :)

The "consumer" version is without a plate, more like a Boston 12. But the Adios Pro 4 is fantastic, huge upgrade from the 3.

Pegasus 41 are a stylish running shoe and they are durable. The extra weight of the shoe does not bother me because I wear Pegasus as a casual shoe.

Have you tried the Adizero SL, Ed? Very much Brooks Hyperion Tempo vibes but with more padding and a taller stack. Fun + Value I reckon.
The Hyperion Max has more stack than the Tempo and is a great all around shoe. The next version will apparently have yet more stack! I went through 2 pairs of Tempos but now prefer the Max.
