Coleman Camp Oven unboxing and first time cook.

This is an unboxing of the Coleman Camp Oven Series 5010. This is a Christmas gift from my youngest son. This is my first attempt to cook with it and see if I can learn the tricks and trade of the oven. This is definitely going to be a product that you want to practice with and not just go out and cook with it. I am very excited to see how this is going to change my camping and overlanding experience.

I got my first Coleman oven in 2000 and used it for years. Folks violated the first rule of camping following their nose to our site as I baked brownies, muffins, cookies, quick breads, and more in the oven. They made small talk until they could see or sample the final product. More than one munchkin left with a freshly baked cookie and a pat on the head before sending them back to their parents. Once you get the hang of it, this thing rocks! I never burned anything, but must say a fire resistant blanket cover would be a great asset on windy days. Amazon sells one for $30. We're camping again after a hiatus, and I plan to try it out next trip.

Funny you should ask. I do have the welding blanket and I have been looking at said welding blanket for a couple months. Soon hopefully.....lol
